Long story short: had a fixed price offer and financing set through my bank. Criswell Honda told me I was required by federal law to fill out the dealership fnancing request. The salesman said it was manda set through my bank. Criswell Honda told me I was required by federal law to fill out the dealership fnancing request. The salesman said it was mandated by the Patriot Act. Unfortunately for Criswell Honda, I am a lawyer. I knew they were full of it and refused. Still, what should have been a very quick experience (fixed price, check in hand, no test drive, etc.) became a four-hour ordeal as first the salesman and then the finance manager tried every trick in the book to get me to apply for financing. I had to leave the dealership twice (they called me back both times) before I was finally able to buy my car at my fixed price. The dealership was clean and I can't comment on how their sales staff is on other issues but I wouldn't recommend anyone go there simply because of the incredibly hard-sell I got on the dealer financing issue (it was probably the only way they were going to turn any sort of profit on the car). 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful. We had a great experience at Criswell Honda a week ago and just wanted to fill everyone in. We were shopping for a new car, and we wanted something that has alot of room and ruggedness. Well we wound up and just wanted to fill everyone in. We were shopping for a new car, and we wanted something that has alot of room and ruggedness. Well we wound up buying a TRUCK! We drove the Ridgeline after looking at the Pilot and really liked the features in the bed and all that we could do with it. It tool a salesman who knew what he was talking about or we would have never considered that at all. Well there ya go! And this is turning out to be our best vehicle to date in terms of how happy we are. Thank you Criswell Honda! More
I went to Criswell Honda when I was looking for a Ridgeline. I did a lot of research on the internet before I walked in the door. I wanted a truck, and also looked at the Toyotas. But when I got t Ridgeline. I did a lot of research on the internet before I walked in the door. I wanted a truck, and also looked at the Toyotas. But when I got to Criswell Honda, I could not pass up the deal I got. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the process was and how helpful the salesmen were that helped me. They had the truck right there on the lot that I wanted. How refreshing! I had a great experience at Criswell Honda….hope you try them too. More
You'll get a lot of love when you are shopping for the car, but as soon as you leave the lot w/ a car you purchased, the feeling of love ends. And don't put much value in their word when they make promis car, but as soon as you leave the lot w/ a car you purchased, the feeling of love ends. And don't put much value in their word when they make promises before a purchase, make sure you get it in writing. They have a document called "Due on Deal". This is a true commitment that they will give you the service you promised. I was able to get one thing in writing before leaving the dealership w/ a car, but I was promised another thing verbally. They now act like they never promised me anything. If I lost the due on deal slip. they wouldn't even given me the other item they promised me. As mentioned, just dont expect a lot of love from the dealership after signing on the dotted line. Check everything thoroughly in the car before leaving (including all computer features of the vehicle). If there is some feature missing and they promise to give it to you if you purchase the vehicle, make sure you get it in writing. I probably wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone. This is by far the worst treatment I have ever received from a dealership after having purchased a car from them. More
Highly recommend Criswell. I rate them a bit above Hersons and Sport and better than other local dealers such as Shockley and far, far better than the gip joints Ourisman and College Park. Criswell's Hersons and Sport and better than other local dealers such as Shockley and far, far better than the gip joints Ourisman and College Park. Criswell's internet sales department is state-of-the-art, very modern. Criswell will give you a good price and they work with you on a trade-in value and financing. They will not be upset if you counter any of their offers, they are reasonable. Equally important, they will work with you after the sale. Unlike most other dealers, especially Ourisman and College Park, I have never seen Criswell attempt to trick thier customers with overpriced addendums like they do down at Ourisman. I would be very suspicious of any positive postings for Ourisman and College Park. My experience with them coupled with the many negative reviews all over the internet does not support any positives. Shop at Criswell or even Hersons or Sport and you will receive your best overall deal. More
I had a great experience leasing my Honday Odyssey from Criswell Honda on March 24th. I made appointment with Stephanie Dewey and got my car appraised around lunch time. Then we negotiated the price over p Criswell Honda on March 24th. I made appointment with Stephanie Dewey and got my car appraised around lunch time. Then we negotiated the price over phone by 5pm and I went with my family and signed the lease and picked up the van in the evening. They gave me what they promised and had all the numbers we agreed in writing on official dealer papers before I started the credit application. Nobody tried to play any tricks and no pressure tactics as well. Other folks at the dealership seemed to be friendly and nice as well. I would highly recommend this dealership and especially Stephanie Dewey for sales if you need a new Honda. By the way, they also gave me the highest value for my 2007 Odyssey trade-in. This was very much a relief and pleasant experience after I fell victim to the deception and dishonesty of Ourisman Honda Bethesda a few days earlier. Glad I did not end up buying anything from Ourisman Bethesda.? More
very pushy! The guy didn't understand what I meant by "the navi screen resolution is poor". He kept saying, ok lets talk about it inside. Never did I even test drive the car, I had litterlly just sat d "the navi screen resolution is poor". He kept saying, ok lets talk about it inside. Never did I even test drive the car, I had litterlly just sat down and started the car. Then when I started asking questions, he said "is your car in our repair shop? Are you just looking?" Why would I waste my time and his if I wasn't interested? When I told him no, my car is not in your repair shop, he said "let me get my manager", I told him for the fifth time, I wanted to know more about the car, not just buy it without knowing anything. Then I walked away, when he saw my lexus, he came and banged on the window trying to get me to come inside. The best was when he said the car is a 2010, but on the sticker it said 09. When I pointed it out, guess what he said..."let's go inside and talk about it"! More
Internet Sales guy was great, but that was where the good stopped. The finance guy tried to pull a bait and switch, not once, but twice during the transaction. He initially over-inflated several of the i stopped. The finance guy tried to pull a bait and switch, not once, but twice during the transaction. He initially over-inflated several of the items to derive a monthly figure (the worst was he picked a state that had higher sales tax so that the total amount was higher). He then pulled the switch on us for extended warranty saying he could work out a great deal and keep our monthly no more than a couple of bucks higher. I watched as he changed the state and then attempted to charge full-price for the warranty. I asked him how that worked out and he just kept referring to the monthly amount - that it was only $5 more. Then he said, ok, he would 'throw' in the tire/wheel warranty - changed a few more numbers and came up with a monthly amount $6 higher than the original amount (before the base warranty). Again, I called him on it because the contract had us paying full price for BOTH warranties. Very sneaky and downright dishonest in my opinion. I wonder how many people they have ripped off that either weren't paying attention or were confused by their tactics. More
I usually go to Herson's for service but decided to try Criswell since it's much easier to get in and out of. The experience was a good one -the only thing I would mention is that their 60k mile service Criswell since it's much easier to get in and out of. The experience was a good one -the only thing I would mention is that their 60k mile service is about $100 more than Herson's but includes more items - I have not had the time to research if those extra items are recommended by Honda or not - maybe they are. I wish they would have showed me something from the Honda documentation that shows that all the items are in fact recommended. They also have a Hertz rental right in the service area so that makes it MUCH more convenient than waiting for someone from Enterprise to come over and pick you up and schlep you back to their office to get a car. Horrible experience -- read the negative reviews before you even attempt to go to this dealership. They try to lie, scam, cheat, and everything else to add $ to your purchase. Victor in finance absolutel you even attempt to go to this dealership. They try to lie, scam, cheat, and everything else to add $ to your purchase. Victor in finance absolutely tried to scam us by having us sign things that we had no intention to purchase. An absolute xxxx of society scamming people into spending extra money by putting it in the contract without telling you and showing you a "different" contract first, then swapping it with another one to have you sign. Absolute xxxx. It's these type of people that give salesmen, and Honda, a bad name. I can only hope that something is done. More
