I am a Snowbird. My Kia telluride needed some recall work and I called courtesy Kia, because it was the closest. I had to jump through hoops to get an appointment, an My Kia telluride needed some recall work and I called courtesy Kia, because it was the closest. I had to jump through hoops to get an appointment, and get some questions answered.The two big hoops were:1) I could not make an appointment without giving them my email address. Service screener said they can do communications with text messages, which I prefer, but they can’t do this without having my email, that’s bogus. I didn’t want to start getting emails for sales and advertisement. Reluctantly, I gave them my email address to get an appointment. Sure enough, within 48 hours the first ad came to me via email,another one four days later.Tried to unsubscribe but when I pressed the unsubscribe button, the screen went blank, tried twice. 2) I am 76 years old and I live alone so I would have to stay with the vehicle for the duration of my appointment because I come in a moderate distance from the dealer. When quizzing the call screener about the length of an appointment information, I was told once I am checked in the process could take any where between one and three or four hours and they try to get to the vehicle as soon as they can. The update was a plug in computer update. This type of service takes 30 to 45 minutes once the car is in the service bay. I know this from experience. I understand that they cannot have a technician standing there waiting for me when I get there, however, what’s the purpose of an appointment if a one hour job can take three or four hours? On the positive side, the screener was courteous and quite knowledgeable. I guess that’s just the way they run their business. After my encounter was complete I called Mark Kia and the process for doing the job was night and day. I explained what I needed, the service advisor got my name, phone number, and gave me an appointment. He said the appointment would take one or two hours tops. I was sent a reminder via text. Just basic simple information, no hoops. I did the project with them and things worked out as expected. Overall courtesy Kia seems to have a very good rating, so maybe I just fell through the cracks. In the end, I will go farther for service to a place that is more customer oriented and organized and not have to jump through extra hoops. Ken More
