Out of all of my recent car shopping experiences, Juan was one of the easiest people to work with. Also, the internet division specialist Mona, was also very friendly and got me set up with Juan. To my surprise with everyone at Courtesy I interacted with, even in passing, was very friendly. If I wouldn't have found my ideal car elsewhere, I would have purchased a Camry from Juan. I highly recommend seeing him if you are looking for a Toyota. More

I am 57yo and have bought a number of cars throughout the years. Although I live in North Central Florida, I have previously driven the more than two hours to Tampa in order to buy a car. I have never encountered a dealership like Courtesy Toyota. I research extensively before making purchases, especially a major purchase such as a vehicle. I shopped on the internet and looked all the way up to Atlanta in order to get the best price. After getting an idea as to what I should pay, we drove to Tampa in order to shop for a Toyota FJ Cruiser. Toyota has discontinued this model and the vehicle is hard to find. Apparently, there were only two FJ Cruisers that met my wants in the entire state of Florida as I write this review. I made appointments to visit three dealerships and only stopped by Courtesy Toyota because they were close to two of our appointments. I am so glad we stopped there. When I walk into a dealership my experience has always been that the sales person presents me with a price, I refuse to pay that price, then the sales person goes to get the manager. The manager comes back and we start the real process of haggling for a good price. They usually start out by telling me how great a deal they can do for me, how many discounts they can give me, and we go back and forth as I tell them how great a deal I REALLY want them to do for me. That was not my experience with Courtesy Toyota. We were met by Mr. Leonard Fuentes when we got to Courtesy Toyota. I told Leonard that we were shopping, that I had appointments, and would he please just give me his best price. After inspecting our trade-in, Leonard came back to his office and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. The price was so good that I decided to call and cancel my other appointments. But here’s the kicker: Leonard didn’t have the car on his lot. So he tells me that there’s an eighty five percent chance he can get the car from a Miami dealership. My experience has always been that the dealership wants to sell you a car so they present the rosiest possible scenario. Leonard didn’t do that, he was honest. I panicked. I wanted a guarantee on a vehicle that I knew was very hard to get and there would be no more being made. On the way home we stopped at another dealership. This other dealership told us too many lies to list here. They started by telling me there was no way that Courtesy Toyota could sell us the FJ Cruiser for the price they had given us. Then they told us that Courtesy wasn’t able to get the FJ from the Miami dealership. We tried to call Courtesy Toyota but there was a phone mix-up and we couldn’t contact Leonard. I panicked. We gave a down payment to this other dealership. When we got home we had a message from Alex at Courtesy Toyota. He told us that they indeed could get the vehicle from the Miami dealership. I canceled my down payment with the other dealership. What kind of dealership not only gives you a great price but is honest to their disadvantage? I am hard to impress. Courtesy Toyota impressed me highly. I made a point of speaking with the sales manager, Mr. Robert Johnson. I told him how impressed I was with the honest integrity of his dealership and how we were treated by both Leonard and Alex. That’s before I had the pleasure of dealing with David in finance, who has a wicked sense of humor. I would not only buy another vehicle from Courtesy Toyota of Tampa, I will highly recommend them to any of my friends and family. Thanks guys! Jason, the finance guy, is very good at his job and took the time to make sure I understood what I was signing. I want to thank them both for helping me and I love my new car. Shady business I was trying to purchase a car but found this dealership very shady. I was given "a price" online only to find out that the price I was given wasn't I was trying to purchase a car but found this dealership very shady. I was given "a price" online only to find out that the price I was given wasn't the actual price. This dealership cons you into thinking you are buying a car for one amount and then I find out its another amount after driving 2 hours to get there. I don't need your $2000 mud flaps or whatever else garbage you think people are stupid enough to buy. There is too many other dealerships in your area that play your stupid game. I don't understand the dishonesty but so be it. I purchased at sun toyota so thank you for wasting my time. I will make sure everyone at my bank knows that you arena dishonest business. More
I gave this dealership a five-star rating for quite a few reasons: This was my first car purchase ever! I'm a 28 year old woman and have never owned a car, so just the idea of car shopping gave me a migra reasons: This was my first car purchase ever! I'm a 28 year old woman and have never owned a car, so just the idea of car shopping gave me a migraine. I was nervous for many reasons, some of them being 1) I'm a woman so I was sure that they'd take me to the cleaners and not shoot straight with me 2) Was my credit good enough for a car? I hadn't ever bought anything this big so I had no idea what the financial side of car buying would be (I imagined a nightmare) and 3) I wanted something simple and didn't want a bunch of extras forced upon me. I am a motorcyclist, so the simpler, the better. Here was my experience: I saw them circling like sharks and I was pretty terrified. I HATE aggressive sales pitches and was sure that I was about to go through some gruesome experience. NOT SO. Dave (Errity) came right up and introduced himself. He obviously knew immediately that I was a first timer and he sat me down, asked me what I wanted and then went on a hunt for a little 5-speed manual Yaris. He did some preliminary business stuff, but a few minutes later he had me in the car for a test drive. (NOTE: I wanted a manual because I was coming from a motorcycle, but was REALLY rusty when it came to driving a manual car, so I was VERY, VERY self-conscious and nervous that this guy wouldn't take me seriously at all.) He got me right out onto 301, and he let me take it for a nice long ride. He was completely cool - he has the best calm demeanor ever and just spent some time talking to my mom (who came with me for moral support) and let me drive without any interruption or comment. I LOVED that car and that drive. We went right back to the dealership and started the process of pulling credit and adjusting my monthly payments to something I was comfortable with. My only issue was that I wanted a red Yaris SO BAD. Dave was so cool about my weird color hang up (hey, I'm paying that much money - I totally want a color I can live with!) that he immediately found it and promised to have it driven down. I didn't want to leave without buying it, but I thought the wise thing to do would be to shop around. I went over to Nissan, tested their Versa Note (ehh) and headed home. I was kicking myself for not staying at Toyota and buying that car RIGHT THEN. I came back the next night and Dave wasn't there so I felt a whole new wave of anxiety. Would they honor the good faith estimates that he'd set out for me? Would they be able to get me the red one that I wanted so terribly? Well, I got Mario and let me tell you - HE WAS JUST AS AWESOME AS DAVE! He was just a cool dude. He got me right back in the car, we went for another drive and then we were right back inside trying to locate me a red one. It was slightly difficult to locate a red Yaris, but in the end they did and I came back the next night for it. The sales guys were great. DAVE WAS SO AMAZING. Kristian worked with me with the loan. As a first time buyer my bank (Grow Financial) could not match Toyota's loan. Toyota REALLY treats their first timers well. I had always, ALWAYS heard never to take a car loan from the dealership, but to work with your personal bank - and after an hour or so at the bank even the bank loan officer agreed that yeah, for a first time car buyer (with the bank) I would have had to put down a few thousand dollars to bring the LTV rate to something they could work with. Toyota was just great. Kristian was awesome - at the end of it I was like "I OWN A CAR?!" and he just laughed and said, "Yup!" I could not recommend this place more. If Dave, Mario and Kristian are anything to go by then I imagine the entire crew must be pretty cool. I grew up with Toyota and I think their brand speaks for itself, BUT if it's dealerships and salesmen you're nervous of - don't be. The price was good, the payments were something I could live with, the customer service was just ASTOUNDING, and even though I was that annoying last customer of the night - they were genuinely pleased that I was pleased. I could keep going about how wonderful these guys were... THANKS DAVE SO MUCH! More
