Top 3 reasons my certified vehicle was never inspected. 1. No oil change( oil light on after less then 1500miles and 45 days ownership) 2. Loose Front end part 3. Tires not as promised On Feb 3 2021 I took delivery of a used 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn. I absolutely love the truck. Everyone I met that day including Alan Bryant, Gabriella Cervantes, Jon Bryant, Phil Lebel, and Nicholas Stewart were all respectful, knowledgeable, and professional. The excellent staff here really made the experience great and built my trust in the process, I felt confident I had made the right choice to buy from Crowley. At that time my only concern was that the tire tread depth seemed low. Jon Bryant assured me that the excellent team in the service department had thoroughly inspected the truck, and that the tires had over 50% tread left. With 36000 miles on the truck quick math would say I have 36000 miles of tire left and that it would be a while before I would have to worry about them. On the ride home the truck seemed to ride rough over bumps but I was in new truck bliss and simply figured this Off road truck life. After slipping in the rain and sliding in the snow I took another look at these tires the right side measured 5/32 and the left side measured 6/32. I checked the Falken website and they list new tread depth at 13/32 for this tire. I contacted Jon Bryant and he recommended I have the Service department recheck the tires. The next day I went out for lunch with a friend and he noticed a clunking noise over bumps. I told him that this truck was certified and it’s an off road truck and they ride rough, His simple reply was something is loose in the front end. I crawled under the truck and sure enough the nut on the right front anti sway bar link had been left loose at the factory ( a common problem for 2019 Rams according to the internet) now the nut was seized in place and unable to be tightened. I made an appointment with the service department for the clunk. When I arrived in the service lane I was quickly greeted and kindly directed to Howard Hafford he also met me with the professionalism that I have found through out the rest of the dealership. I told him about the sway bar link and asked if they could check the tires cause they seem to slide in the wet. After a short time my truck had a new sway bar link installed and Howard said my tires were at 6/32 and that was over the 50% needed and I was good to go. When I contacted Howard Brndiar about the specs, since he knew I didn’t think they are at 50%, he told me they only had to be at 4/32 and offered me tires at cost. I still feel that 6/32 is not the “over 50%” that I was promised. Especially since I measured the right side tires at 5/32 and when the new depth is 13/32. Now these tires are probably good enough for some New Deal Used Car lot, but they are not as promised at time of sale. I am disappointed that a real dealership like this, that takes pride in serving their customers, one that employs such great people who work hard everyday to create such a great customer experience does not have a tire policy that is consistent. You guys need to come up with a policy that everyone knows so it can be conveyed to the customer with clarity and certainty. With so much effort put in to every other aspect it is easy to see how I was duped into a false sense of confidence. When a company has a guiding principal of making customers happy simple things like tires should be great not good enough. More
I was quickly checked in, the interior of the vehicle was covered with protective plastic before it was moved to the service area, the work was done quickly, and several additional items were researched and covered with protective plastic before it was moved to the service area, the work was done quickly, and several additional items were researched and addressed without hesitation. I am a tough grader, so 4 stars from me is quite good. The woman who checked me in and the cashier are the best and customer friendly. I was a little displeased with service. It was dropped off the nigh before, 8:30am appointment the next day, did not receive any info on the vehicle until 2pm. Possibly they were busy, but my thought process is - take car for a ride, put on lift - diagnose isue, clla consumer, after the ok, fix issue. possibly could have been done by noon or 1pm. More
