I also noticed two small dents and a small scratch on the back of the van. This must have been caused by your car wash. They weren't there when I took the van in. My question is will you repair the damage caused by your car wash. I also think you should ask if I want the car washed. More

Every time itvwent in for regular service they had a long list of expensive repairs, fixes and adjustments to do. Little to no explanation could be given on many of the services they wanted to perform. One example was the multiple computer adjustments they were doing, at a few hundred dollars each with the only explanation being it will run better. This kind of thing was ongoing and getting worse and very very expensive. The final straw was them telling us we needed a $ 580 rear brake job. They told us the rear brake pads were at less than 10%. and not to take any long trips with it . No other options were given . I was suspicious of a 580$ brake job with no options other than complete replacement and no reason why. So I took our Pilot to another dealer without saying a word about anything, other than it needed rear brakes and I'd like to see the worn pads and rotors . Their service manager found me about 30 minutes later and said the pads were still at 50% and did NOT need to be replaced at all. You can draw your own conclusions here. We will never be buying another vehicle of any kind from Conklin cars in Hutchinson KS . I just can not trust them. It's a shame too because our salesman Alvin is fantastic! More

Can't believe it. Brought in a car for a rattle, they said it was a loose skid plate and they put new bolts in it and was fixed. Nope, the rattle was still there. Br Brought in a car for a rattle, they said it was a loose skid plate and they put new bolts in it and was fixed. Nope, the rattle was still there. Brought it back in good faith and after an hour I was told I had a hole in my cv boot, that it was dry and as a result there was metal banging together making the noise. They would not know of any damage until they took things apart. I scheduled to have it done. Got a call after the car was brought back in and was told the axle was damaged and needed to be replaced. I asked what was the specific damage and was told there was broken teeth. Repairs were made, I paid the bill and asked for my old parts. I was suspicious and took the axle to three mechanics who could not find anything wrong or damaged. Also, the cv joint was lubricated with clean grease. The hole that was in the boot was cut. Due to to the clean grease inside the boot it was a recent cut. Otherwise the grease would be dirty. I took the axle back to Conklin and the head mechanic looked it over and said that one of three joints inside the boot had a gap between the rollers bearings and this is a red flag. That a bearing was missing. He said if all three joints in the boot had the same gap that would be one thing, but what he saw was a red flag. I suggested he take things apart to be able to look at the rest of the joint. He refused and was satisfied with just examining the joint through the hole that had been cut. I was not satisfied and upon leaving he said they'd be in touch with a settlement. The next day got a call from the service rep who said he was not happy with how things turned out and had lost sleep over it so he went to his boss. They offered to find and fix the rattle for free since I'd already spent over 1,200 dollars. I said I'd like the axle situation taken care of first. He said OK I'll take this is to my superiors. Well I've not heard a thing and have not had any of my calls returned. I again took the axle to different mechanics and told them what Conklin said was wrong. Again they said other than the hole in the cv boot, nothing is wrong. Also, we put the car on a lift and discovered the skid plate that was suppose to be fixed was not. In fact it was still hanging down with bolts missing. I would rate Conklin with negative stars, I had to mark one star in order to submit this review. More
Bad service I brought my Honda Odyssey to Conklin after we began having trouble with it on the road. They diagnosed it and said it needed software update and roc I brought my Honda Odyssey to Conklin after we began having trouble with it on the road. They diagnosed it and said it needed software update and rocker arm replacement. We updated the software first to see if that would correct the problem. No luck so we brought back in for the rocker arm replacement. Replaced the rocker arm - it didn't fix the problem. Then they said it needed a new spool valve assembly. Replaced the spool valve assembly - it didn't fix the problem. Then they said some bolts may need resurfaced. IF that doesn't work it would need a new engine. So far they have billed me $1200 and haven't even scratched the surface of the problem. They tell me if I spend another $900 it MIGHT fix it, otherwise I will need to replace the engine. Either you know what the problem is and can fix it or you don't and can't. They obviously don't. I can't keep paying $500 to $1000 every time I bring it back for them to do trial and error. Wish they would have told me from the beginning they didn't know how to fix it - would have saved me $1200 and a lot of hassle. To add salt to the wound they tell me they can only give me minimal value for a trade in since they don't know the problem. More
Service department issue(s) In March 2015, I stopped by the service department to schedule an appointment to have a trailer wiring harness installed. The Honda rep said that they In March 2015, I stopped by the service department to schedule an appointment to have a trailer wiring harness installed. The Honda rep said that they were not sure what parts were needed, and they would call me when they figured out the parts to order and to set an appointment. Two months later, I went back to the dealer to figure out why I did not receive the call. They informed me that they would look the parts up and call me back. They looked up the parts on the spot and ordered it, at the cost of $265 plus tax installed. That was for the entire harness, and I had a majority of it installed as it came with the tow package. I ensured the Honda rep understood this. I wait a few days and receive a call to set the appointment up. After a small fraction of the harness was actually installed, the Honda rep charged me $440 for the harness and installation. I asked the rep what was actually installed and what work was done to it, and she had no clue. She informed me to go find the mechanic that installed it. At this point this Honda Rep was very rude to me. I reminded her that the print off she handed me was $265 plus tax installed. She then informed me that "I can't deal with you", and went and got her manager. I sat with the manager for 30 minutes to figure out what had been done. Three hours had elapsed for a 50 min job. I paid the $265 plus tax and left, only to realize that I left there without the rest of the harness that was not installed that I paid for. This was the worst experience with a dealership that I have ever had. Under no circumstances will I go back to this dealership, and I cannot understand why a dealer in such a small town would treat customers this way. More
I don't know what to think I just got my 2003 Honda Pilot out of service after two days. Took it in to handle some recall notices, and got a long list of need-to-do now repairs I just got my 2003 Honda Pilot out of service after two days. Took it in to handle some recall notices, and got a long list of need-to-do now repairs, which was the reason for the extra day, waiting for the parts. The reason I took the car in primarily outside of the recalls was because my auto door locks were not working, and had been using the key in option for years. The door locks one by one started NOT allowing me to key in, and once the trunk lock started acting up I knew it was the last one, and it was time. I explained my dilemma very specifically and when it was explained that the door actuator needed to be replaced, I asked again, "but will it fix the fact that the keys won't unlock the door manually?", and received a firm "YES". WELL, NO IT DIDN'T, but I did get to spend an additional $1000 on some but not all of the recommended service issues their inspection rendered. The door locks do work, but what if I lose the alarm fob, or the battery goes dead? I should have known better I guess. With 160k+ miles on my car, this is the same service department that around 100k miles after fixing my car's rear axle issues (that didn't include a slipping transmission) gave it back to me with a slipping transmission issue??? When pressed for an answer and subsequent re inspection or why or what was wrong NOW, they tried telling me I needed a brand new $4k transmission? I asked them to put it back together, since I couldn't believe it, or even afford to do that at that very instant...OH YEAH, about 44k + miles ago, never had that slipping out of gear problem again??? I try to forgive and forget, but really it's hard to trust the constant desire for the up-sale and not fixing the actual problem. Maybe one day, I'll try again? Not anytime really soon. Don't blame the service adviser, the system is broken from top to bottom, I'm sure. David Whipple, Hutchinson, Kansas. More
I am just so pleased with Jose in Sales and Marcie in the Service Dept. and all those who checked over and made sure my CRV was in perfect working order. The problem was determined to be a defective battery Service Dept. and all those who checked over and made sure my CRV was in perfect working order. The problem was determined to be a defective battery which sounds simple but it caused lots of agony for me until it was found--which wasn't long for them. This was the first car I had purchased from Conklin Cars but I am sure any more cars I purchase will again be from Jose and Conklin Cars. A million thanks once again to Marcie and Jose for fast, accurate, kind and professional service in every way. More
