TUSCAN Husband checked under the hood before leaving on a road trip. Battery had acid all over it. Husband cleaned off the acid and unplugged the battery to reset the battery (weather changed cause tire pressure light to be on). After resetting the battery the car wouldn’t start, not even with a jump. Husband took the battery out but because of all the previous acid one cable disintegrated during the process of pulling the battery out. After some research the dealership was the only way to get a new one. We had to get the car towed, and the part had to be ordered. No loner car was offered, and we ended up having to rent a car for our trip to visit family. The dealership called on Monday, and said the part was going to be $350, (if you bought the generic one without sensors at orileys it’s under $25). I had just had an oil change in mid November and I asked if there was anyway we could of caught this issue sooner and the man on the phone said no, and it was all my husbands fault for touching the battery to begin with. He said the part would be in in a few days. We had returned the rental car and asked If there was anyway I could get a loner because by husband and I have different work schedules and he said he didn’t have any. So thankfully on Wednesday when I picked up my car the bill was cheaper than what they said on the phone. However the November oil change, that I had a scheduled appointment for was over 2.5 hours. I purchased the car from Bentonville and their service department was always rude so I started going to Fayetteville thinking they may be friendlier. So when this car is payed for, I do not plan on purchasing another vehicle from them. More
