My husband and I have had two of the worst experiences trying to purchase new cars from this dealership within the past year and I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND ANYONE buying a vehicle from them. They are di trying to purchase new cars from this dealership within the past year and I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND ANYONE buying a vehicle from them. They are disrespectful, rude, dishonest and not at all professional. Last fall we intended to purchase a new vehicle over the weekend. We visited the showroom but left outraged and disgusted. Our son is very tall and we needed to measure the seats to make sure that he would be able to fit comfortably. The sales person made many disrespectful and non-humorous comments. It is our understanding that one of the reasons given to take a test drive is to make sure you are comfortable. But not according to this sales person who insisted upon laughing and degrading us. Poking fun at our son with special needs is not a laughing matter. He also explained that "even an idiot could sell a Toyota." We took our business to elsewhere. Just a few weeks ago we decided to give them another try, thinking maybe our first experience was a fluke. We were treated nicely by a new sales person Chris and his manager, Abdul. We told them about our prior experience and they apologized. We made a deposit to purchase a 4 door Yaris hatchback that had to be brought in from another dealership. Upon arrival we came to inspect and everything seemed OK. They put the keys in the sold drawer and we decided to finish the paperwork later. We returned to finish the paperwork at a prearranged time and found that our "SOLD" vehicle had been test driven twice by different parties and even "SOLD" to another party, even though we had put money down on it and we were in the showroom. We were in shock and absolutely outraged that other sales people had continued to sell the car with a BIG SOLD SIGN on the window. It was not an accident since the sales people had to purposefully get the car from a back lot, take the keys out of the sold drawer and let people use it with a big sold sign in the window. It seemed as thought neither Chris or Abdul knew anything about the car being test driven or sold. At first they tried to make a few accommodations. Chris was new and seemed totally shocked at what happened. BUT, the blame rests with upper management - Ethan and Steve. Steve, rather disrespectfully and very business-like, explained that they had someone who would take the car we had made a deposit on immediately [a bird in the hand scenario...]. Then he left. As we tried to grapple with the situation and asked questions of Ethan to see if he could get us a new car or investigate our options, Ethan APPROVED the sale of our car to the other couple. Before we knew it, they drove the car out of the lot. We were shocked. [I have since learned that they have done this before to other customers] We decided to get our money back and not deal with them. That was another fiasco. I had to argue to get my money back and get a receipt for the return of our money. I would never recommend going to this dealer. I explained our outrage to Chris and Ethan and have repeated requested that Steve, the general manager call me but so far he has not. I have tried to contact Tammy Darvish also, but all I got was the customer service person. Tammy has not returned my calls either. I am not sure if it was legal to sell a car that we had a deposit on. However, I am sure that we were not treated respectfully, honestly, or professionally. They are not an honest dealership. Do not give them any business. More
Liars - they damaged my vehicle while it was in their care. They refused to accept responsibility for a huge dent that appeared after it arrive on their lot. In addition, the thing the "fixed" broke again a year later - on a car that gets driven no more then 20 miles a week and it's a 2004 - so it's not that old. Steer clear of this place. More
After an accident, Geico referred my car to Darcars to be fixed. The repair took longer than promised. Phone calls to inform me of repairs were not made when promised. Items were stolen from my car. fixed. The repair took longer than promised. Phone calls to inform me of repairs were not made when promised. Items were stolen from my car. The repair was faulty, and needs to be fixed; however I will be going elsewhere for the repair, despite the additional cost. More
I am very glad now that I followed my instinct and dumped Toyota off my list of possibilities fairly early on in my latest car search. At the beginning of my search, DARcars was the only place that did not r Toyota off my list of possibilities fairly early on in my latest car search. At the beginning of my search, DARcars was the only place that did not reply to my first e-mail asking for a rough quote. They did, however, have a very obnoxious guy call me at work, angrily slur a number at me and then hang up. A supervisor later asked if I'd received an e-mail quote and when I complained and told him to check his phone recordings, which shouldn't exist since I was never told that first phone call was being recorded and, in Maryland, both parties to a phone conversation must know it is being recorded or else it is an illegal tap. After the supervisor and I disconnected, his angry, misogynistic employee started phone stalking me, insisting he'd e-mailed me and repeatedly trying to e-mail me again. I even gave him my home e-mail address, but he had neither the patience nor the intelligence to get the address correct, so I never did receive a quote on the sort of new car I was looking for. Obviously, since Nissan and Honda both had excellent salespeople at excellent dealerships, I did not even test drive a Corolla. I am concluding yet another car search without truly considering a Toyota, and I'm glad, after reading these reviews, that I cut them loose so early on. More

I first contacted them via thier website darcarstoyota.com. I recieved a phone call within 5 minutes by an extremely knowledgeable salesperson by the name of Amir. He offered me an upfront price quote without any hesitation. I later a scheduled an appointment with him to come in the following day to purchase a brand new Camry SE. When I arrived at the dealership the car was pulled up, washed and ready for me to test-drive. Needless to say it was a great experience. More

While I have experienced many of the frustrations and hassles described previously about this dealer, I commend Darcars for their personal, professional and thorough response after I complained about my hassles described previously about this dealer, I commend Darcars for their personal, professional and thorough response after I complained about my buying experience in buying a pre-certified FJ Cruiser. Most of the Toyota dealers have poor ratings on this site, so I have to acknowledge that while bad service could happen anywhere superior customer service does not. Darcars has superior customer service. Darcars turned a cynical, hassled customer who experienced bad service with every aspect of her buying experience, to an extremely satisfied customer who will recommend this dealership. The only reason I rated this dealership a "4" in 2 categories in that I had such a pervasive rocky start to my experience with the dealership, but I do highly recommend this dealership for responding from the top down to ensure everything was resolved for me extremely quickly. My hats off to the owner and VP of Sales for their personal touch and hands on approach. More
On August 5th, 2007 my wife and I drove to Darcars Toyota in Silver Spring to purchase 2 new vehicles, a Corolla for me and a Sienna for her. We were trading in my Camry which was paid off and our 4Runner w in Silver Spring to purchase 2 new vehicles, a Corolla for me and a Sienna for her. We were trading in my Camry which was paid off and our 4Runner which we still owed money on. After talking with the salesman for a few minutes, (who was very outgoing and friendly and is the only person there that I do trust) the sales manager came over named Ali. He said he noticed we were with our children and he did not want to keep us waiting. He stated that he was going to give us the lowest price that he can sell the cars for so we wouldn't have to wait, just to pick out the cars. Once we got to finance the payment's were higher than what we were expecting because of our credit. They stated that our credit would only be pulled once and that it would not affect our credit scores. Our credit was pulled 14 times and lowered our credit scores by 28 points. After agreeing on a rate of 14.9% and the payment that we felt comfortable with we signed the papers. On 8/18/07 I received a call from Chris, the finance man, after I had made attempts to reach someone to find out what was going on. He informed me that he did not obtain the financing at the 14.9% but we would have to come in to resign papers and the interest rate will be 17.99%. I told him to have the cars we traded in ready, that we will be picking them up on 8/20. On top of all this they never paid off the 4Runner and I never received the money I am due from my Camry, which is $6,000. I will post an update after we go back to get our trade-ins. Andy More
Bought a Scion TC. Salesperson knew nothing about the car. Was told the Scions do not come to the lots with the stereos factory installed and if they have the part in stock it would take them 20 minutes car. Was told the Scions do not come to the lots with the stereos factory installed and if they have the part in stock it would take them 20 minutes to install. Of course, after I signed the paperwork to purchase the car, I'm told the part is not in stock which I'm sure was a load of crap. They told me it would take 3 days to come in and they would call. I called Darcars 3 days later. No stereo. The part is on backorder and would be in the following week. These guys play games. Since I won't be billed for the labor, they don't want to install the xxxx stereo. More
