I would absolutely recommend this dealer to anyone. I obtained my Toyota Camry hybrid through the Cash for Clunkers program. At every step of the sales process, the sales staff was helpful. I felt that I got a very good deal, and was dealt with honestly and fairly. When it turned out that the paint was applied unevenly on my new car, the dealership took the car to the body shop and had the trunk and hood repainted, at no cost to myself. They even loaned me a Camry, at no cost, while the paint repairs were made. The resulting repairs (new paint on the hood and trunk) look very good - work was high quality. The service department also took care of another small emergency repair that was needed that day. I was also impressed that the staff checked back with me, to ensure that everything was going well. As a result of my experiences, I would give this dealership very high marks. More
We just purchased a 2010 Prius from Mr. Moses at DARCARS of Frederick. We attended the Prius Open House event and left with a better understanding of the vehicle. We had been to several Toyota dealers in our area but none had the knowledge that DARCARS of Frederick did. Mr. Moses was the sales-rep that we talked to during this event. As we took our test drive, he explained all of the features, etc. We left the event thinking we would probably buy one, but wanted to "shop" it. After visiting websites and other dealers, we thought that we would just wait. Other dealers were a little pompous about what they had, and what we wanted. Mr. Moses called us back, just to follow up. No pressure, just information. When he had something in stock in the model we were looking at, he called again. No pressure. We showed up, unannounced, he was just arrriving at work. Mr. Moses dropped what he was doing and talked to us again. We discussed our trade in and the deal we wanted. No problem. He took our vehicle and let us fiddle with the Prius. Always coming back to us to ask if we had questions. This man knows his vehicle. Knows how to talk to a customer. Long story short, we purchased the Prius, got what we wanted for our trade in. We are now the proud owners of the Prius III. Though that is not the end of the story. Mr. Moses called us back to see if we had any questions and invited us to the new owners workshop. At our age, we have purchased many vehicles from many dealers. None have gone to the measure that DARCARS of Frederick has to ensure customer satisfaction. They go out of their way to ensure that you understand everything and are satisfied with your experience. DARCARS Toyota, Frederick, Maryland, is a well known and respected car dealer which is one of the reasons we first decided to go there. We have owned a 1999 and 2005 Toyota Forerunner (the 2005 was our first purchase with DARCARS, Frederick) which were serviced by DARCARS Frederick, both in excellent condition when we traded them, due partially to the care taken by the service team to keep them in top notch condition. Jason Barber is the Service Technician we work with. Jason is polite, listens, knows his job and takes time to answer and explain questions. Tate Chrysler was also a dealer we worked with, primarily due to Jason Waltrup (currently General Sales Manager for DARCARS, Frederick), who was a salesman when we first started going there. We purchased four vehicles from Jason over the years and referred many family members and friends to him. We were thrilled when he started working for DARCARS! In the past year, Jason helped us to purchase our 2008 Lexus IS250 and 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser. In addition to continuing to work with many friends and family for their vehicle needs. The sales person my husband and I were dealing with was great. There was no pressure put on us which we really like. This was the BEST experience I have had in 20 years of buying cars! Sean, the salesperson was AWESOME to deal with. He understood my needs and was not pushy. I Visited on Friday, 7/4/08 and was pleased to find one Prius in stock with the desired package. I Was told that this one had been ordered by a customer who backed out on the sale, and that the customer h Prius in stock with the desired package. I Was told that this one had been ordered by a customer who backed out on the sale, and that the customer had added custom features that were already paid for by the dealer and had to be included in the sale price. It took awhile to get a list of these extra features. The salesperson (Justin) didn't know anything about them, and had to talk to the business manager (Sam). Finally they gave me a list of items. They refused to remove any features from the invoice, even though none had been added to the car yet. I called other Toyota dealers in my region and none had a Prius on their lot. The consensus was that I'd have to wait about 6 months. Since the Prius was difficult to get, and I really wanted this particular car, I returned to the dealership the following day and purchased the vehicle. I paid $2237 above MSRP, justifying this because of the custom features, one of which (the window tinting) I actually wanted. Now, after looking at Toyota.com I see that that they trumped up the prices on the extras. For instance, I was charged $140 for a first aid kit with MSRP of $29, and the list goes on. I am shocked that they would be so incredibly dishonest! A couple of the items on the list didn't even show up in the car, and I have to go back and point that out to them. In the end, the $2237 in extras have an MSRP of about $1200. This is not only dishonest, but seems brazen considering the ease with which I was able to find out that they lied to me. Normally, I make it a policy not to do business with dishonest establishments. My advice to anyone looking to buy a Toyota is to beware that this dealership will not deal honestly with you and will do their best to take advantage of you. More
