honda odyssey EX 2003 -- wife felt the transmission slipping (roughtly 97,000 miles). Wife brought the car in to Curry honda dealer monday morning. they want to do a $79 diagnostic. SHE TELLS CURRY THAT THE LAST OIL CHANGE RECOMMENDED A FLUIDS FLUSH SO THEY SHOULD CHECK THAT AND THAT IF ANY WORK WAS AGREED TO BE DONE THEN CHANGE THE OIL. Curry Called us in about 1.5 hours later and said: transmission shot and needs to be replaced as well ecu control (~ $6500 estimate in total) plus another $2000 in other things that they need to get done (timing belt, shocks on back), so roughly 8500 total. The rep also began talking about lease and other deals and trade in values. I Picked the car up. they charged me $113 WHICH included a completed oil change. ** THIS IS THE FIRST SIGN OF UTTER INCOMPETENCE does it make sense to change in the oil in a car that you're saying needs a entire new transmission system..where all fluids would need to be drained? NO...a 20$ can of fluid vs. 6K new transmission! I WAS NOT HAPPY. I dropped it off to a reputable mechanic in the area who is a close friend. He wanted to see it before we left it to curry to do the work because he thought the price was too high. Friend calls me maybe 20 minutes later ON FIRE with anger at your service department that there was NO transmission fluid in the car!!!!!!! Barely a drop. He took a picture of the dipstick before he added the tranny fluid and I have it but can't load it here but I will use the photo when the time comes. He added over a quart then took the car for a 10 mile test drive and the tranny was fine -- not one slip or issue!! Drove it this morning for an hour and it rides perfectly fine. ** HERE'S THE IMPETUS FOR THIS BAD REVIEW --> so curry honda gives my wife an estimate for a brand new tranny plus additional items for 8500, decides to change the oil despite knowing that if I got the work done they would have to drain the fluids anyway, NEVER looked at the god xxxx tranny fluid but spent a lot of time telling my wife about new lease deals and new odyssey deals that were available. and you take over $100 of my money in the process. Incompetent and corrupt! Let me tell you, my confidence in Curry Honda is permanently shattered. I will not promote your dealership in anyway ever again. In fact, I will make it known what you guys did here. I will never buy or service my hondas with you ever again and I'm forwarding a copy of this letter to as many managers and home office representatives as I can. More

All of my encounters with Curry have been great, When I bought my new car, the training sessions, any issues I had with my new car and last but not least my service visits. It felt very nice to be remembered and not feel like just another number or worse, that you are forgotten after your purchase is completed.
