A little Covert History.
In 1909, Frank M. Covert, Sr., a real estate and insurance businessman opened the first automobile dealership in Central Texas. Three years later, his son, Clarence Covert, Sr., joined him to form the Austin Buick Sales Company, which became the foundation for Covert Buick, Inc., the oldest Buick dealership in Texas today.
Frank M. Covert Sr. was succeeded in the business by his two sons, Frank Covert Jr. and Clarence Covert Sr. Frank Covert, Jr. had one son, Dr. Frank M. Covert III, who chose not to join the family business and instead became a surgeon. He is now retired from the practice of medicine and resides in Austin. I have purchased 4-5 vehicles from the Covert dealerships over the last 30 years, my latest a 2021 Silverado Trail Boss, which before it hit 5,000 miles had a lifter issue causing a bent push rod, now at 42, over the last 30 years, my latest a 2021 Silverado Trail Boss, which before it hit 5,000 miles had a lifter issue causing a bent push rod, now at 42,900 miles having lifter issues again, Covert replaced lifters ,but now they say it has a ticking noise, Covert said GM told them to do engine flush which Covert and GM says I have to pay for at $500-$1000 if 2 flushings are required, GM says Covert could do this at a courtesy if they are willing , seems to me like GM would offer to pay for it !!! I will never purchase any GM products ever again !! More
