Zack, I did and do apologize that this is happening. You admitted and understood you purchased the car "As Is" with no warranty. You were comfortable with that. The brakes squeeked, and you took it in to where they sold you brakes it may not have needed. You never gave us the opportunity to look at the brakes for the noise. The brakes were good when the car was sold. Now 8 months later, it needs work. We diagnosed what was needed for no charge, and offered you a $500 discount off the work it needed. It was presented respectufully. I am sorry this didn't work out as you hoped.
