I had a positive response from the moment I drove onto the parking lot at Honda of Bowie. I was greeted with a friendly smile and a wave from the first staff member I saw. Entering the showroom, I was welcomed by manager Elliott Bourne and introduced to Meagan Bailey, who was warm and friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the product line up. I wasn't sure at first what I was looking for, but Meagan was patient and answered all my questions and asked me a few so that she could help me decide which vehicles to start with. Two days later, my husband and I made an appointment to see the beautiful Civic EX-L that is exactly what I was looking for. From start to finish, the buying experience was flawless, and we will rcommend Honda of Bowie and Meagan Bailey to everyone we know. More
It has been a NIGHTMARE trying to get our BRAND NEW 2014 Honda CR-V (which was PURCHASED at Honda of Bowie) in for service to fix an issue that apparently has plagued CR-Vs, Accords and even Civics over the Honda CR-V (which was PURCHASED at Honda of Bowie) in for service to fix an issue that apparently has plagued CR-Vs, Accords and even Civics over the last 5-6 years. The issue happens on a cold startup and is a rattle/grind sound that is either related to the starter or possibly a "cam actuator gear assembly" that Honda even has a TSB open for. We've tried scheduling our car for service and can't seem to get a solid date/time/answer from anyone for weeks - they act like they don't even believe that we have an issue with the car. When we finally DO get an appointment, we get 10+ email/phone call reminders that our appointment is upcoming, BUT, when we go to drop off the car, the whole dealership is closed due to weather. The weather closure is understandable, but the problem is, we CALLED ahead of time to see if they were even open and the receptionist said "oh yes, we've been open all day and we'll be open until 9 - bring it on in!" So we drive all the way to Bowie, and boom...closed. Seriously??? We went out on snowy/icy roads for NO REASON because a receptionist flat out LIED to us. If we could take this car back and get our money returned, we'd do it yesterday. So much for getting the extended/upgraded warranty - we can't even get a simple problem fixed, and now I worry every day that the car will break down and leave my wife stranded somewhere. It's unfathomable to me that we've had to fight so hard to get a BRAND NEW car fixed, not to mention get a loaner car while it's being worked on. Why on EARTH wouldn't that be standard? It's a NEW car, we didn't do anything wrong, it's a known, ongoing problem that Honda probably should do a recall for - you would think that they'd be bending over backwards to get this issue fixed before something (like, maybe the ENGINE) completely breaks and be HAPPY to give us a loaner vehicle. I'm surprised this dealership is still in business.....avoid at all costs. I could vent all day about how horrible this experience has been.... More
My sales associate Ms. Bivens took great care of me. Honda of Bowie was the only dealership who had the exact color and fully loaded Crosstour that I was seeking. I scheduled my appointment the previous evening with Ms. Bivins. She greeted me with the utmost respect and hospitality and didn't waste any time getting to business. She was able to address any questions I had and provided me with a little more informaiton about the vehicle that I didn't know. After the test drive, we got straight to the paperwork and a purchase price that I was able to agree to. At first I was adament about using my credit union to purchase this vehicle. After working with Mr. Davaughn Page, he was able to provide a better intrest rate included with a longer extended warranty. Even that process took less time than I had expected. I would definately recommend purchasing and financing at Honda of Bowie. More
I was looking for a replacement car after the Mazada 3 I had was totaled. I wanted to get a Toyota Corolla, similarly in year and model like another I already have. Progressive insurance directed me to a site that allowed me to review various cars. I came across several cars where I sent in a request to see the cars. All of the responses I got were for me to come in and 'review their inventory of cars'. It seems that they did not care about the car I wanted. I sent a request to Honda of Bowie on 11/28/2013. I got a reply from Jessica Heureaux the next morning saying that the car I requested was available and she was available to show me the car. I called her a few hours later where she gave me all the details on the car and the process for purchasing the car. She even followed up with me on Saturday since I told her that I might go by to look at the car. I went by on Saturday and was very pleasantly surprised that she knew who I was, being that this was the first time we had met in person. She had the keys and car ready for us to take it for a test drive. I told her I wanted the car and I left with the car in less than two hours! She did not have me wait while some manager had to review things or tried to pursue another buyer while dealing with me. I was very pleased with her honesty, mannerism and poise as we went through the hassle-free process of completing the paper work. Jessica has even followed up on my experience with the car since the purchase. I credit this to her professionalism and dedication to her job as a salesperson. I would gladly buy another car from any dealer if she is the salesperson. She is a 5-star salesperson. More
I really enjoyed my experience with Honda of Bowie this past weekend. Kevin Benn is so professional and Elliott had my mom laughing! I even spoke to the Gen Mgr who was a Ravens fan, uugghh, lol. Salesperson's knowledge of the product we purchased was outstanding. She clearly does her homework in order to prepare to engage her customers. The attention she paid to delivering an immaculate vehicle was also appreciated. During our negotiations, she had competition from a dealership located just 3 miles from our home. We ended up buying from Bowie (20 miles away) because of the added service incentives, Brenda's professionalism and demeanor, and frankly the 'bottom line' price. Hard to believe, but this car buying experience was truly a joy. . . Would highly recommend anyone looking to buy a Honda, to ask for Brenda! More
The reason I returned to Honda of Bowie was from past experiences. If it was possible I had a better buying experience than before. I made an inquiry on the internet and Jessica Heureaux responded. I do not like dealing with high pressure sales people. We set up an appointment and I told Jessica what I wanted. From our previous conversation she had a Civic waiting for me to look at and test drive. I had explained to her I did not want to spend hours trying to buy a car. While we test drove the new car she had arranged to have my trade-in appraised. When we returned to the dealership we negotiated the details of the deal. Sylvester Johnson the sales manager remembered me from previous purchases and made sure the deal was the best available. After filling out the finance application I met with Hans Gibbs for processing the loan and necessary paper work. Again no high pressure to purchase add-ons. Jessica then went over all the details of how everything worked and answered all my questions. She was very knowledgeable about the car. The entire process took around two hours which I thought was incredibly quick. Most of the time was spent on me filling out the finance application. I came away with the car I wanted with a great price and excellent financing. I really don't know how things could have gotten any better. I would highly recommend Honda of Bowie to anyone interested in purchasing a new Honda or used car. More
Due to an upcoming and previous surgery on my back,I was in the market for an SUV. When I arrived at Honda of Bowie, I was met by Mr. Elmer Clark. Mr. Clark was very attentive in listening to what I need in the market for an SUV. When I arrived at Honda of Bowie, I was met by Mr. Elmer Clark. Mr. Clark was very attentive in listening to what I needed in a car. I let him know up front that I was only there to test drive and narrow down my options. Other than asking me at the end of of the test drive if I wanted to take the car home, he never pressured me to make a decision. He was very thorough in going over the features of the car, letting me ask as many questions as I needed to make an informed decision. When it came time to begin the negotiation process, I started by submitting a request online. While it did take a few days to get that quote, the quote was very close to another one I had received from another dealer. Because Honda of Bowie is my local dealer and Mr. Clark's attention to detail, I decided to finish my negotiations with him. After a very short conversation and a trip to his managers, we came to an agreement. The car was not on the lot in the color I wanted, so they quickly found the car and had it transferred the next day. The finance office was uneventful and low pressure in trying to sell the additional items, like Lo Jack, etc. The next day, Mr. Clark drove the car to my house to pick me up for delivery. He even spent time showing me how all the gadgets on the media display worked, even trying to help me set up my phone through the Bluetooth feature. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the deal I received on my new CRV and the salesmanship of Mr. Elmer Clark. This was one of the easiest car purchases I have ever made! More
