Shameful Dealer - CDJR of Superstition Springs! Was looking this past weekend for a 2021 Ram 1500 Limited and found one that fit my specs at CDJR of Superstition Springs. Scott Monteiro reached out to looking this past weekend for a 2021 Ram 1500 Limited and found one that fit my specs at CDJR of Superstition Springs. Scott Monteiro reached out to me on the vehicle. The brand new vehicle had some red flags; 1 - it had 120 miles on it and 2 - the dealership was charging $1,367 in dealer installed add-ons ($699 Connect and Protect, $499 Tint, and $169 for Nitrogen in Tires). I relayed to Scott that I will pay for the tint ($499) as it has value, but the $699 Connect and Protect and $169 Nitrogen in the Tires, I will not pay for as they have no value, are fake fees, and are only designed to put money in the dealers pocket. He got back with me on my concerns and said the 120 miles were from driving the vehicle from one dealer to another, and the other fees that I said I would not pay, he said he would do everything to remove the fake fees. Scott sent me a nice video of the vehicle the next day and I informed him that I was a preferred customer and receive special pricing (1% below invoice under the Employee Advantage Program). I told him the purchase of the vehicle was contingent on the Trade-In Offer from them on my 2012 Ram 1500 Limited. I brought my vehicle in on Sunday and Scott told me that the Sales Manager, "KC" was furious when he found out the deal I was getting as a preferred customer. After they reviewed my vehicle KC provided a low-ball offer of $15,700. I told him we were too far apart and he asked what I was asking. I said $20,000. He said that my vehicle didn't KBB for $20,000, to which I whipped out my preprinted appraisal from KBB that said it as worth $20,000. I told KC that I was willing to go down to $18,000, but would not be paying the fake fees ($699 Connect and Protect and $169 Nitrogen). He said, "I have to make some money on this deal" which is validation that the fees are not only fake, but pure profit for the dealer. He said he would be right back. Scott came back with a revised offer of $17,850 and said that KC would not take off the fake fees. At that point I thanked Scott for his time and got up to walk out. As I passed by the Sales Manager area where KC was, Scott told him that I was leaving. I told KC thank you for your time, to whit he gave me a "what's up" nod. Not even a thanks for coming in; very unprofessional. 2 minutes after I left, Scott called me and said that the General Manager was offering me $500 Bonus Cash as I am a 28 year veteran. I told Scott that i already knew that I qualified for that as that incentive comes from Chrysler, Dodge, Ram. and not the dealership. Quite frankly,I was offended that he would offer a veteran incentive to try to offset his dealership's $868 in fake fees. All in all, I walked away from the deal because the dealer couldn't come up on my trade $150 and/or remove the fake fees. It's a shame that during this day and age with the pandemic and chip shortage that these car dealers are still squeezing the consumer for every penny they can. CDJR of Superstition Springs prides itself on Work Class Customer Service by giving the best deal, work class service, and great financing. CDJR of Superstition Springs missed the mark on this one big-time! Overall sales experience was a big THUMBS DOWN. Recommendation....FIND ANOTHER DEALER! More
