Very good service. Friendly and efficient employees. I HOPE we never have to purchase another new car but if we do, I would use Conklin Cars Friendly and efficient employees. I HOPE we never have to purchase another new car but if we do, I would use Conklin Cars More
I took my truck to Conklin because the transmission was out. The guys in the service shop we’re honest thorough and kept me in the loop. They got me a new transmission as fast as I could and had it install out. The guys in the service shop we’re honest thorough and kept me in the loop. They got me a new transmission as fast as I could and had it installed in my truck within days. I would suggest Conklin cars in Newton to anybody for service. And the service guys are definitely a five star rating. James Stewart More
Worked with parts dept contact trying to get updates. Was reluctant to provide any info other than when vehicle was done we would be contacted. Even said we could come get vehicle and take it elsewhere. Was reluctant to provide any info other than when vehicle was done we would be contacted. Even said we could come get vehicle and take it elsewhere. Rude in conversation. Asked why they wouldn’t pull bumper to make sure all parts were in order. Ended up losing 2 weeks because radiator and fan were damaged. Only found that out by our calling back. Laura Titus on service side was very helpful. More

Be VERY careful about buying a used car from them. Take it off the lot and have another mechanic check it. They'll tell you it is a solid vehicle and that it is in good running shape, but that is not Take it off the lot and have another mechanic check it. They'll tell you it is a solid vehicle and that it is in good running shape, but that is not always the case. Maybe I am a one off, maybe there are more like me that just don't happen to be able to talk about their situation. I did an even trade with my low mileage Focus for a VERY High Mileage Edge and they told me there were no issues with the Edge at all. I get a call at noon the day we're going to pick up the Edge and told that they needed to replace a blower fan in the car and that it wouldn't be ready until the next day. NO.. I agreed to this car on Saturday, I wasn't going to pick it up until Wednesday and you had already told me that there was nothing wrong with the car, but apparently there was. I told him I had already made arrangements to pick the car up and that I would not be able to alter those arrangements. I would be there to pick it up that afternoon. They got THAT repair done just as my wife and I were pulling in to the lot. Amazing how that worked. Pick up the car, pay the processing fee, swap tags and a car seat for my daughter and we leave, about 3 hours later, the car is in our driveway and the alarm is going off on it. I go out to investigate, nothing wrong. I check the doors, deactivate the alarm, go back inside. 30 minutes later, AGAIN the alarm goes off. So, I go back out and nothing. So, I looked it up on the internet about it, and low and behold there is a KNOWN issue with door sensors, on the drivers side door that cause this. Not a safety issue, so no recall, but, it's still a known issue. SO, we're 5 hours into this now, and I decide to do a little more research, find out some customers report that because of this, their battery goes low or dies because of the sensor keeping things active in the car. So, I go start the car to insure that the battery is okay, and the ENGINE light is on, and it wasn't when we got it. So, I told my wife to call Conklin and tell them what was going on, and this will NOT come out of our pocket to fix, we haven't even had the car 12 hours yet, and all this on a car that was 'MECHANICALLY SOUND'. Well, they told her the next morning to bring it in and they'd look into it. Come to find out that there were, and I quote, "A WHOLE LOT OF ISSUES", yes the sensor is bad in the door, but it's a wear and tear item (Technically it is, but in this case, no it's not). Then the catalytic converter is bad and some sensors too that need to be replaced (the Engine Light issue). I'm like, no, go get our car back I'm done with this. They sold this vehicle as 'IN GOOD WORKING ORDER' "MECHANICALLY SOUND", and neither were true. Now, do I blame the salesman Cal? NO, he did his job, he sold a car based on the information he was given, that it was ready to sell and it was a good car, it was solid and can be sold. Do I blame Management? Absolutely, this type of slick flip the car fast tactic is why car dealerships like this end up getting a bad name. They have the car detailed and call it mechanically sound. When I went to pick up the Edge Wednesday, another couple was swapping out a Ford Expedition for a Chevy Trailblazer, the Explorer was on their webpage before the couple was even off the lot. My car was on their website before we ever turned it in to them and completed our original deal. They don't check the vehicles, they don't insure they are sound, they just detail them, put some paperwork in the window and shoot the dice that the car lasts the initial 60 days for their warranty. BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT BUYING FROM CONKLIN CARS, if they do this in Newton, you can be assured they do this at all their lots. Ownership must be aware, because it's a pattern. They should be ashamed.
