Dear Chuck, It's surely a crappy situation for us both, for sure. And as for when the recall came out, you might be confused. The initial safety recall came out on 7/28 and then the Stop Sale came out 8/4. You might have these two things confused. Read up on Z50 and you'll see. Please note that the document I signed did NOT have Z50 listed, nor was the document from Safecar.gov (now the NHTSA). Pennsylvania State Law 2018 Act 59 demonstrates that used car dealers are required to disclose all open recalls through Safecar/NHTSA. You failed to do so, and it was your legal, fiduciary responsibility to do so. The real villain is the manufacturer, Chuck. That much is true. You and your guys are cool dudes. That's for sure. So my hope was that we, together, could hold the manufacturer (Jeep) accountable by BOTH of us getting refunds for a non-salable vehicle. That's a win-win. That's doing the right thing, my grandfather used to say. Is it a bunch of paperwork? Yes. It is a pain in the butt to go through? Sure. BUT the most important thing is getting this dangerous, "stop sale" car off the road. That's something we can do together. Again, a win-win is very possible. You probably wouldn't lose a penny. Unfortunately, and sadly for my young family and all fellow drivers, you are not doing the right thing. I understand you didn't create the manufacturer error. I understand that this is "tough luck." I get that. But, hey, this is an opportunity for both of us to team up and hold Jeep accountable. But you refused. So that, Chuck, speaks volumes.
