Brought newly purchased used vehicle in for a total comprehensive check and asked to be made aware of any issues. Was given the normal oil change without any information on mechanical issues that might need attention now or in future. Customer service agent was flippant and not focused. I asked for a service that he forgot to apply to the work order. Automatic window on driver's door was broken after service was completed. I didn't address the issue for fear that more would be broken if I took it back to be fixed. More
CrainVolkswagen is the best service we have ever had with our cars over the years. The staff was very informative about the situation and helpful and checked our car out. Took my 2003 Passat in for a heater core change. They change the heater core 5k and then proceeded to continue to drive my car and overheat it repeatedly until they ruined the motor. Car ran fine They change the heater core 5k and then proceeded to continue to drive my car and overheat it repeatedly until they ruined the motor. Car ran fine when I took it in, it just had antifreeze in the passenger floorboard. They called me months later and said the car was ready to go. I picked it up on a Saturday and got approximately 10 miles down the road and the temperature started climbing antifreeze pouring out everywhere. Luckily I was by the Lowell exit and coasted off the exit and made it to a parking lot. Called them on Monday and told them they needed to go tow it back and fix it right. After that they repeatedly drove it trying to get it to not overheat. Finally they called me and told me they had to take the head off because a cylinder had too much compression. At that point they called me back weeks later and told me the motor was bad the head was warped and a new motor would be 9k to $12k used. I told them I would just pick up the car and asked if it was it put back together and they said they weren’t going to put it back together they were just gonna give me a pile of parts. After some words and me telling them that wasn’t going to work, they agreed to put the motor back together, God knows if it’s even right. I wouldn’t send my ex-wife to this dealership and I can’t stand that xxxxx. I drove this car every day to work and back and it ran fine. Didn’t burn any oil, didn’t leak any antifreeze until the day I noticed it in the floorboard of my passenger seat Worthless, lying Service Dept. Incompetent mechanic shop. And yes, I have all this in text and emails. More
