When it was totaled in an accident, I initially could not find a satisfactory replacement - AWD, lower mileage, good condition, and a price I could afford. My wife began searching online and found a 2011 RAV4 with 45,000 miles and AWD. I called and spoke with sales manager Jovan Severin - he had just posted the listing and had not even had the chance for his service department to clean and service the car. I told him, if the car meets the description you posted and you can work with me a bit on the price, then I want the car. He took the car off the public inventory, held it for me until it could be properly cleaned and serviced, arranged for us to do much of the paperwork by email, then met us at a time that worked for our schedule. At that time he introduced us to salesman Anthony Galloway to ensure that we continued to get great care. Anthony took us for an inspection of the car, a test drive, and explained features that were new to us. Jovan and Anthony arranged to secure for us a 2011 handbook for the car and an antenna that was missing. They had to order these and made sure we got them. Anthony guided us through the remaining paperwork and registration details. These two men subsequently arranged a follow-up courtesy service visit to check on a brake concern I had. During the time leading up to purchase and in the 6 weeks thereafter, many of my questions got addressed in text messages and promptly. We bought our first Toyota from Darcars in 2004, Our family has bought four more in the years since then. It is a large competitive dealership that can usually provide whatever we need. But the characteristic of the dealership that I have most appreciated over the years has been the quality and good attitude of the personnel that we meet face-to-face in both sales and service. Excellent experience! More

I finally found a place that not only gave me a good price on my dream car (2016 Maxima), but even lowered it to fit my budget! The sales manager Jovan Severin is a 5 star manager and was the most honest and helpful sales person I have ever met!! This is the place to go for all your car needs. More
Horrible service trying to buy from out of town The sales "managers" for the pre-owned vehicles were horrible. I contacted the dealership last weekend about a vehicle that I was interested in buying. After spending a few hours on a Sunday playing phone tag with "manager" CHAD, trying to find out pricing information, it got too late for me to make the 4 hour drive to see the vehicle in person. CHAD said he would talk to "the Director" first thing Monday morning about either a deposit or other arrangements for me to see the vehicle. CHAD never got back to me, back to the phone tag. Finally, a salesman emailed me a blank credit authorization without any terms or a deposit amount and expected me to fill it out with my credit card info, scan it and email it back. I still couldn't get a call back from any manager to discuss this deposit or terms of the deal. So, I figure i'll try to contact them back on Friday and make the 4 hour drive up on Saturday. I started by calling CHAD on his direct line, who won't answer or return my calls, to see if the truck was till available and if I could make a deposit over the phone, and no surprise that he didn't take the call. So I called the dealership and asked to speak with whatever manager was on duty. Here is where I messed up, I didn't catch this "managers" name but he was just as much help as CHAD had been, which was absolutely none. This "manager" said he couldn't take a deposit on this particular because there was so much interest in it. He actually said he would be a "xxxxxx bag" if he took a deposit on it because so many people wanted to buy it. I wasn't sure why he chose that language when talking to me, but now it's become quite clear. So after a week of trying to track someone down to sell me a vehicle, I get a text from a salesman (not a CALL from a MANAGER), saying that they just took a deposit on the vehicle. REALLY??? I've been trying to give you a deposit for a week, then I'm told you can't take a deposit, then I'm told that you actually already took a deposit and the vehicle has been sold. This is ridiculous. This dealership could care less about customer service or building a loyal customer base. Your sales "management" team is actually hurting your sales and losing you potential business. More

Dishonest salesman, terrible experience--stay away I messaged this dealership about a 2016 Corolla (VIN: 2T1BURHE2GC568249). It had only 18,237 miles on it and was selling for $11,900. Clearly, it was I messaged this dealership about a 2016 Corolla (VIN: 2T1BURHE2GC568249). It had only 18,237 miles on it and was selling for $11,900. Clearly, it was a great deal so I messaged them about it. I got an e-mail and phone call from the salesman the next day (Steve Wyatt). Given the rapid response, my impression of Darcars at this point was good. Unfortunately, the price was out of my budget--yes, on paper it was a good deal, but I knew that after taxes and miscellaneous "processing fees" it would quickly become unaffordable for me. Moreover, the round-trip journey to the dealership would have taken 2+ hours, and given my profession I did not have that kind of time to window shop, not even on the weekends. I decided to call Steve and see if he would be willing to budge on the price. As you would expect, he refused. I explained my situation to him and he again refused to budge. Fair enough; the car's a good deal and people need to make a living. Now here's the part that really gets to me. Steve said he would talk to his superiors about the car and any similar cars that might meet my budget. When I heard back from him, he said the car (2016 Corolla) had already been sold. At this point I was skeptical. The car had been on the market for 72 days and had been lowered $3000 in total since its initial listing. Clearly, it was having trouble selling. For it to have been sold within the few hours between my initial contact with Steve and his return call was highly suspicious. Furthermore, the listing was still on the internet. Now there's more to this story...the next day, I got a call back from Steve's superior about the car. He left a voicemail and didn't say anything specific, so I called him back, only to be told AGAIN that the car was sold. I was very confused but I knew something was fishy. The listing was still on the internet, so I messaged Darcars again to check the availability of the car and...voila! I was told by the representative that the car was still available. The car was still listed for at least a FULL WEEK after I was told explicitly by Steve that the car had been sold. Now, I don't know why Darcars would lie to me, since they were clearly having trouble getting rid of the car and turning away customers like that is equivalent to shooting yourself in the foot and slamming it with a sledgehammer to make sure it's really broken, but what I can say is that a dealership that has the gall to blatantly lie about what they are willing to sell does not deserve my patronage or yours. Take your money elsewhere--don't waste your time and money at Darcars Toyota of Silver Spring. More

I asked them to please transfer my old plates to the new car, and to handle that transaction with the DMV, which I am sure they do every day. However, they ignored this and just got me a different set of new plates instead. Either that department messed up, or they have communications wires crossed between Sales and that department. It's minor but it's irritating. Just watch out for this and try to get written documentation of your intentions so they cannot claim they didn't know. The great thing about DARCARS is that they handle Costco Auto Program customers in bulk, so they are used to selling you a car without over-glitzing you with features and add-ons that you don't need, and you don't have to sit through some stupid "negotiations" process. This is very refreshing. Just be sure to only contact one of the sales reps that Costco recommends. If some other sales person tries to collar you instead, just ignore them. I had a non-recommended sales rep try to steal my business away from one of the trained Costco reps, which is not approved by either Costco or the dealer, which would not at all have guaranteed me getting all the deals Costco gives you. So just be careful and call the Costco Auto Program number if you are unsure at any point in the process. More

my first experience with them was horrible I was looking to get my first car on my 23rd birthday and did not really know what I wanted but I was looking for a solid car in my budget price .Aft I was looking to get my first car on my 23rd birthday and did not really know what I wanted but I was looking for a solid car in my budget price .After looking for several weeks , I fell in love with the 2015 Corolla and 2015 Camry . I went to multiple dealers and test drove multiple cars . I was about to get a Camry with 32000 miles from Toyota Darcars of Silver Spring but JUST because of the service I received there I kept looking elsewhere and eventually purchased it from a different dealer. good thing for me is I got a better deal . anyway let's talk about DARCARS : the first time I went there i test drove a corolla . I loved the outside but the inside was too small for me I asked the salesperson to test drive a Camry and i told her my budget . she said with that you should just go with the corolla . i insisted . she looked online and told me they had a Camry for about $2000 above my budget and that it was the only thing i could afford . i said okay . I drove and loved the Camry and said I would let her know my decision by the next day . when i went home i looked up their website and surprise ! they had the same Camry i drove for 10.000 less miles and it was for the same price !!! i called and told the salesperson that she pretended she did not know and i said i would like to go with that specific car but because i had to work that day , i would come the next day to test drive it . she said she would need me to put down a deposit to hold the car for me. LOLL I was gonna come the NEXT day . anyway she sent me a credit card authorization form to get the deposit . When i went there to test drive the car i saw online , she wanted me to take it home . i did not have insurance yet . she told me if I did not come the next day she would sell the car and that her manager told her to not hold the car for me . i really like that car( it had some really big scratches) and even when i tried to get a discount . everything coming out of her mouth was straight NO ! 2 days after I go to their website and guess what ? THEY ADDED $1000 ON TOP OF THE ORIGINAL CAR PRICE . LOL!!!! Anyway i told her i wanted my deposit back . she said OK she was not at work and would process the refund the next day. I work in a hotel and handle payments so i know it takes some time for the money to reflect back on my card . I waited 10 days and nothing on my card FROM DARCARS. When I called to talk to someone in accounting , they told me they never received any paperwork to initiate the refund and they would talk to the salesperson then process the refund i said OK . i called back to see if there was anyway way to get the refund done that same day . the Ethiopian lady that picked up the phone put me on wait for 10 minutes after recognizing my voice . she comes back to me and ask : who are you holding FOR ? LOOOL REALLY ? I SAID ACCOUNTING . she puts me back on hold for 5 minutes i hanged up and called back and said please don't make me wait 15 min again just to talk to accounting . i finally got my money back after going back and forth with them . i work in hospitality and know when there are days when things go wrongs but please DARCARS ... other than than AHMADOU BAH guy i talked to when i came there . EVERYBODY ELSE WAS REALLY BAD. DO YOU LOOK AT PEOPLE FACES TO DECIDE HOW TO TREAT THEM . LOSING ME MIGHT BE NOTHING TO YOU AS YOU ARE A BIG COMPANY WITH MONEY BUT LET ME TELL YOU, REPUTATION IS A REALLY BIG KEY AND SOME OF THE PEOPLE WORKING FOR YOU ARE BRINGING YOU DOWN ! ps: English is not my first language . sorry for all the mistakes . :) More
