Unethical Conduct Bordering on Criminal I write this now, after finally calming down enough to be rational about our experience with this dealership. Ed Corley is a sleaze, and his conduct I write this now, after finally calming down enough to be rational about our experience with this dealership. Ed Corley is a sleaze, and his conduct - along with that of his sales manager - were sufficiently egregious that I contacted the NM Attorney General's office to report it. The Staff at the AG's office was very sympathetic, and told me they have a long list of ethical complaints about this dealership, but insufficient evidence of CRIMINAL wrongdoing to prosecute Ed Corley. The attorney I spoke with even confided that she had driven out of town to purchase a new Volvo solely to avoid Corley's. Our experience is eerily similar to that of the folks above who ordered and paid for an AWD vehicle, only to find out that the vehicle they received was front wheel drive and being told it was their job to watch Corley's for a substitution and that Corley's wouldn't help them because they'd initially left with the car. Buyer BEWARE. We went to Corley's to purchase a new SUV. After protracted decision-making (my job requires an enormous amount of driving with clients, and I have back problems that I was concerned about) we selected a new Lincoln SUV, and traded my older Lexus. I was still shaky about the decision, but Ed Corley informed me that they wanted me to be happy, and would accommodate us if we had any problems. 20 minutes after leaving the dealership, I torqued my back while driving. We returned to the dealer immediately, having driven fewer than 10 miles (FYI, according the the AG, the vehicle at that time was WELL below the limit - 200 miles, I believe? - to still be sold as a new car.) Corley's wouldn't even speak to us - just said we'd signed, and it was our car. We hadn't even cleared our personal belongings out of our trade car yet, and the sales manager sent an employee with us to "guard" it while we retrieved those, presumably to keep us from getting in and driving away, leaving the new Lincoln behind. We waited at the dealership for hours trying to sort this out, but our good "buddy" Ed Corley was suddenly no buddy anymore. I quote: "I don't know you. Why would I do anything for YOU?" To make a long story short, we had to sell the Lincoln ourselves at loss to our family of nearly $19,000. (The vehicle was fine, by the way - it was simply too soft and unsupportive a seat for the back I have.). We have just begun to stagger back from the financial hit. I hope this saves someone else from a similar awful mistake. More
