I had trouble with my car warranty Concord Auto being dishonest and my service technician Brad and his boss went the extra mile speaking with them. It didn't do much good, but that isn't Coughlin's fault dishonest and my service technician Brad and his boss went the extra mile speaking with them. Vindictive letter from Coughlin Newark Posted a negative review of sales experience at Coughlin Auto, Newark OH, about what I considered to be a Bait and Switch sales tactic. Then 2 months Posted a negative review of sales experience at Coughlin Auto, Newark OH, about what I considered to be a Bait and Switch sales tactic. Then 2 months later, I get a vindictive letter with ridiculous claims about my credit. In the first place, I did not apply for credit through them, so there was no reason for them to run my credit. In the second place, I have excellent credit with a credit score of 848, and a good job. I am now going to send a copy of their letter and my review to the Better Business Bureau, as well as contact corporate. In my opinion, this is a form of harassment from this dealer. More

Beyond poor experience I met a salesman by the name of Lenny at the Coughlin dealsership in Newark, OH after I called and requested to test drive a used Jeep this past Satur I met a salesman by the name of Lenny at the Coughlin dealsership in Newark, OH after I called and requested to test drive a used Jeep this past Saturday. This particular vehicle didn't suit my needs. Lenny suggested I get on their website as he would still be able to assist me. In doing my OWN research I located a 2018 Rav 4 at the Toyota dealership in Heath, Ohio. I contacted Lenny the following Monday morning regarding this vehicle. We set up a time that evening for my boyfriend to drive in from Columbus and for Lenny to drive from Newark. I drove the car and loved it as suspected. I was transparent about where I wanted my payments to be. Of course the initial numbers given per the sales manager were ridiculous and much higher than what I was comfortable with. I had requested they provide numbers on both a lease and a 72 month finance. After they worked my deal for a second time, my boyfriend and I decided to leave so I could think about it. I texted Lenny first thing this morning to tell him I decided to purchase the vehichle if they were able to come down from the estimated monthly payment by $20. Shortly thereafter, Lenny requested I call him. He went on to inform me that there was an issue. The numbers were accidentally worked on a different Rav 4!! Ummm... how does this happen? I mean, my credit was ran and they were ready for me to take the car last night. Tyler Workman the general sales manager requested I call him in an attempt to make this right. Yet, my payments were almost $80 higher. Lenny texted through the day and assured me his manager at the Newark location would make this right as e felt horrible about what had happended. He asked me to give them 30 minutes of my time after my work day. He informed me they had a 2019 GMC terrain- $410 a month and he would get me the color I wanted. Well, I get there to find the $410 was a lease. What part of "I want to purchase my vehicle" is so confusing???? He suggested I still drive it and he would look into my payment on a buy. I returned to the dealership and was greeted with a payment in the $500's and was also told they couldn't find the color I wanted. At this point the sales manager came to the table and actually stated he was hopeful I woul have fallen in love with the grey. Soooo, now more of my time is wasted and I am not being heard! The sales manager asked what I would be comfortable with to get me in a car today and expressed how he wanted to make this right. I repeated myself again...He asked to show me the Equinox Premiere. Before driving it, he told me he could get my payments where I wanted for 72 months. I test drove the vehicle and made the decision to proceed. When I returned to the dealership I informed Lenny of my decision. He stated "you realize that is a lease, right?" I was speechless. He repeatedly stated he was here for me and knew that I wanted to purchase the car. He said he overheard the sales manager state he had me "sold on the Equinox". HA! Why at some point did Lenny not speak up and say there is a misunderstanding? Although, how much more clear can someone be when they say "I DON'T WANT TO LEASE." Through all of this Megan and David from customer service has contacted me multiple times. Both extremely nice, but, I am sorry...I honestly don't see the point as nothing was taken care of. We wasted time and energy. This is such a poor reflection of both dealerships. I understand people are human and mistakes are made. But, where was the attention to detail at the Heath location? And the Newark location...how dare them act as if they want to make this situation better. They are shady and a prime example of why buying a car can be such a nightmare! More
