I would recommend this dealership. Went in on a Saturday morning, certainly considering buying a car but not in a bind to get one right away. I had registered under the Navy Federal program, so I had received emails from about a half-dozen dealerships in the area. I have never owned a Honda, so I didn't have any particular loyalties to any dealership. I figured I would start at the closest dealership and work my way out, if necessary. Travis Jenkins had contacted me over the phone once I submitted my email inquiry. He left a short message. When I called back, he was quite friendly and I said that I planned to be in on a Saturday morning for a test drive. Saturdays are obviously the busiest day at the dealership, but Travis didn't seem at all put out when we arrived with our two small children in tow. What I liked about him is that he was thorough, while being relatively expedient. I test drove the car, he answered all of my questions and seemed to be very knowledgeable about the features. We only haggled slightly on my trade in (I ended up getting $8 more than KBB's average trade for a good condition car). I don't think i got an "amazing" deal on the purchase, but I think I got a fair trade value, and a good price on the new car. And Travis was working like mad to get all of the paperwork done quickly to get us out the door with our new Honda. I would recommend the dealership but probably especially recommend Travis Jenkins as a salesman. He was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and probably most important in my book--wasn't pushy. I purchased my vehicle from Honda of Bowie ten years ago, and I wasn't impressed with the dealership then. During the years I have owned my Honda, I have taken it to this dealership for service twice. Both t and I wasn't impressed with the dealership then. During the years I have owned my Honda, I have taken it to this dealership for service twice. Both times they managed to annoy me - one time they broke my key and blamed me for the broken key; the second time a part wasn't in stock and I was stuck waiting several days for a repair without a loaner car. Honda of Bowie was having a sale, so I went to see. According to their website, the vehicle I was looking for wasn't in stock, but I was hoping that the sales associates could give me a feel for the rest of the vehicle, just not in my chosen trim level. John greeted me and I told him what I was after. He didn't seem to know what I was talking about. He then left and came back and said that no he didn't have anything like that in stock, and he didn't know when he would be getting anything like that. I asked him for his card - he said he was so new that he didn't have a card. He grabbed a piece of paper and wrote his information down. More
If I would recommend Honda of Bowie to someone, I would do it because RT Yancey works there. We were interested in buying a 2013 Honda CRV and shopped around several dealerships in MD before we arrived at do it because RT Yancey works there. We were interested in buying a 2013 Honda CRV and shopped around several dealerships in MD before we arrived at the Honda of Bowie. RT Yancey offered us the cheapest deal as compared to other dealerships and we were so impressed by his service that we ended up adding a rear spoiler and moon roof visor to our CRV. If you're planning to buy a car, just go to RT Yancey at the Honda of Bowie and you won't be disappointed. More
I went to Honda of Bowie because of the Costco car sales program. Allen Weber was the person that Costco put me in touch with. He was very nice and friendly. Before the test drive Allen explained how everyt program. Allen Weber was the person that Costco put me in touch with. He was very nice and friendly. Before the test drive Allen explained how everything worked on the car, including all the great gadgets that this car had it. After that I was quoted Costco price which I was not to impressed with. I told Allen that I would get in touch with him and counter offer via email. I did few days later. Allen counter offered and give me a great deal. I received a detailed email with an invoice: my trade in, car price, tax, processing fee and my "out at the door price." I also wanted a color they did not have. Allen told me he could have it before end of the week. He actually had it ready for me two days later. I went to pick it up and it was exactly what I requested. Whole thing took hour and the half and I was out at the door with my new car:) thank you Allen ! I also forgot to get everything out of my trade in vehicle, Allen called me and let me know that he had it and he will keep it for me until I can come to pick it up. I also went to their service department a few months earlier. It was a great experience; the price for service was 50% less that College Park Honda was asking and service was done in less time than I was originally told. I will be back. More
Patrick has made my experience with this dealership an overall nightmare. A check was to be over nighted for a pay off & to my former finance compay and was not. A month later I am being informed that it overall nightmare. A check was to be over nighted for a pay off & to my former finance compay and was not. A month later I am being informed that it has not been paid. I contacted Patrick, he was very nonchalant about the incident & said he would look into it. Did not provide any acknowledgement of the issue by apologizing. I followed up with him the next day, & left a voicemail. Patrick returned the call & stated, "Hi, I received your voicemail & the check is in the mail." He didn't sound to confident so I inquired do you know what your referring to? Once I started restating my issue he then apologized for confusion & said that he just needs to get the address again to the finance company. (Which i already provided a month ago) He stated they should receive it by Monday. I asked why can't it be over nighted just as it was promised to me a month ago? He then got defensive & stated it was my fault that the check was not sent out because of verification information. I informed him its not my fault, I've spoke to the new finance company and received my welcome letter. This was all new news to me. Not to mention that interest can accrue with the old fonance company, when I thought this was taken care of! He was rude and lacked customer service skills! To tell a consumer who did not even know about the situation something is there fault, truly speaks volumes for this finance Manager! It was really an unfortunate experience. Once I requested the managers number, he left me on hold for a long time & came back and stated he could Fed X it! More
Myishia Pruitt and Travis Jenkins (our prime contcats) were great to work with. They answered all of our questions (and we had a lot of them) in making our recent purchase at Honda of Bowie. The negotia were great to work with. They answered all of our questions (and we had a lot of them) in making our recent purchase at Honda of Bowie. The negotiations were very respectfull, pricing on the vehicle we ended up buying, especially since it was honda certified and included future oil changes was fair, and we received a good price for our trade in. While the staff clearly wanted to sell us a vehicle we were not overly pressured to make a purchase that night. Financing was easy and Myishia was EXTREMELY helpfull in working to resolve (much to our satifaction) a couple of follow up items we noted later that needed servicing on the vehicle. To date the service department has been GREAT to work with (thanks Mohammed)and the nighttime service hours make it easy to have work performed at a time that is convenient to us. More
Just bought a 2013 Civic from Honda of Bowie. I worked with Stephanie Dewey who was awesome and made the tedious process of buying a car truly hassle free. I did a lot of online research and comparison sh with Stephanie Dewey who was awesome and made the tedious process of buying a car truly hassle free. I did a lot of online research and comparison shopping and Honda of Bowie gave me great price, upfront via email. I had several dealerships refuse to give me a price online. I really appreciated the upfront approach and Stephanie's quick communications and out of the ordinary customer service. More
The sales representative I worked with was very courteous and knowledgeable. I knew exactly what I wanted and let him know that up front. He did not try to sell me up to a different model which is not my t and knowledgeable. I knew exactly what I wanted and let him know that up front. He did not try to sell me up to a different model which is not my typical experience when buying a car. This a liked and appreciated. The sales rep met my offer and it was a very good price. This was an excellent car buying experience in my opinion. More
Richard Yancey (R.T.) is the best sales person. His service is superb! Respectful, professional, courteous, pleasant, humble, ethical, are just a few words to describe this gentleman. This was a ver service is superb! Respectful, professional, courteous, pleasant, humble, ethical, are just a few words to describe this gentleman. This was a very positive car buying experience for my family. We just had a new baby and needed to upgrade to a bigger family car. We knew we wanted the Honda Pilot after doing our research. R T listened to us respectfully and patiently and we informed him of what we are looking for. He was very easy to talk to, very humble, and never tried to pressure us into anything we didn’t want. He didn’t approach us with the hiked up sales flair most car salespersons would do. In fact, I hate when car salespersons try to make you look like they are the only ones who know about cars. But RT was different and I liked that. I had visited two other Honda car dealers in our area and we were completely turned off by the attitude, aggression, and lack of professionalism portrayed by the sales persons. Their manager was worst. It was a blessing when the Manager of a dealership in Marlow Heights lost my business and allowed me to go through the door saying “You are not ready to buy”. Not because we did not accept what you considered your best offer means we are not ready to buy. I believe their service sucked compared to Bowie Honda where RT and the entire team were excellent! The atmosphere was pleasant and most of all I could see that this man was efficient, ethical and professional. The building is clean and welcoming, After getting some internet quotes, we went to Honda of Bowie to see what the COSTCO Auto program would offer. Additionally, we spoke to RT on the phone prior to our visit and he said that he would beat the offer I got from another dealer. I already had a great offer but RT decided he would beat it, and he did. We were also trading in our car and although Honda Bowie gave me an initial offer lower than that offered by other dealers, RT quickly reviewed this with his manager David Song, who was also professional, and they ended up beating the best trade-in offer for our car. These people are willing to negotiate, and they do it respectfully and professionally. Despite the fact that we chose not to close the deal upon the first visit, especially because our kids were getting restless, RT never seemed rushed, he remained patient and committed. The finance services manager, Davaughn Page, was also great and courteous. He had a good sense of humor. At first, he pranked me into believing the interest rate was going to be higher than what we thought, as Honda was offering a special interest rate that we wanted to take advantage of, hence the reason we decided to get the car during that promotion. After talking with Davaughn, my husband and I thought that the positive sales experience so far was ruined by finance. However, I briefly left his office to the bathroom to diaper my baby. Upon my return my husband further pranked me when he said, “Baby, you won’t believe this, Davaughn did a bad thing – look at the paper work now.” There was no smile left in me I must admit, so I started reviewing the paper work and realized that Davaughn gave us even a lower rate than the promotional rate we were anticipating. By this time, I felt so excited – Yes! I could laugh again! Thanks Davaughn. It is a wonderful thing when customer service can be experienced at all levels within an organization and Honda of Bowie passed this test with flying colors! This team exceeded my expectations and I would recommend Honda of Bowie to everyone who wants a great car buying experience! Remember to ask for RT. Big up to you RT and Davaughn. You guys were just great! Thanks, thanks, thanks! More
My entire experience with Honda of Bowie was pleasant. Travis was helpful, professional and encouraging. I really went there expecting to make a decision about purchasing a used car. However, Travis foun Travis was helpful, professional and encouraging. I really went there expecting to make a decision about purchasing a used car. However, Travis found just the right new car for me. He was patient, pleasant and understanding. I had loads of questions for him while I was in the shop. After I had left the shop and was at home, I called back with more questions. He answered every question and all concerns that I had and never once made me feel that I was asking too many things. Travis is an excellent sales person. He knows his products and was able to determine what would be of interest to me. He certainly is a good listener. I felt very comfortable talking with Travis and Davaughn. I never once felt that they were being "pushy", which is what I have too often experienced at dealerships and feeling annoyed, I just walked away. I still can't believe that I bought a NEW car when I was actually expecting to only be able to possibly find and buy a good used one. Thank you Travis and Honda of Bowie. I will refer people to your shop for the excellent, professional and sincere services you provide. More
