Sorry to hear you were not happy with our service but we do not have a name with this service to follow up on. After a vehicle is serviced we pull it around back and someone else takes it and runs it through the car wash. Our best guess is you saw someone get into the vehicle and wash it after the service had already been completed. We would really like to know more and would appreciate if you would call our Service Manager Chuck Jones at 785-825-8271. Thanks! Gerard Smith - General Manager Conklin Toyota Salina

Unfortunately we are not a Chevy Volt dealer. This means we are not current on training or tools to perform complex warranty pay procedures. All Chevy dealerships make the choice if they want to sales and service the Volt because the Hybrid is very different than any other Chevy. Sorry for the confusion. It was a WINDSHIELD! What Volt specific training certificate separates a Volt BODY technician from a conventional vehicle body technician? One other valid question would be as a dealership that refuses to service, or even prepare to service, electrical vehicles (whether the mechanical components are even involved or not), what is going to happen to business volume both service and sales, now that the Bolt has a waiting list and the Malibu hybrid uses the Volt drivetrain? You subcontract your windshields anyway, right? Your excuse, as well as your dealership's performance are both equally as abysmal.

Our goal is to always make the buying experience a enjoyable experience and we apologize that we fell short here. We were working with the dealer in Colorado to get your key done but had some issues with them figuring out how to get payment. In the end we are glad we were able to get the key to you but wish it could have been a simpler process. Gerard Smith - General Manager Conklin Cars Salina

Sorry to hear about your experience and we have investigated here. We try to do our very best at determining the cause of vehicle failure. Sometime that failure cannot be duplicated and we have to make the customer aware of options for "possible" cause. And with those options we like to give price quotes for possible solutions.

Conklin Cars Salina takes great pride in our service department and has looked into this situation. What we have found is this customer did not have an appointment on 10/29/11 but we told him that we could get him worked in if he left the vehicle with us. The vehicle was diagnosed by 12:30 but by this time the extended warranty company was closed and we informed the customer of this. We ordered the parts and they came in on the 1st, we did some pre work at no cost to him so he would not have as long of a wait the following Saturday when he came in to have the parts replaced. Once we had all the prices finalized we called the Ext warranty for authorization and they covered most of the labor and the lock assembly, but would not cover a handle or some labor time spent grinding away the spray in bed liner. The customer decided to have us go ahead and complete the repair and came in Saturday morning to have the repairs completed. At our expense we cut a new tail gate lock key and did not charge the customer. Customer took the vehicle and paid for the part and labor that the extended warranty did not cover. Unfortunately this was an Extended Warranty we have never seen before and was not purchased from us. Conklin Cars Salina cannot control what is covered by an extended warranty and feel we made every possible effort to satisfy this customer.
