Brought my 2020 Forester Touring in for only its 4th oil change. Was advised that there was a Service Bulletin regarding the rounding of the Drain Plug that required that my oil pan needed to be replaced an change. Was advised that there was a Service Bulletin regarding the rounding of the Drain Plug that required that my oil pan needed to be replaced and that they would need to keep the car and provide me a loaner and there would be no cost to me for the loaner and the oil pan replacement. I did not approve this as it made no sense to me that the rounding of the drain plug would require a new oil pan. I later on checked the Service Bulletin details, and yes it asked the dealer ship to install a redesigned lager Drain head plug, but even the new plug was not a warranty replacement as the rounding of the existing plug could have been due to over torque. So they simply changed the oil and reinstalled the old drain plug, did not even install the new redesigned drain plug that was recommended to be done by Subaru's Service Bulletin, yet they wanted to replace the entire oil pan under warranty which obviously was not needed to be done. The previous 3 oil changed where all done by Conley, so if the drain plug was rounded it was done by them and the new redesigned plug should have been installed. More
