I have been car shopping for months now. I came back to Cox Chevy for the second time and had a wonderful experience working with Jim Volpe in sales. He worked well with me with me finding me the car I wan Cox Chevy for the second time and had a wonderful experience working with Jim Volpe in sales. He worked well with me with me finding me the car I wanted in my price range. He made it a smooth & easy process and was not "pushy" at all like some car salesman are. I would recommend Cox Chevy to anyone looking for a great car buying experience. (And ask for Jim Volpe!!) More
I have purchased a few different new vehicles from Cox Chevrolet in Bradenton and the sales staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. I keep coming back to this particular dealership for one reaso Chevrolet in Bradenton and the sales staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. I keep coming back to this particular dealership for one reason. The service after the sale. I have been dealing with Rick Seaton for over 10 years and have always been treated very well. My comfort level with Rick and his recommendations on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 10. He always explains my options clearly and let's me make the decisions rather than pushing me into something that I may feel is unnecessary. I have been sold certain service packages in the past by other dealerships and have not returned due to the lack of trust factor. Rick Seaton is the sole reason I keep coming back to Cox Chevrolet. I had an excellent car buying experience at Cox Chevy this past weekend! I had a list of vehicles that I had found on their website that I wanted to look at, and Jon patiently took me to every one of th this past weekend! I had a list of vehicles that I had found on their website that I wanted to look at, and Jon patiently took me to every one of them (that was still available) to look them over, and even drove my family out to the "back lot" to look at the cars that they had coming in but were not quite through the process to ready them for sale. He was extremely personable and put NO pressure on me to buy one car or the other. He listened to what I was looking for and helped me narrow down my (many!) options by cost and features. I am EXTREMELY pleased with the deal that I got on my car - practically new for half MSRP. I told Jon my price range, and I appreciated the fact that he did not focus immediately on my top number, but rather on the vehicle that I wanted. He stayed an extra 2 and a half hours to help me finalize my decision, and sat with me and my family and kept up a very friendly conversation while the paperwork was processing. I truly feel like Jon treated me as a friend rather than as a nameless/faceless sale. The next day when I went back to pick up my car, Jon personally put my tag on the car and made sure that everything was perfect and taken care of before I drove off the lot. No buyer's remorse here! As far as the dealership as a whole is concerned, I knew in the back of my mind that I was going to buy a car from Cox Chevy that day as soon as I walked in the door. I took a good look at the staff and the customers when I walked in. First of all, they were BUSY - a great sign that they are making deals at reasonable prices. And the customers looked comfortable - not stressed. The sales staff weren't all in a huddle, searching out the "best" potential customers, but rather were very friendly as they scurried around helping their customers. I've read horror stories about the pressure from the "F&I guys" in the back (in general - not specific to this dealership), but I experienced nothing like that. Mike (I can't remember his last name at the moment, but it started with a D) simply asked if I was interested in an extended warranty (the vehicle I purchased was certified, and therefore already under warranty), and I declined. And that was it. He just moved on to the official sales documents, got everything wrapped up, and we were out the door! Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend purchasing a car from Cox Chevrolet, especially if you get the opportunity to work with Jon Herman. My family and I will be purchasing our future vehicles from them, without a doubt! More
I went there to see about a paint issue and Rick took me over to see Mike in detail. I fully expected to have to make an appointment for my hood to be painted but instead, Mike buffed out the spots and it over to see Mike in detail. I fully expected to have to make an appointment for my hood to be painted but instead, Mike buffed out the spots and it was good as new. You can't imagine how excited I was since I only have about 3000 miles on this car and the problems came from a gag gift. Everyone at Cox Chevrolet has been extremely nice and helpful no matter when I come in there. My favorite though, has to be my salesman Peter Torres. He is always so nice, sincere and I've never seen him without a huge smile on his face. He is not there to sell you a car, he's selling you a Chevrolet because he truly believes in them. I am certain at this point in time, when I am ready for a new car, I will be getting another from Cox Chevrolet. More
The worst in service, ever! I asked for an estimate on my vehicle. I left to go shopping and when I returned and they decided to fix it without my authorization and tried to charge me. I signed nothing and w vehicle. I left to go shopping and when I returned and they decided to fix it without my authorization and tried to charge me. I signed nothing and was under the impression my extended warranty covered everything. After a call to GM, they had no choice but to call it a "Goodwill" gesture. Another incident was when they needed to keep my car overnight and I needed a rental car which is covered under my warranty. I did not want to use Enterprise which is at their onsite location. I went home without a rental car. After a call to GM I found out my extended warranty wilI cover ANY rental car agency. The service man told me he was NOT allowed to inform me of this because they have some sort of contract with enterprise. I would advise NO ONE to do business with people like this. More
i traded in my 2011 camaro that i bought brand new at this dealership because i saw a car that i had been looking for on their lot which was a 2012 chrysler 300,i wanted something bigger with 4 doors,i l this dealership because i saw a car that i had been looking for on their lot which was a 2012 chrysler 300,i wanted something bigger with 4 doors,i loved my camaro and did miss it when i traded it,well i had the 2012 chrysler for 21 day had signed all paperwork and then i get this phone call from cox that they now need more money down,i told them that i didn't know if i could do this and they said well lets see what we can do,i then told them to forget it i thought that thatwas bad business to wait 21 days to tell me this when i thought evrything was fine and that i would be back for my camaro in 2 hours, well when i got there a young boy brought my car around front, they hadn't even removed the white stuff they write all over the windows with which was very hard to get off, well when i got in my car my low tire pressure light was on and i thought ok my car sat for 21 days maybe the tire lost air,so i figured i my as well get air while i am here so i walked around my car and saw that their was a nail in my tire and then saw other damage to my camaro,it was all scraped up underneath my front fender was pulled away and i then pulled the contract from my purse to look at the mileage from when i traded my car in and their was a difference of 38 miles so before i left the parking lot i called my sales man and told him and he told me i needed to speak to larry,i tried contacting him 3 times from the parking lot and could not get him to answer so i left a message,i had my 8 year granddaughter with me and did not want her to see me so upset so i did not go inside at that time,i also had to get her home so i could go to work,i continued to call 4 times through out the week and he would not call me back so i called the owner and got his voicemail,a little later john rudd the general manager called me and was concerned,i told him that someone at his car lot took my car on a joy ride and that their was damage to the body of the car and it also did not run the same and that the suspension felt wrong so he told me to bring it in the next day and he would have it fixed so i brought it in and they gave me a rental,2 days later i recieved a phone call from eric in service wanting to know if i had talked to john and i told him no he went on to tell me that john was waiting on my salesman to come in and were going to put me in another car, well i called john back later that day and his whole additude changed he became very, very rude and told me that they were not going to fix anything on my car saying that my damage wasn't fresh and let me tell you their was not anything wrong with my car when i traded it,i always had it serviced there, they also gave me a good trade in value for my car and if it had been damaged would they have done that,he also started coming up with all kinds of excuses including the salesman being friends with my family,i had never met my salesman ever until i stepped on that lot,and i don't even know what that was supposed to mean,i then called and left a voicemail for steve cox in which he called me back but got absolutely no where with,i do not recomend this car lot to anyone very bad business,i am contacting other resources to help me with this issue,i will not stop until my car is fixed and they make it right. Kenny was very helpful and took his time with me. I was uncertain of the vehicle I wanted but his experience made up for that. I ended up buying a 2013 Mazda 6, the best car I've ever owned. This was my best new car buying experience ever. No high pressure sales tactics, just a great group of employees who interacted more like family than coworkers. The salesman, Joel, was professsional, knowl pressure sales tactics, just a great group of employees who interacted more like family than coworkers. The salesman, Joel, was professsional, knowledgeable, and very helpful in keeping the numbers reasonable. The fellow who did the financing was quick and efficient, and someone even went over all the car features with me before I left. I will go back to Cox Chevrolet the next time I need a new car and I would certainly recommend them to others. More

June 9, 2012 Certified Letter # 7004 1160 0004 3913 0111 Return Receipt & US Mail Attention: Service Director- Joe Mac Donald & Daryl Williams COX Chevrolet Service 2900 Cortez Road Bradenton, Florida 33906 Dear Joe Mac Donald & Daryl Williams; We are writing to you with regard to our 2003 R-Vision Trail-Lite 225- Chevy 3500 motorhome. Vin # 1 G B J G 3 1 R 4 2 1 2 1 9 4 8 0 We are trying to investigate a problem that we had with a recent service at your location on Monday, June 4, 2012. An oil change and filter was ordered for that service for $29.99. We also stated that the vehicle had stalled out 2 or 3 times , the day before. We were unaware that , you were going to perform all this complicated diagnostic service, And charge us so much money of over $350.00. And….After all of your service that kept us there the whole day, upon driving the vehicle, it was still stalling for the next several days. Cox Chevy did not correct this stalling problem. Consequently on Saturday, June 9, 2012 the vehicle stalled completely and would not start at all. In the pouring rain. We had to call Geico Insurance Emergency road service to come out to investigate the problem. Dave’s Tow Service, Ocala, Florida 352-867-5810 came out for the service. Upon the tow truck technicians review and investigation into the problem, he checked the cable connections to the battery. There was a very loose cable bracket and he then used his tools to tighten the cable properly. He then turned the key in the ignition and the vehicle started up immediately….! That was the problem resulting in the stalling…! Since that emergency service, the vehicle has not stalled again. With all your fancy equipment at Cox Chevy, computer checks, visual checks, sales technicians and your detailed confusing paperwork, your Cox Chevy mechanic never checked the battery cable connections…!! Which should have been a routine responsibility that should have been done… to quickly resolve the problem…! How dare you ……….! over charge us for all this service that did not solve the problem. You made a “Mountain out of a Mole Hill”…! at our expense of money, time and energy and caused much unnecessary stress. Furthermore, after we re-read all your confusing invoice and paperwork we noted; you listed on your “Certified Diagnosis Check List” a small notation at the bottom of the sheet; “that there was a leak at the right rear bearing.” This was never brought to our attention at the time of service. This repair was just completed by Tire Kingdom in March of 2012. It was very important for us to know this information because of the hazard it could have caused to the brakes on the road back to Connecticut and that it need to be attended to immediately. We had to find the next Chevy dealer in order to have the axle examined and we did take it to Palm Chevy in Ocala, Florida on Monday, June 10, 2012. Also, during your servicing your mechanic also damaged one of the wheel covers. You asked me to return the next morning Tuesday, June 5, 2012, and that your parts department would locate a new wheel cover. I had to delay my trip back North but I did return to Cox Chevy the next day. I sat there all day, however your parts department could not figure out how to locate the replacement wheel cover. This wheel cover should not have been that difficult to locate, yet your parts department could not get it done. I had to locate the wheel cover myself and I am anticipating a reimbursement from Cox Chevy for $100.00. In addition, I expect a full refund of all diagnostic charges and throttle cleaning, because you did not properly diagnose the stalling problem with the vehicle and created additional services to deliberately overcharge me for this service. $350.00 + $100.00 = I will anticipate a check sent to my home address, stated above on this letterhead.
