Competition Subaru is my new second famiy. XOXOXO My sales women (Lisa Cain) was great! She was very patient, not pushy and made me feel like family. I think I paid a very good price for my Subaru My sales women (Lisa Cain) was great! She was very patient, not pushy and made me feel like family. I think I paid a very good price for my Subaru outback and on top of that they gave me a $65 visa voucher for test driving an outback then they gave me a heavy duty canvas knapsack full off goody's (a $300 value) after the sale was complete. I will go back to competition Subaru when I am ready to buy again................. Dina Gasparini, the finance lady, was also very cool. She did a great job and made it a very pleasant expierance.... PS and they made breakfast and lunch available to me More
One of the most pleasant, stress free auto buying experience Our salesman was Norris Capobianco, and from beginning to end he was straightforward, and could not be more thorough and helpful. We wanted a specific Our salesman was Norris Capobianco, and from beginning to end he was straightforward, and could not be more thorough and helpful. We wanted a specific model with certain additional features and he was able to find just the car we were looking for (Forester Limited with RAB) that was in transit from Japan. When we came in to pick up the car we could not believe the amount of time he spent in going over all of the cars features, and helping us set our phone connection and other custom adjustments. He certainly made purchasing a new car a much more pleasant experience. Joanne and Michael D’Agostino More

The worst customer experience I've had. I purchased a 2016 Subaru Impreza from Competition Subaru in December of 2018. Briefly, I found a car I liked online, called to ask a few questions and set up a viewing. I live around 3.5 hours away so I wanted to ask questions over the phone regarding the car but all I got was pushy “it’s a great car, no problems, come see it, won’t last long” answers. Once I get there, the sales person (Jay) informs me that the car was taken to the local internal auction that morning despite having arranged the meeting to see it himself. He says if we’re quick we can go down and see if it’s still available. If you’re wondering “wow! How lucky of you to catch your car before it sold!” you’re the same type of sociopath thinking these sales tactics work on people in 2019. Of course, the car was still there, they just moved it and used it as an excuse to answer as few questions as possible and increase the pressure for me to make a decision. Once we finally agreed on a price, I informed them that I had financing lined up already. It was essentially a cash deal for them which should have greatly simplified things (Thank god, these people don’t seem competent to be dealing in financing). However, they say I need my bank to physically mail a check to them and that I need to drive all the way back to pick up the car. Wiring money is way too complicated for 2019. So, I leave a $1500 deposit (high pressure sales remember?) and leave without a car. A week goes by of me having to call and ask them again and again to send information to my bank (a combination of them still using fax machines and their sales people working what seems like 2 days a week) but I finally get the check and head down to pick up my new car. I make an appointment, arrive on time, and find my substitute sales person (of course my original wasn’t working) and am told I need to wait. Alright, sure everyone gets busy. Two and a half hours later. I repeat, 150 minutes later. I am finally able to see someone, sign a few papers and…wait for them the find the keys. The car wasn’t made ready or really cleaned before I picked it up, no preparation in the time I was waiting. I was literally an after-thought. To their credit: the sales-person I worked with (Gary?) felt bad and gave me a set of winter mats for my time. I appreciated that a lot. Man, I wish the story ended there. I get my temp. registration and wait for them to title my new car in my home state. This requires a VIN inspection, which I complete within two days of having the car home. I email them a PDF of this; am told they need the physical paper. So I mail it to them ASAP. It has been 5 days since driving the car home and the VIN-inspection is in the mail (this is important later…), my temp registration has more than a month left. Shouldn’t be a problem. Two weeks go by, no update from them (never expect them to take initiative, I’ve had ex-girlfriends who call more), so I call and check on the status. They assure me everything is fine and I just need to wait. I wait another week and at this point, my temp registration only has one more week on it! I call, same thing. Patronizing and placating responses. TWO days before the car I use to get to work is no longer legal, I call and am told they’ll get right on it, passively blamed for not sending in the VIN-inspection sooner (first mention of this is two days before the deadline…), and told they will call me back. No response. I call, ask for the manager, ask for people in the finance dept. and as usual, no one is in, they’ll call me back. Placating, and neglectful is the only way to describe their phone presence. The kicker is that I made it very clear I don’t even need them to register the car. I have an existing registration I am transferring over so all I needed was for them to title it. Despite this, upon reviewing the sales agreement I believe they charged me for registration. Whether they give me a refund or how they explain this is yet to be seen. TL;DR: At this point I’m worried I won’t be able to get to work on Monday due to Competition Subaru’s incompetence. I, like many of you, am a busy person and would rather not spend an hour typing this but I’m channeling my plight into writing this review in hopes that someone will be saved the frustration and real-world consequences of using this woefully inept dealership. The amount of money I saved on the car is nowhere close to the time lost in trying to get these people to do their job. In short, Competition Subaru has been the most frustrating consumer experience I’ve ever had. More

Having recently moved to Suffolk, I wanted a dealership for car maintenance closer to my new home. Decided on Competition Subaru based on location and generally favorable reviews. I was met promptly by Patty Braun who greeted me with a welcoming smile. We discussed the needs of the car. Patty offered a loaner car rather than having to wait; I decided to wait in a what was a clean, pleasant waiting area, equipped with a coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine and a small selection of snacks. Despite the servicing I wanted, I did not need to wait for a long time (only about 2 hours). Although the charges were high, they were in line with what was estimated and were fully explained. I will definitely return for my next scheduled servicing. More

Totally accomodating I cannot believe how helpful Joseph was in helping secure my new lease. Everything I asked for or brought up was handled perfectly. The dealership eve I cannot believe how helpful Joseph was in helping secure my new lease. Everything I asked for or brought up was handled perfectly. The dealership even went so far as to buy back my old lease, freeing me from the inspection process. They kept me apprised and up to date on delivery and since have been nothing but helpful answering and demonstrating all the updated electronics on the new Forrester. I was a little fearful of all the Forrester had to offer in the way of innovation at first, it is so far advanced, but it is incredible and easy to master, even for me. I could not be more satisfied and I am looking forward to a long and happy relationship with Competition Subaru. If you stop in ask for Joseph Giampietro, he knows his cars, he has many years of experience, and he is an asset to the dealership. More
