I had a misaligned door on my 12 year old truck. Did the job well and for less than the quoted price. Very, very happy. More

2012 Avalanche sticker price 57K. When the vehicle was "re-conned", or prepped for delivery, the swirling in the paint finish was so bad I would not accept it. Was told by manager that "black is hard". Wh More

This particular customer purchased a dealer demonstrator with only 4,300 miles. The customer is correct that the vehicle had a LIST price of $57,000 but neglected to state that he received a $14,000- FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLAR- discount and paid $43,000! Although demos are usually sold in an "as-is" manner due to their aggressive discounting, we want all of our customers to be completely satisfied with every aspect of their interaction with us. The vehicle came back 2 separate times for our reconditioning specialists to reduce the swirls in the paint (to be fair, black IS an extremely difficult color to keep perfect)and they were successful to a point. We also had the vehicle come back a 3rd time for our body shop personell to buff and hand wax the entire truck- while the vehicle is not perfect it's awfully close- well beyond what most would consider "commercially acceptable." The customer also had an issue with a stain in a center console piece and instead of merely cleaning the piece the dealership actually ordered and installed a brand new piece. As for the inspection sticker, every customer is told that they have 7 working days to have their vehicle inspected after taking delivery and having their vehicle registered. While I am certain that the process was explained to the customer it may be that he "mis-remembered" due to his perceived mistreatment. By the way, his salesman was there, in plain clothes, on his day off. He was helping another salesperson with their delivery and getting a sticker for them on another customer's vehicle. Our sales team always works together and helps one another, particularly when their is a customer involved.

I've had other autobody shops look at the truck and all agree, the clear coat is ruined. The truck is being refinished this Thursday 4/12/12. It's going to cost 280.00. I obviously am completely out of line as the consumer in this situation. Jim Volpe seemed to be of some assistance, at least spoke to me with respect. I'm really surprised Charles Jr. didn't step and give me a call. I take that back, I'm not surprised. Look at the response from the dealership. These are tough times. I just wanted a truck that I wouldn't get laughed at in. Charles Jr. knows thr re-conn wasn't done properly from the start. I know because the empty Vitamin Water bottle that was left in the back was left in the back. So according to the dealership my "perceived mistreatment" may not be perceived after all, because I was charged $588.00 for the add-on sold to me because I thoughtt it would make the paint look better. Turns out the inproper application of this product ids the source of the problem that I'm paying $280.00 to have repaired this Thursday. I certainly not "mis-remembering" the paperwork in front of me. I hope Commonwealth Chevrolet tries to remedy this. I was charged $588.00 for nothing but trouble. I wish we could post pictures here. I would be happy to provide before and afters.
