Just moving to MD gave me a week to find a car before starting a new job. I looked in MD and Northern VA. Some dealers had friendly salesmen with low pressure sales techniques (and sales managers that tried to apply the pressure) and others were the typical reason car salesmen and their sales managers have a bad name with many car shopping customers. After looking on the internet and in person for 5-6 days, I had a hard time finding exactly the car I wanted - a Certified Pre-Owned Malibu, fair mileage in great condition and at a reasonable price. I was lucky to get connected with Doug Levene at Criswell Chevrolet. Although it was a long drive from my location, it was WELL worth my time. Doug knew what I wanted via email and phone contact and we coordinated a day/time for me to visit with him. When I arrived, he was well prepared, friendly and informative. He was quick to adapt to a conflict - he had some buyers ahead of me that had some issues with finance. He bounced between finance, his other customers and me, but always ensured my questions were answered and I was happy. After I looked over the 3 cars, I found one with low tire pressure. I went in to find Doug and talked with Brian behind the sales desk. While Brian tried to find Doug via PA, it was evident that none of the other salesmen standing around were going to help solve the problem. Doug quickly found me and I told him the problem. He took the car to service for a quick fix. I test drove all 3 cars and narrowed it down to 2. We sat down and came to a reasonable price that was good for the dealer and me then out the details. Doug is a man that knows customer service and other sales reps should learn from his example. When I returned to pick up my car, he personally ensured everything was perfect to my satisfaction before I left. We had a small issue in Finance, but Jackie ensured it was quickly taken care of and let me know what was going on all the time. The Criswell team made buying this car a great experience. Thanks Doug and Jackie for being true professionals and great at your jobs! I would recommend Doug and Jackie at Criswell Chevrolet for anyone that wants to be treated to great customer service. More
I just purchased my second truck from Criswell Chevrolet and the experience was positive both times. I liked his willingness to communicate via email (always promptly) and to put numbers in writing and stick to them. All in all the process was painless and quick - and I felt I got a good deal on a great truck. The finance process was handled by Greg Hoffman and was also a quick and positive experience. I have also used Criswell's service department over the past couple of years for both basic maintenance and major repairs and always feel I get quality work at a fair price. More

I'd like to thank Stefan Kube for a great car-buying experience. I appreciated his no-pressure approach when I test drove and bought my new Chevrolet Equinox LTZ from Criswell last week. Stefan competently answered my questions without telling me how the Equinox was the greatest vehicle in the history of the world, how the price was going to expire in five minutes and without trying silly salesman tricks on me. I also appreciated that I didn't need to deal with multiple salesmen and that the overall car-buying back and forth was very quick and efficient. I'd highly recommend Stefan and Criswell, especially when I compare them to some of their competition (a salesman from another dealership keeps calling me, even after I told him that I had already bought the car). Derrek Davis was professional from the start - providing additional photos of the vehicle which proved much better quality than the internet site for Criswell Chevy. Those photos made the sale as I had no desire to drive 40 miles to look at a Suburban without first knowing exactly what I was going to look at and possibly buy. Derrek also provided just the right amount of pre-sale communication - seeking to schedule a visit time that worked for me, and going so far as prepping the car the day I planned to visit. Just the right number of call backs - and when I asked him to txt or email me - he did without fail. I arrived early on Sunday - not discussed with Derrek - and Brian Geist and Dan Drayton provided help while Derrek made his way to the dealership. Dan provided one of the best test-drive narratives I've heard and seen in a long time. Positive attitude and professional. I had failed to show the previous weekend and again on Saturday, so I didn't want to schedule a time with Derrek on Sunday and fail to show again - hence the surprise for Derrek. Derrek took over from Dan and walked my wife and I through the car - very professional and courteous to us both and my wife and I liked him the moment we met him. The car had been cleaned and prepped, but my wife and I noticed sloppy leather cleaning. Derrek noticed immediately and took care of it - but he shouldn't be spending his time doing the prep-crew's job. I wanted the car immaculate - Derrek fixed it - but it wasn't solid from the start as it should be. Mr. Criswell - something to fix. First impressions count, just as they do and customers are greeted politely by the front desk (which we were), that same courtesy could be shown throughout the showroom. The negotiation was tedious. Of particular note - the sale price on Derrek's terminal was $500 more than the sale price on your internet site. That was bad for business and had Derrek handled it the wrong way could have been a sale killer. Mr. Crisell - fix your web site. As for negotiation - Criswell purchase price and cost overhead is irrelevant to your customer. It's a depreciating asset sitting on the lot. Customers will rave about the cheap stuff sir, all weather mats are cheap, especially if that same customer isn't driving 40 miles for 8 free oil changes. The financing with Don Boone was fantastic and professional. No bull, no fuss, straight business which is the way I would prefer buying cars. Derrek sealed the close, walking me through the car again with my wife, cleaning up the vehicle from bumper to bumper, and demonstrating the same professionalism that kept us in Criswell through the deal. Could not say better about Derrek, Don, or Dan. Brian - as the sales manager I'd recommend you get up and say thank you for buying with Criswell. Make time to say thank you for buying with Criswell, in person. After all - no customers mean no business. Good luck to everyone at Criswell. This is my first Chevy purchase ever - honestly I hope it is the first of many. DWM More

I didn't buy a car after my test drive / first visit with Russell, however, I did tell Russell that I really felt compelled because I liked him so much. Russell continued to follow up with me and through his last follow up regarding an additional incentive available to me he convinced me to buy my 2012 Equinox LTZ AWD. Russell was very professional, courteous, and I didn't feel like he was taking advantage of me. As a woman shopping for a car by herself, I was very wary that I might be seen as an easy 'mark.' Russell never made me feel that way and I did trust him that he was giving me the best deal possible and that I would be taken care of at Criswell Chevrolet. That's why I've given the rating I have and why I would always recommend family and friends looking for a car to contact Russell. More
