Brian since I am not sure what type of battery your wife purchased I cannot address the purchase price of the battery. In general, yes today's batteries can be rather expensive with all of the electronics and specialized programs that vehicles have today, batteries do so much more that just start the vehicle. No longer in the market - found my perfect non-Hyundai vehicle for MSRP plus dealer fee and it was verified as correct! Drove it home and enjoying it! So much for "the way the market is these days."
