WORSE EXPERIENCE FOR FIRST TIME CUSTOMER!! I purchased a pre-owned certified Lexus from this establishment, last week, as a first time patron, and received horrible customer service. I chose th I purchased a pre-owned certified Lexus from this establishment, last week, as a first time patron, and received horrible customer service. I chose this location, only because the vehicle I was interested in, just happed to be on this lot. I sent an email to inquire, and a salesman replied. #1 The salesman was an hour late for the CONFIRMED 12:00 appointment time, and did not even have the courtesy to inform me, that he would not be there on time, which was disrespectful, and set a bad tone from the start. I stated that this was not acceptable, and that my time was as valuable as anyone else! #2 I verified with the salesman, ahead of time, a particular vehicle I was interested in by specs, vin#, style #, mileage, color, price and certification, before I arrived, to make sure the car was still on the lot. He notified me that it was. Once I arrived, he negated the fact that the vehicle was certified, as advertised. I refused, and insisted on what was advertised, as we both viewed their Lexus website together. I also had proof of the certification on this particular vehicle, on the Carfax, Trucar, Edmunds, Bluebook and Carguru reports. He now states, that the car is certified, but the certification was not included in the price advertised. I claimed, that this was false advertisement on behalf of Darcus Lexus, and I bet the state of Maryland would back me on this. The salesman then stated the price was a mistake by management, and I needed to pay for certification. I again, refused to accept. When I asked him to explain the mistake in pricing, he now retracted, and stated he did not state that a mistake was made in pricing the vehicle. I had a witness with me, that also reiterated what was heard. After I pressed the issue, stating I wanted to speak to management. He hesitated, by saying management would not talk to me. I insisted. A manager obliged to speak to me, and after I pressed the issue, the manager complied with the certification, for the price advertised. The salesman next suggested several ridiculous add ons, however, I refused and told him why I did not need these. #3 The vehicle was advertised with 4 brand new tires. After test driving the vehicle, I noticed a huge nail in one of the Michelin tires, and showed it to the salesman. His first response, was "Oh xxxx, service department, is going to be pissed. We will probably repair that for you." I did not appreciate his manner, however, I did not comment on his manner. I would not accept the repair, being that the tire is now compromised, and insisted on a new tire, after discussion, which he complied.. #4 I expressed an interest in proceeding purchasing the vehicle, at this time. When the salesman, asked me a 2nd time, to copy my driver's license, and now also my insurance card, he noticed that I also owned a Lexus. Without asking me anything about trade-in prior, he raised his voice to me, with angst, " Oh, wow, you have a trade-in?!" I calmly stated, "Well, that is possible, I did arrive, driving a car, and I am sure you deal with trade-ins everyday". He said, with an attitude, "Well if you do, I need to know right now!" I said, "We can talk about it, however, it would be more respectful to me as a lady, if you cut the disrespectful attitude with me. Since I have been at your dealership, I have not been happy about the way I have been treated, thus far." He proceeded to assess my own car, and we agreed on the trade- in value. #5 I proceed to finance department. My credit score was 875. The finance person was extremely rude from the time I arrived, until the end of the transaction. I made a statement about her rudeness, and she exclaimed, "She was a bulldog, that is why she still has her job there, that she is highly respected in the industry" I thought, What??!! Seriously?? I had to insist that she shop the interest rate, several times over, until we agreed on a rate. As high as my score was, this should NOT have been an issue, and she could have been a lot nicer. For example, she tried to belittle my interest rate, telling me, that everyone comes in with a decent rate, and could afford a Lexus, and that the high interest rate, was the best she could do. Call her tomorrow, if I could do better, and she doubt that I could do better. I pushed back and held my ground, until we came to an agreed interest rate. I compared this final rate to the research I had already done with several credit unions. She complied with a serious attitude issue, and tried to sell me plenty add-ons. I balked, however, finally agreed on at least, the extended warranty, as in this case, was needed. In the end, after SEVEN hours of xxxx, I finally left the lot with my vehicle. I feel that this was the most exasperating and humiliating experience, I have had in my purchase of 5 cars, including several Lexus, at any dealership. In hindsight, of the unmitigated gaul, of the attitude of the employees here, I should have walked out, never to return!! After what I went through at this dealership, I really do not even trust the fact that my car was actually certified, with the detailed inspection advertised, however, I had some recourse, that I left with the 2 year certification warranty, in addition to the extended warranty purchased. Simply, would I ever do business with this establishment again? NEVER!! I suggest anyone considering doing business at this establishment, to be for- warned. The service I received was appalling!! More
