This an update on a review from a couple of weeks ago about a purchase of a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage from Conklin Cars in Salina, KS..... The car is doing fine and I will not change my review of the use about a purchase of a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage from Conklin Cars in Salina, KS..... The car is doing fine and I will not change my review of the used car manager or salesman from the transaction....but I will make a review on what transpired from that original review.... Gerard Smith, General Manager of Conklin Cars in Salina contacted me and as of today, we now finally have a second key to the vehicle thanks to Mr. Smith getting on top of it......again my feeling is, we should not have had to wait two weeks for it if the sales people had kept track of the keys as they should have....I did mention to Mr. Smith that the keys to our two trade-in vehicles were left sitting on a table for 30-45 minutes the evening we picked up the car instead of immediately tagging them together like they should.... The second part of the issue was the major tear that developed on the side of the back of the drivers seat....Mr. Smith told me to make arrangements to get it fixed and we did, we were told it had been repaired previously and the new fabric is thicker and should hold up much longer.....Mr. Smith quickly reimbursed us for the cost of the repairs..... This review we want to give big KUDOS to GERARD SMITH for giving us the customer service and customer care that a quality salesperson should..... We very much appreciate him for the effort and if you go to Conklin Cars in Salina, ask for Mr. Gerard Smith - guaranteed to give you the customer service you would expect..... While I would consider giving Mr. Smith a 5-star review for picking up the situation and fixing it....I only gave a 4-star because he should not have had to do the work of which two other employees should have done...... While my wife found a very cute, dependable vehicle (which we are satisfied with) the sales help and management we found untrustworthy despite being told several times by the sales rep that thought jus (which we are satisfied with) the sales help and management we found untrustworthy despite being told several times by the sales rep that thought just the mechanics were warrantied, they would work with us with anything else that may develope in the first few weeks that may be unsuspected - this is where the problem lies..... ONE, nobody seemed to know where the extra key was to the vehicle, when we test drove the one we bought - we found keys to another vehicle in it and the sales rep laughed saying 'oh that's where they were she just left with her car so I will call her in a couple of days', strange......a week later and still no extra key, surely by now we could've had one made or found the old one...... TWO, within 48 hours of purchasing the vehicle a large split in the back of the drivers seat appeared....the split appeared from a previous split that seemed to be poorly repaired....when we asked about it I was told by the sales rep and used car manager that they would get their people on it as soon as possible, but within a couple of days I was told I caused the issue or maybe someone broke into the vehicle and did it....I don't think so, have had several other experts look at the tear and all agreed it was a poor repair job, some of the foam inside the cover is missing..... Instead of being proper, positive, customer oriented folks I am left to deal with it......if they had offered politely to fix it and requested I pay half the amount of repairs, we would be fine...but the final responses from the sales rep and used car manager were extremely rude and pointing blame on us the buyer..... Oh, and we are still waiting for the key guy to call me even a full 24 hours after being told he would and a full week after purchasing the vehicle....... The vehicle itself is fine other than the tear, the service toward customers - I will recommend Conklin in Salina only with strong reservations on the customer service. More
