Elizabeth, While we understand your frustration with your truck having issues after your purchase, your account of the events are not accurate and our employees and our company are undeserving of such insults. We have a lot of employees and families that make a living at Crown and your statements about our employees are false and completely undeserving. After your internet search you found our vehicle and were obviously pleased with the price of the truck and the value or you wouldn’t have finalized your purchase. We performed a 127 point inspection on your truck and every unit and send the car to auction if it does not pass. In addition we provide our Crown Confidence Plan on our preowned vehicles that covers many of the most expensive parts at no charge to our customers, something most dealers don’t do. Since you don’t live in Chattanooga or Tennessee and purchased the unit sight unseen, we took extra care to make certain the truck was to your satisfaction, including an additional inspection/test drive prior to your purchase by a technician, the sales person and the used car manager. This was all done again prior to shipping. Our employees provided you with a good vehicle at a fair price with a drivetrain warranty for up to 100,000 miles or as long as you own it. In addition your characterization of phone calls and interaction with our staff as unprofessional in any way are false. I did learn that we transferred your call to another employee and may have lost the call, and for that I apologize its wasn’t intentional. I’m certain that no one on my team would deliberately hang up on a customer and if you have the name of my employee that did so I would appreciate the name of that person so I might discuss it with him or her. I personally spoke with you regarding an issue with your tag and the issues you were having with your truck. I advised you that the DMV office in Florida had been trying to contact you in regards to your plates and that all you needed to do was to visit them to sign some documents and retrieve them. When you mentioned that you were experiencing issues with your truck I stated that the unit had the Crown Confidence Plan and that you purchased an extended warranty, so most mechanical drivetrain issues would be covered. I also stated that if you were so dissatisfied with the truck that we could possibly buy it back from you and had my Used Car Manager reach out to you to provide a buy figure. It was then that we learned that the issue with your truck was the clutch. The clutch is a wearable item and is not covered under a warranty and we informed you as such. As I stated earlier, we thoroughly inspected your truck before it was shipped, a clutch is also obvious if it were faulty. If we knew the truck needed a clutch we wouldn’t have shipped it to you. Lastly, our offer to repurchase the is unit still in place, or trade it with us. We do have to figure the cost of replacing the clutch or you would need to have it repaired by a certified mechanic. We would also need to factor in shipping the vehicle back to Chattanooga unless you wish to deliver the unit personally. Sincerely, Ken Nichols, General Manager
