I recently purchased a used CLK 500 (elsewhere) and needed some reassurance regarding the mechanical condition of the car. Wendy was very attentive to my concerns and gave me a prompt appointment with needed some reassurance regarding the mechanical condition of the car. Wendy was very attentive to my concerns and gave me a prompt appointment with Tom Potter. Tom was extremely responsive to all of my questions. The sevice department did a thorough job of inspecting my car, performed some needed maintenance and advised me about recommended repairs. I believe that I received every courtesy possible from this dealership and would encourage anyone to use them. JoAnn- The Villages FL More
This review is for the Mercedes service department. From day one, it has been nothing but an awful experience. I will be filing a formal complaint with Mercedes USA as well. I recently purchased a 2003 C24 day one, it has been nothing but an awful experience. I will be filing a formal complaint with Mercedes USA as well. I recently purchased a 2003 C240 from a private owner, and thought it would a good idea to take it for a pre-purchase inspection to a "reputable" Mercedes dealer. I was charged $130 for this inspection and was given an inspection sheet which wasn't explained to me, I had to ask what this and that meant. Bottom line, I was told that everything looked good on the car but it needed the A service done within a few hundred miles. This service I was told was around $225. On the inspection sheet, I was told the car had 90% front breaks left and 65% on the rear. I drove the car for about 2 weeks and then went to the same service advisor to perform the A service that it needed. I was given a loaner car but was assured it would not take more then a few hours at most. At the end of the day I contacted the service advisor, and was told that he was waiting on some prices for parts, to which I responded, parts for what? He said he may have the list completed by the end of day but likely the next day early morning. I told him that was fine and waited till mid day the next day, before contacting him again. When I went to pick up my car that evening, I was told that I needed rear breaks (10% life left) and rotors at a price of $550, and because there was no record of this vehicles history, he suggested I would change ( break fluid, coolant, transmission fluid, rear axle fluid) at a cost of about $1300. I kindly reminded him that I had the inspection done only 2 weeks prior, and was told my rear breaks were fine at 65%. He was unable to come up with the inspection sheet, so I returned a few days later with my copy and asked for an explanation. The car was put on the lift, the shop manager proceeded to tell me that he thought there was about 50% left on the rear breaks. So obviously they were trying to sell me parts and labor that I did not need at this time, tried to lie to me about it, and when I had written proof, they told me I would be eligible for a discount on the break job when I decide to do it. Furthermore, they admitted that likely during the pre purchase inspection the wheels were not removed to get an an accurate pad measurement. I feel I did not get my moneys worth ($130) for the pre purchase inspection and they were trying to rip me off for parts that I did not really need at this time. One last complaint I have is that the $225 A service, which is basically an oil change, costs $279 after shop fees and taxes. I personally will never return to this service department or this dealership and recommend you look elsewhere for Mercedes services. Update 6-23-2010 I was contacted by the general manager of Crown Eurocars for a meeting. I was told that a mistake was made and they took full responsibility for it. I was offered the break job, full inspection and a full detail job whenever I would like to have it done, at their cost. I was pleasantly surprised that Crown keeps an eye on reviews left about them and is willing to act to keep their customers happy. I will give the dealership another chance to earn my trust back. I raised the rating to 3 stars and will update this review again when i have completed the service promised by Crown. Update 01/23/2011 Took in my vehicle for the promised break job, full detail, and inspection. Richard Webb was very friendly and help full. The team did a great job and I m very pleased with their work. I will definitely consider doing business with crown Mercedes in the future. I am pleasantly surprised that there are companies out there that still care about their customers happiness. Thank you again Mr Casto and Mr Webb. More
My name is Mike Cofield, active duty service member stationed at McDill AFB Tampa Fl. I just purchased my very first Mercedes Benz and I can't say enough about the amazing staff at Crown Mercedes! stationed at McDill AFB Tampa Fl. I just purchased my very first Mercedes Benz and I can't say enough about the amazing staff at Crown Mercedes! I searched the internet for my dream car and once it found me, I e-mailed several local dealerships in hopes of getting the ball rolling but unfortunately the only responses I received was the usual computer generated "non personal" ones. Al Kirschbaum at Crown Mercedes was the only sales rep to reach out to me in person and that made me feel like more than just a customer but part of an extended family. Al was very kind and knowledgeable; he went over and beyond to make me feel comfortable and appreciated. Bar none my BEST buying experience ever, Thank you very much! your friend mike God Bless More
Customer Service and Friendliness are always excellent in Crown Eurocars; however, price of service is very high! Don't know if that's the standard price to service a Mercedes but it is high! Don't take it w Crown Eurocars; however, price of service is very high! Don't know if that's the standard price to service a Mercedes but it is high! Don't take it wrong, Crown Eurocar made a full disclosure of all the service needed and cost but with this market owning a Mercedes is like owning a second mortgage. More
I have had a cou0le of small service issues on an '06 cpo car I bought in Virginia. I wasn't sure what sort of welcome I would get at the local dealer, but I am pleased to report it was first rate. I only car I bought in Virginia. I wasn't sure what sort of welcome I would get at the local dealer, but I am pleased to report it was first rate. I only downgrade them on price because I think they are simply too high...$80 for a set of wiper blades, for crying out loud! Just because you drive a Mercedes doesn't mean you have no concern for value. However, this is a complex car. Crown was great on a warranty issue; they even gave me a loaner car, which I think is quite generous in that I did not buy the car there. I will return happily for future service needs. Even though the prices seem high, these folks certainly seem honest, straightforward, and fair. More
