My experience at Criswell Jeep was very positive from my initial call right through picking up my new Jeep Liberty. I had done my research and knew model/features/price range I was interested in and called initial call right through picking up my new Jeep Liberty. I had done my research and knew model/features/price range I was interested in and called the dealership. I was very upfront that I was a loyal Jeep customer (2 Jeeps in 23 years with a combined mileage of over 600,000 miles) and was looking for not only a new vehicle but a dealership with a quality service department should I ever need repairs. I was put through very quickly to Bob Jeffries who was courteous, helpful in answering my questions, verified the vehicle I was interested in and had seen on their internet ad was still available, gave me dealership hours, and availability of current Jeep promotions for vehicle. He invited me to view the vehicle in person but was not high pressure. I did not make an appt but decided to stop in anyway about an hour before closing on the last day of a major Chrysler end-of-year promotion. Although the dealership was very busy (last car buying day of the year), Mr. Jeffries asked if I could wait, offered refreshments and quickly arranged for me to be shown the vehicle. It pulled up for the initial view and test drive in immaculate condition w/ 15 miles on it. The person that went on the test drive with me was also courteous and friendly and let me enjoy trying out all the features. He had just joined the Criswell team and was excited about the opportunity to work there. When we returned, Mr. Jeffries had the sales sheet, promotions that could be applied, warranty information, etc organized which we reviewed together. He was very knowledgable and answered all of my numerous questions about product features and price directly with no pressure tactics. I indicated I would need some time to think over a potential purchase and he explained that Criswell would be open for four hours on New Year's Day and that he could hold the vehicle until early afternoon if I wanted to take advantage of the Jeep end-of-the-year promotion. I did call, made a counter-offer, and drove in late afternoon on New Year's Day. My offer was accepted and I agreed to purchase the vehicle. Mr. Jeffries introduced me to the on-duty finance team member, Mr. Duncan, who went over the types of financing/rates/terms that I would qualify for and was also thorough, courteous and very helpful comparing various financing packages and explaining about various insurance/additional dealer products. He asked and the dealership Sales Manager gave me the additional time I needed to compare rates and I was able to close our deal the next day. When I came to pick up my new vehicle, I purchased some additional floor/cargo mats in the service dept with Mr. Jeffries which were then put in Jeep for me. Mr. Jeffries and I then went over operating the vehicle and final inspections. I was congratulated by the Sales Manager on getting a great vehicle for a very good price (verified by my lender) and an excellent financing package. Criswell, especially Bob Jeffries, gets a 5-Star rating from me for their professionalism, product knowledge and willingness to work with an unknown-to-them potential new buyer. Mr. Jeffries is a gentlemen in the true sense of the word and I have already recommended the dealership and him to my professional colleagues and my lending institution. My only regret is that Mr. Jeffries will probably be retired when it comes time for me to purchase another new Jeep, hopefully a decade from now. More
I was not satisfied with other dealers and contacted Criswell to schedule an appointment. Leon Travis immediately contacted me and provided very thorough and friendly service. He was prompt and was alwa Criswell to schedule an appointment. Leon Travis immediately contacted me and provided very thorough and friendly service. He was prompt and was always available at the scheduled times. If I was unable to reach Leon since he was with another customer, the sales Manager Ale immediately handled my question and didn't keep me waiting. I bought a 2013 Grand Cherokee and couldn't have been happier with the experience with Leon and Criswell. I definitely will recommend them to others, and I plan to make future purchases with Criswell. Sincerely, Jeff. More
The key characteristics of good car salesmen are the fact that they are engaging, likeable, and enthusiastic ... But that alone will not make a good car salesman. In addition, you have to know the product th that they are engaging, likeable, and enthusiastic ... But that alone will not make a good car salesman. In addition, you have to know the product that you are selling. Mike Long is one of the few, if not only one now that I'm thinking back, that possess all of these characteristics. He made the process of purchasing our new car seamless and enjoyable! Usually not words you would describe when going to buy a car. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone looking to buy a new car. I know we will definitely be visiting him again on our next purchase! More
We went in merely to look at a new Fiat Arbath. Steve was very nice and really walked us through the entire car. He gave us a good price for a car they had in stock and we took it home that day. wanted to trade in my Fiat Pop 500 for a new 2013 Abarth. wanted to trade in my Fiat Pop 500 for a new 2013 Abarth. Tony Goicochea was the person who assisted me when I purchased the 2012 Fiat Pop - which I had to do very quickly in an "emergency" situation (for me) where we were putting the Chair and Founder of Ashoka on a plane for a trip across India-Asia-China and then back through Seattle, but also setting up a dinner with extremely VIP White House staff right before. I had a freak accident with a Smart car I owned striking something metal (that looked like a bumper or something that fell off the rear of a truck) laying across a dimly lit section of 495 right before the American Legion bridge where I was upon this thing before I could possibly avoid hitting it. I didn't think there was that much damage to the Smart car but it turned out that plastic cars just don't hold up well when they run into freak things like brush or scrap metal. In any case, I was completely stressed because I HAD NO TIME WHATSOEVER TO DEAL WITH FINDING ANOTHER CAR and I only had the rental for a week with the insurance I had (and I wanted to settle that) - but we were still working literally around the clock to put Mr. Drayton on that plane. I asked a really close friend of mine who has been like my mother for more than a quarter century what car I should think about and quickly explained how impossible the situation was for me. She said "go look at Fiat. Sort of similar to a Smart car in terms of green efficiency, safety, etc., but METAL. And - this is IMPORTANT - Italian-American!" I trust my friend but I still was dreading this whole experience. Tony Goicochea made the entire experience of purchasing a new vehicle absolutely painless, almost effortless, and best of all FAST. Tony can be a bit disarming - because just when you thin he isn't focused on doing his job, he is. He has a winning way of focusing in on people and figuring out where they are coming from and what it is they need and doing it quickly and then matching up what he has to offer with their needs. If he doesn't know the right answer, he will find it for you or figure out who does. Better: when I deal with Tony, I sense that he really likes the cars he is selling. He loves Fiat. He is enthusiastic about what he has to offer and he can tell you in a word or two why what he has to offer is better than what someone else is offering. He is also a bit like the kid next door - you feel completely comfortable with him. You don't get the feeling that he'd tell you any thing just to sell you the car (in fact, you will be sure he wouldn't). He is sincere, hard-working, dedicated, attentive, focused, loyal to his brand, ambitious, and my guess is that he is going to be extremely successful. Fiat rescued Chrysler a couple of years back. They know own 51 percent of Chrysler Corporation. All Chrysler products are, in one fashion or another, being redesigned to integrate some of the best elements of the Fiat brand. Fiat and its subsidiary companies have been buildings some of the world's most beautiful cars for decades in Europe. The little truth is that Italy's number one family is the Agnelli family (not the mafia). Make no mistake about it. This time around, I wanted to upgrade from just the FIAT Pop 500, which was a beautiful car, to the Abarth, which is kind of like the 500 on steroids. Google You Tube Tony Criswell Fiat Abarth and you will find Tony demo-ing the car. It is really an awesome car with a lot of bang. Once again, Tony came through for me. The only problem we had was with the installation of a new computer system which slowed down the process of actually getting the new vehicle registered. We were there this time a little longer than the original split-second visit. But we had fun. We made cappucino. Other Abarth owners came in and told us all about the car. Tony went out of his way to be as helpful as possible and still wait on other people who were arriving to see him. I would highly recommend that everyone who has even the slightest curiosity about these neat "little" cars from Fiat (they are not nearly as little as people seem to think), head on over to Gaithersburg and see Tony Goicochea (don't worry if you cannot pronounce his last name; just as for Tony). Oh, and bring your dog(s)! You will need them for the closing photo session where Tony hands you the key: New Owner-Dog(s)-Tony with Key. It is an Agnelli family tradition or so I heard. More
We did our online homework before visiting two dealerships this weekend, narrowing down our choices to three vehicles, including the Fiat. Saturday was dealership day, where we visited several de dealerships this weekend, narrowing down our choices to three vehicles, including the Fiat. Saturday was dealership day, where we visited several dealers, ultimately deciding on the Fiat as our first car choice, but we were uncertain about our first dealer choice. We didn't get an actual price from the first Fiat dealer we visited, but after asking several times for specifics, we got a "range" that seemed to be much higher than we anticipated. On Sunday, we looked online and discovered that Criswell Fiat had many, many, many cars from which to select, so we made the drive to Gaithersburg. It was worth the drive! We perused the lot by ourselves for the perfect amount of time before Fred McKinney came out to introduce himself and offer his assistance. Fred was very polite and professional. My guess is that Fred is fairly new at Criswell, but I already knew and liked the car, so I simply wanted a fair and sincere sales person to work with me to see what it would take to get a reasonable deal. We considered buy options and lease options. We weren't entirely sure if we were ready to buy yet, but we felt immediately comfortable with Fred. When we talked details in the beautiful showroom, Giles (the sales manager) came over to talk with us. After a couple of hours of very low-key negotiating, we settled on a price, and we were comfortable enough to happily make the purchase. We worked out some details with Fred, and we met with Jackie for the financing part. She was also wonderful to work with. Even Steve Schulman, another sales rep, helped out. It was obvious that Giles and the management folks at Criswell really emphasize a team atmosphere. After our purchase, Fred again reviewed the features of the car, and even helped to program the Bluetooth capability, while Steve put our temporary tags on the vehicle. I'm in my fifties, and I've probably owned at least 18-20 vehicles. This may have been the most pleasant overall buying experience of them all. In fact, as I'm writing this review, I just got an email from Fred, my sales person, following up on our transaction from yesterday. They even had us sign their art board as part of their family, and Fred took pictures of us with our new car. The team at Criswell doesn't come across as most dealers I've dealt with, where they are under so much pressure to close the deal immediately, or where they won't give you real information when you ask for it. They really seem to genuinely care about your buying experience. We couldn't be happier. More
