I purchased a used truck from Corwin several months ago, the sales team that took care of me and were very straight forward. had a few mechanical issues and the warranty they recommended I buy ended up taki the sales team that took care of me and were very straight forward. had a few mechanical issues and the warranty they recommended I buy ended up taking care of most the cost and was well worth it, the service department works fast and they stay in touch on ever step they take. Our overall experience was great. The salesman Steve helped us get into a vehicle that met our needs and budget. He did not try to put us into something we could not afford. We ended up with a used vehicle in great shape and low miles that was half the price of a brand-new comparable diesel pickup. My only issue at all was that the finance department was a bit interesting because we were told we could pay off our loan at any point but when we mentioned that we would probably pay off the loan in a week or two the finance guy gave us a speech about how the right thing to do would be to wait at least 3 months to pay off the vehicle because apparently Corwin gets charged a fee for early payoff. I am a bit confused why our salesman Steve specifically told us we could pay the loan off any time and then the finance guy made both my wife and I feel quite awkward about the situation. We decided that we probably will wait the 3 months and even bought GAAP insurance to cover us for these three months. We will now have to pay interest on the loan so at the end of the day it is costing us the customer interest so that Corwin can avoid getting charged a fee. The sales rep should not advertise that a loan can be paid off at any time if the finance guy is going to turn around and make us feel like bad people for paying it off right away. Also, we had purchased a warranty through American Dream prior to our appointment because our sales rep quoted us $5,200 for the warranty through Corwin, but then the finance guy offered us a warranty for much less once he heard what we purchased one at American Dream for around $3.5K. The finance guy assured us that it would not be a hassle to get a refund from American Dream. Fortunately, it does appear that we will be getting a refund, but it has been a huge hassle and I have been on the phone a significant amount of time getting the run around until finally getting confirmation of cancellation. However, it is going to take 5 to 7 days before we get our money back into our account. Had Corwin offered us the $3.5K warranty to begin with we would have never purchased the policy from American Dream and could have avoided this fiasco. Overall, we love the purchase that we made and would love to work with Steve in the future but probably would not do any type of financing through Corwin. More
