While I had been avoiding the usually annoying task of buying a car and of Jeff Barkan on DealerRater, I chose to shop for my new car at Competition. While I had been avoiding the usually annoying task of buying a car, this very professional dealership and Jeff made this a very positive experience. Jeff was most helpful, knowledgeable and patient, exceeding the expectations that had been set by the positive reviews. I was especially impressed that i was able to walk into the dealership on Wednesday and drive the exact car I wanted home on Thursday afternoon. And before I left the dealership, Jeff took over an hour patiently going over all the features of my new car. He even set up my Bluetooth! I am looking forward to,having my car serviced here! More
We were in the market to purchase a new car, based upon research and a few recommendations the Subaru Outback seemed like the perfect fit for our needs. We wanted to shop around for the lowest price and I have to say that from the beginning Jeff Barkan from Competitiion Subaru quoted us a very competitive price. We visited another Subaru dealer and the quote was thousands of dollars higher. Needless to say we went back to Jeff Barkan at Competition Subaru and purcased the 2014 Outback. Jeff was a pleasure to work with, extremely pleasant and knowledgable about the specifications and benefits. I have had the Outback for a couple of days now and am thoroughly enjoying driving it. I formerly had an Infiniti from Competition, and when I decided I wanted to change to a Subaru I went right back to Competition. My eight plus years with Competition Infiniti was the best relationship I e decided I wanted to change to a Subaru I went right back to Competition. My eight plus years with Competition Infiniti was the best relationship I ever had with a car dealership so I never thought of going anywhere else. From the second I walked in the door I was treated with utmost respect. I'm a pretty demanding customer, only light leather, no moon roof, limited accessories. Ever effort was made by my salesperson Jeff and the Manager Lisa. It didn't take long before I had the exact car I wanted. I couldn't be happier with the experience anywhere else. My experience has been great since I walked into the dealership looking to buy a car. Jeff gave me a deal I could accept. I wish to commend Jeff Barkan for once again exceeding my expectations. Jeff is more than just the consummate salesperson. Sure, he takes all of the hassle out of the buying process. No longer do I have to worry whether I'm getting exactly what I want or that I'm receiving the best pricing. Those are all givens. But Jeff goes beyond all of that. He always goes the extra mile to ensure that his customers are deeply satisfied. He's true to his word and genuine, and he always delivers. Today, I picked up my new 2014 Legacy Limited, the fourth Subaru that I've purchased from Jeff over the past three years. Jeff managed to quickly track down the particular vehicle that I wanted despite very limited availability. I was debating whether to go with a different color or perhaps even to change the model due to my tight time requirement. Jeff wouldn't have it; he wouldn't let me settle. Driving home this afternoon in my shiny Venetian Red Pearl Legacy with Taupe leather interior, I'm very glad that I didn't. I wouldn't choose to drive another vehicle, and I wouldn't purchase another Subaru from anyone other than Jeff. This buying experience was made very easy by Jeff and James Boyton (the business manager), and I know from past experience that Mike Coleman will take excellent care of my vehicle when it needs service. Right from the beginning when I walked into competition he treated me with courtesy and went out his way to satisfy me as a customer. You should know that I’m an analytical person that researches every purchase prior to my decision to buy. Jeff was patient with me as I worked through my decision and provided me with the type of attention that would have me recommend him to others. I’m now a proud owner of my first Subaru (Crosstrek XV). His integrity, honesty and his customer service skills had a big part to play in where I would purchase my new car. You won’t be dissatisfied working with Jeff and he’ll provide you with excellent service and an honest fair price! More
I dealt with both Jeff and Dave over the course of a 2 week period in trying to locate a 2014 Forester with the touring trim. It was a refreshing change dealing with these gentlemen as opposed to past exp week period in trying to locate a 2014 Forester with the touring trim. It was a refreshing change dealing with these gentlemen as opposed to past experiences with arrogant/agressive sales personnel and dealerships that try to add unwanted services and fees at signing. The availability of the vehicle proved to be a problem as the Forester was both a Consumer Reports top pick and also received the IIHS top rating in all it's crash tests: the current "in" vehicle that everyone wants. The only one Jeff could find had a $2400 option that I didn't want. After 2 weeks of nothing being available that met my specifications, I returned to this dealer hoping something had come in. Because of time limitations I needed a car and had to make a decision.Jeff was out sick so I was introduced to Dave to try and get something done. They had just got in a turbo touring Forester which I took for a test drive. Dave made a great offer - $200 below dealer invoice that included a Costco membership rebate. The philosophy of this dealer from the get-go as initially explained to me by Jeff is: move vehicles through agressive pricing with no gimmicks or add-ons and Dave certainly lived up to that. There was never any pressure to buy extended warranties or finance with the dealer nor bogus dealer prep charges. In the end I couldn't make the deal. As I explained to both: this is the last vehicle I (hopefully) will ever buy and therefore wanted the vehicle that best met my specifications. I couldn't justify spending 32k plus for an suv that lacked the interior amenities I wanted - was not as big in the interior that I thought - and lastly was a color I really disliked (Black in and out). Both these gentlemen were professional and knowledgeable in their demeanor.I felt very comfortable in working with them to get the car I wanted and I felt they wished the same. I truly feel they dealt with me with honesty and integrity. If you are looking for a no hassle buying experience for and excellent vehicle (read the reviews-do the rearch in both price & quality) I honestly believe you won't be disappointed in dealing with Jeff or Dave.
