I took my 2019 Crosstrek in for a service appointment because the car alarm kept going off when I would put my hand on the door handle. I had the key fob battery replaced but the problem persisted. I mad because the car alarm kept going off when I would put my hand on the door handle. I had the key fob battery replaced but the problem persisted. I made the appointment 2 weeks in advance because they were too busy to fit me in. I arrived 15 minutes early and was checked in by Matthew. I was told the diagnostic fee would be over $250. I was sent a text by Matthew with a phone number. After 3 1/2 hours, I called the Matthew's number and it went to service department voicemail. So, I went to find Matthew. He said he'd check on it. He came back and said the service department "couldn't recreate the problem." He said they'd waive the diagnostic fee. I left 4 hours later with the problem unsolved. So, I googled what might have been the problem and a list popped up. --check door and hood switches. Inspect dirty or stuck sensors. --check for weak battery (the battery is new) --sensor sensitivity. if the issue persists, the shock or interior sensor might be too sensitive. Was any of that investigated when they were trying to recreate the problem? No. Terrible, terrible service. More
