Service Department Safety Protocols On July 31, 2020 I took my new car to DARCAR Lexus of Silver Spring for my first service appointment. I was surprised and dismayed that several of the On July 31, 2020 I took my new car to DARCAR Lexus of Silver Spring for my first service appointment. I was surprised and dismayed that several of the service staff, both inside and outside, were not wearing masks. They included people in offices and others walking through the service area. When I raised my concern to the service manager, he said that it is the dealership's policy that service employees only have to wear masks when a customer is in their office. He was very defensive and said it is too hard for people to wear masks all day. It appears clear that DARCAR Lexus of Silver Spring is not concerned enough about their customers to enforce basic safety protocols against the COVID 19 virus. I did not want to enter a service area where people were not wearing masks or have an unmasked technician working inside my car. I will go to another dealer that adheres to basic safety protocols.
