Urgent need to diagnose failure to start prior to Christmas I bought my car 3 months ago at Columbia Ford. The Thursday night prior to Christmas weekend, my Son and I went to go out to the movies, and the car I bought my car 3 months ago at Columbia Ford. The Thursday night prior to Christmas weekend, my Son and I went to go out to the movies, and the car wouldn't start. All of the dash lights, and the open door alarm, worked, but there was no ignition. I called my auto plan, who sent out a tow truck. They tried jump starting it several times, but we still only got the interior and dash lights, and the door alarm, so we both felt it wasn't the battery. They then looked it up in the computer, and diagnosed it as a "kill switch(?)", that we could reset by unplugging the battery, and letting it sit for 10 or 15 minutes. We tried that, and it started. I took it for a short drive, to make sure the battery was charged up. The next morning, I took the car to Columbia Ford. Being the Friday before Christmas, they told me they might not be able to get it in, but they would try. A couple of hours later, they called to tell me the battery was the problem after all, and they would have one in by the afternoon. This was a huge deal as I had to be in Rhode Island the next day, for Christmas at the in-laws, and I had a Christmas party that night, in Southington, so I really needed my car. Getting it in at the last minute, prior to the holiday weekend, was a really big deal, and I truly appreciate it! More

Always waiting and definitely not the friendliest We bought the truck brand new from Columbia Ford in 2016. We have take it back 6 times now for warrenty work. Each time standing there waiting for clo We bought the truck brand new from Columbia Ford in 2016. We have take it back 6 times now for warrenty work. Each time standing there waiting for close to 20 minutes after they have said truck is ready. We use the truck everyday for work I have tried every time to express that to the service department. This last time the engine light was on I stopped in and they hesitantly scanned it and said it was a sensor. We scheduled a day to drop it off then I get a call at the end of the day that they don’t have the part needed and truck will have to stay over the weekend into Monday. I said no I will have to bring it back on Tuesday morning which he said no problem couple of hours is all it will take. Tuesday came 10am called them and was told maybe 1pm. 5 hours not two. I would definitely not recommend Columbia ford for service or buying a vehicle. We have made the switch to Chevy been very happy so far More
