I fear buying cars: it is a big amount of money, I know that I must haggle the price down since we're tight with the money, and it is something that we can't do without, therefore it must be done! With these thoughts in mind I went to Darcars Toyota of Frederick to buy a car because I had to. It was the second time I went there, I bought my first car in 2007 from Darcars, but that time my Dad came with me for moral support. I should not have been afraid at all! The salesman was kind and supportive, he found me the car I could afford, and I did not feel pressured at all. As a matter of fact I got out of there with the car I wanted, at the price i wanted, and smiling. Now, that's more like it! I like Toyota, and if I'll need another car, that's the place I'll go to buy it. More
** Update. After messaging the Service person who is listed on the phone, and still receiving no answer I filed this complaint. Shortly after I recieved a call and email from a gentleman who was extreme listed on the phone, and still receiving no answer I filed this complaint. Shortly after I recieved a call and email from a gentleman who was extremely helpful and pleasant and we were able to get all these issues taken care of. (Jason Walthrup) The fact remains that I had to jump through a ton of hoops to get everything taken care of, but Jason really was on the ball on getting the items I was missing and the work that was never done taken care of. A great thanks goes out to jason, I however will not be using this dealership in the future. -- old -- 1st issue. everything in pictures of of the jeep was not given to me when I bought it. They said it was at another dealership but it was never given to me. they do not return phone calls or emails about this 2nd issue. the transfer of tags has taken well over 1 month. I have called at least 6 times, and the excuses have started with " i cant find it, to I found it and will do it today, -week later " oh you need this which I told you you didnt " then " oh I am backed up and may have it done next friday " - ridiculous. 3rd called other dealership about missing items - they stated they cannot release them to me, but no one has called from the frederick location for them. 4th. requested alignment, oil change, and light repair. Light repair was done, the oil change light was still on and was never completed, and no alignment/balance was done on it either as you still have to hold the wheel slightly left to get it to go straight. 5th. to get these repairs done they made me drive an hour north back to their location where they still did not even complete the repairs. 6th, emailed " tammy " from the voicemail and never recieved a reply or call back. Avoid this dealership unless you want ridiculous problems. More

He promptly helped me figure out whether or not I was able to get financing on my own and took me to speak with Bill about payment possibilities. Both Bill and Jason went over every single option I was able to use to ensure that I could afford payments and that I was satisfied with my purchase before pulling off the lot. Great overall experience, I would definitely recommend DARCARS of Frederick in the future! More

He walked me through the Toyota Financial site what it looks like, how to make payments and view documents. John and Chris also offered to wash my car every week. Purchased a new Prius Plug-In today at this dealership. I had originally sent a email request via cars.com with price quote (and breakdown of the OTD price). Tim Dotson was very quick to reply back and one of a handful of salesmen who actually answered my question verbatim. At the time I was looking to get a Prius 2 or 3, not really looking into the plug in models, however something came up so had to postpone my purchase. Of course the special financing ended on the prius, but the plug-in still had the 0% plus another incentive which made it more feasible to increase my price range. Of course during/after the sales, the dealership wants you to make sure you sing their praises if corporate calls or when filling out internet ratings (i.e. this website). I have no problems giving them a "thumbs up". I've purchased way more cars than I should have in the past 12+ years. I think the main thing to take away from any car purchase is to make sure the dealership is specific when answering your questions and make sure you read the pricing (and whatever paperwork associated with the car) correctly and if everything is to your satisfaction then it should be smooth sailing. Could I have saved more money by going with another dealership. Absolutely. Why didn't I? I understand dealerships need to make a profit in order to stay in business. Who wouldn't want to make as much as possible when running a business right? In the end I went with this place because Tim was very upfront with the pricing, the finance guy (Bill Duque) was doing his job and I never really felt any pressure from him when being asked about other things I might want to add to the car prior to signing the paperwork. When I'm in the market again I will definitely consider this dealership when shopping for another Toyota. More
