Beware of Unscrupulous Practices They quoted a higher amount on the purchase of 4 Continental Tires, that were supposed to be sold to me based on an ad they were running for purchase They quoted a higher amount on the purchase of 4 Continental Tires, that were supposed to be sold to me based on an ad they were running for purchase at employee pricing (which per their Svc mngr would be 10% - 15% below their cost). After doing my due diligence (aka price comparisons), I actually purchased the exact same tires that they quoted (Conti Pro Contacts SSR) from Goodyear without any discounts and their cost was less, than what I would have spent, had I purchased them, with the proposed employee pricing from Competition BMW of Smithtown. Additionally, one week later, I took my vehicle to Comp BMW of Smithtown for an “Oil Change Service” and upon its completion, my service advisor gave me a print out of service recommendations; which included, replacement of front and rear brakes, as well as, rear shocks amongst other things. Ironically, I’d just had my rear shocks replaced just three months prior (Feb 2018) by a mechanic who used to work for a BMW dealership. I immediately called and took my vehicle back to this person, who placed my vehicle on a lift to assure me that it was not possible that my car should require new shocks a few months after he had just replaced them. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my shocks, He then went on to check all the other areas listed as service recommendations by Competion BMW, showing his findings and concluding that there could not have been any actual test performed by their tech that would have substantiated the recommendations indicated.. The total cost estimate relative to the five service recommendations made by BMW was $5600+; of which I needed none. Don’t walk, run! Better yet, just stay clear of this dealership. I would not recommend their services to anyone. More

Tire Problem We were on a road trip from FL to Long Island in our M235i convertible. Hit a pothole in IN which destroyed our Michelin run flat tire. Towed to Indianapolis BMW dealer who replaced tire with a Pirelli Cinturato for $300.00, because they did not have a Michelin available.. Called Competition BMW when we arrived on Long Island. They let us bring the car in with no appt, Roz made her recommendation for two new Michelin tires (as the pothole also caused a bubble on the rear tire). To our surprise, they had the tires in stock and completed the work w/alignment in two hours. Our only disappointment was that the Pirelli was not usable. Pirelli did not make proper size for our rear tires. Competition BMW and especially our service advisor, Ken Darmanin handled our "tire issue" very promptly. A+ for customer service. More
