I find them to be unethical in their price quoting, and to have extremely poor customer service. I brought my car (Nissan Maxima 2004) in with an inoperable blower part on a Saturday. When I dropped to have extremely poor customer service. I brought my car (Nissan Maxima 2004) in with an inoperable blower part on a Saturday. When I dropped my car off they did not inform me about a charge to diagnose the issue. They then called me 4 hours later and said we have one part left in inventory to fix my car and that it would be $450. I told them that it was too much and that I had an extended warranty and that I would bring the car back on a weekday so that they could call the extended warranty company on Monday to see if the replacement part was covered under my policy. At that point the service rep was upset and told me it would cost $93 for the diagnosis in order for me to pick up the car. I asked him why it was not disclosed to me at drop off and he started quoting Massachusetts law and that how they were allowed to charge this amount. After some debate he said, no charge come pick up your car. The following Monday I brought the car back to them so that they could check with my extended warranty provider to see if the part was covered, Colonial Nissan called me back to confirm that the entire procedure was covered less a $50 deductible but that it would take a week to order the part. I had to then chase them every week for 3 weeks to see whether the part had come in. When I escalated the matter to the service manager, he told be to be patient and that these things take time. When I pushed for an answer and threatened to complaint, miraculously the part was in their inventory! I left the car with them for repair, under the explicit understanding that the entire procedure, less a $50 deductible was covered. The next day they called me to say nothing was covered and that the replacement procedure would now cost $270.80 (note – previously it was diagnosed as $450) Were mistaken then or now...or do they just make up figures? When I pushed them to check with the extended warranty company they said only $59.30 was covered. Desperate for my car, I had it fixed, paid the $211.50. When I later called my extended warranty company to checkout the story, they said the reason why full coverage was not extended (less deductible) is because Colonial Nissan does not follow the national labor guidlines (such as - Mitchell); therefore, what should have been 0.3 hours of labor, was charged as 2.0 hours of labor. I realize dealers get to pick their own labor allocation but when you add $190 (2 hours of labor) for something the average dealership across the country is charging 6.6 times less, you can see my frustration with the “padding” being applied by the dealership…had I authorized the fix on the first day I brought my car in, they would have fleeced me for even more ($450). Very, very, disappointing experience and I hope others are not falling trap to this dealership. More
My lease was up on my 06 Sentra and I had a horrible experience trying to find out my options from Ira Nisaan in Woburn. They flat out lied to me and said I had no options at the end of my lease. Luckil experience trying to find out my options from Ira Nisaan in Woburn. They flat out lied to me and said I had no options at the end of my lease. Luckily I took a trip to Colonial Nissan in Medford. They assured me that everything the previous dealership told me was false, and laid out every available option I had. They helped me resolve my lease issue and walk away with a great truck all in a matter of hours. I strongly recommend taking a trip here for future purchases, and strongly suggest to stay away from Ira Nissan in Woburn. More
I have nothing but good things to say about my experience at Colonial Nissan of Medford. In the past I have leased cars, but had decided it was time to buy this time around. Typically I dread the back and at Colonial Nissan of Medford. In the past I have leased cars, but had decided it was time to buy this time around. Typically I dread the back and forth that goes on over numbers/cost, but not anymore. Richard was very straight forward. Showed me what I asked to see and didn't try to sell me on any additional models. He was thorough and knowledgable about the Sentra. When we sat down to discuss price, he asked what range I was comfortable spending on my monthly payment and how much I was prepared to put down and in the end they came through at the lower end of my price range. I would not hesitate to recomend them to friends or family and will certainly feel comfortable doing buisness with them again in the future. More
Horrible service experience. 6 or 7 trips $2500 and a car that is still not completely fixed. It began with an airflow sensor that they were unable to install correctly even after 4 visits. In addition they that is still not completely fixed. It began with an airflow sensor that they were unable to install correctly even after 4 visits. In addition they replaced coils and plugs to the car for a problem that was more than likely caused by the airflow sensor. They even had trouble diagnosing a leaky AC system. More
I stopped by Colonial Nissan of Medford one Saturday afternoon as I was in the market for a new car and this dealer was convenient. Having limited knowledge of the Altima, I was soon brought up to par afternoon as I was in the market for a new car and this dealer was convenient. Having limited knowledge of the Altima, I was soon brought up to par by the very informative and quite knowledgeable staff. Not only were they very helpful but also very patient!!!!! I did not feel pressured in any way and therefore, the end result is I bought a 2009 Altima which I love and am enjoying. Thanks guys for all the help. More
Chris Cavaleri: Chris was helpful, honest, relaxed and not pushy. Pretty much everything I didn't expect as a first time buyer. He is a big reason we came back to Colonial Nissan and made our purchase t not pushy. Pretty much everything I didn't expect as a first time buyer. He is a big reason we came back to Colonial Nissan and made our purchase there. He was very available whenever we needed him, promptly returned my calls and helped me move through the process in a timely manner. Very impressed. Adam: I wanted to pick up my car on a tuesday but still needed to acquire some things in order for it to go through, I had all of that information ready on Monday and when I called and asked Adam if coming in today (monday) would help us to get things through easier on Tuesday he told me that it wouldn't. (which was wrong) When I tried calling again an hour or so later, I got no answer, left a voicemail and my call was not returned at all the entire next day. He neglected to tell me that they stop giving license plates at 4pm, so I had to wait an extra day to pick up the car. It did screw our plans up that day, but no big deal fortunately, however had this all happened a day later we would have had to rent a car on wed until sunday and I would've been very angry. 1/2 second of thinking before answering might have indicated that if we're buying a new car, we probably have jobs, and probably can't just come in at random sometime on a weekday before 4pm and therefore should bring in the paperwork asap so as to speed things along. All that aside, the overall experience at Colonial Nissan was excellent. Would definitely recommend them. More
Just parked our beautiful brand new Nissan Altima and I wanted to be sure to thank Chris Calaleri for making this purchase a great experience. Chris was responsive, professional, cheerful, knowledgeable, a wanted to be sure to thank Chris Calaleri for making this purchase a great experience. Chris was responsive, professional, cheerful, knowledgeable, and a great listener. He listened carefully to what we needed, wanted, didn't want, and his appropriate response to each request or choice was "that's great, it's a personal decision." We spent 3 hours test driving cars, talking about options, and talking about price. We were treated fairly and respectively, and that is a bottom-line requirement for us. Chris called me today at work to make sure I was getting excited about picking up the car - he's not just a good salesman, he's a very nice man making a living in a complicated business where you really have to hussle. Chris distinguished himself with his character and charm. More
the reason why I would highly recommend this dealership because my sales man, Carlos is passionate about the cars he sells. He is knowledge about the inventory. He understood what I wanted and needed. Carl because my sales man, Carlos is passionate about the cars he sells. He is knowledge about the inventory. He understood what I wanted and needed. Carlos showed and explained to me the all options that I could possibly need. When we were talking about price he was not pushy or persuasive. We came to a conclusion quickly and fairly. He is patient with me and answered all the questions I had. In the end I felt very comfortable buying a car from Carlos and the Dealership More
My old car's exhaust system broke unexpectedly (the main pipe was severed) so I was very quickly motivated to purchase a new car. I knew that I wanted a 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe (I was looking at used ones) pipe was severed) so I was very quickly motivated to purchase a new car. I knew that I wanted a 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe (I was looking at used ones), so I inquired about them with about 5 or 6 different dealers online (personally, if I can do the "dirty work" online its much easier and less time-consuming than visiting multiple dealerships in-person)...of all of the places I contacted, there was only ONE that stood out as a dealership I would want to work with - Colonial Nissan of Medford. Chris Cavaleri contacted me via email within 24 hours of my inquiry, and his emails were not only friendly, but I could tell that he was really willing to work with me, at my own pace (I HATE PUSHY SALESPEOPLE). After a few days of back-and-forth emails with Chris, I received a quote from him online, and decided to visit Colonial Nissan of Medford to test drive the vehicle he had in stock (an added positive was that while I was in the market for a used 2008 Altima Coupe, Chris was offering me a BRAND NEW 2008 Altima Coupe!). When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by a few salesmen, but insisted on working with Chris directly. I waited about 30-40 minutes for Chris to finish up with another customer (this was not a problem for me at all, as there was a couch with a TV, coffee, water, snacks, and magazines available to keep me entertained). One thing I found to be extremely impressive was the fact that while I was waiting for Chris, he gave me the keys to the car I was interested in so that I could "check it out" on my own. I loved that! Once the test drive began, Chris didn't hesitate to tell me about all of the features, and he answered all of my questions (and I asked EVERYTHING I could possibly think of!) without hesitation, and very honestly. Needless to say, I loved the car, and proceeded to Chris's office to work on the numbers. we went back and forth about numbers, and since I had my own financing (through a private lender), there wasnt too much negotiating to be done. However, I did feel that I was given too little for my trade. Either way, I am very happy with my overall purchase. I got my monthly payments around what I was hoping for, and Colonial Nissan of Medford even held my car for me for a week while I went on vacation! When I returned from vacation, I returned to the dealership to finish up all of my paperwork, which was hassle-free, and my beautiful new car was waiting for me, bright and shiny, ready to go! When I met with Adam to discuss warranty information, he was very thorough in explaining what was available, but I felt no pressure to buy whatsoever (I knew from the beginning that I didn't want to purchase any extra warranties/features/services). Overall, I would DEFINITELY recommend Colonial Nissan of Medford to all of my friends (in fact, I already did recommend them to one girl), as my experience was a good one! Thank you to everyone at Colonial Nissan of Medford!!! More
I went here to buy a used car. While negociating a deal on a car I was interested in the car was sold to someone else. While waiting to hear if they had any other cars another salesman(who was watching tv on a car I was interested in the car was sold to someone else. While waiting to hear if they had any other cars another salesman(who was watching tv in the show room)yelled out "Footballs for fu**** FAGGOTSI" My boyfriend and I were greatly offended and thought about walking out. Vinnie our "salesman" came back and promised us a "good deal" b/c he felt bad. The next car he showed me I was interested in it however I was told it still needed to go through the shop. He told me the car was in "excellent" condition and he "knew" the last owner and would be happy to give me his name and phone number so I could call and speak to him ! I was appauled and told him no thanks (can you imagine they give previous owner's personal information out!!!) I test drove the car and was still interested. I was told if I put $100 refundable deposit down it would be saved for me and he would call me in 3 days to let me know what the shop had said. 3 days went by and no phone call so I followed up. I got put on hold 3 times before Vinnie picked up and did not remember me. I jogged his memory and he told me the car was still being looked at and to call back. I called back and he told me "the guys in the shop needed to go home and that he would know by 10 am the next day". I let him know that I was promised it would be done that day and then asked him to call me at 10 the next day and double checked to make sure my deposit was still refundable, which I was told of course (like I was insulting him). The next day he did not call me till 3 pm(again I felt I was given the run around). He let me know that the car had serious damage and that it would go straight to auction(can you believe he let me test drive an unsafe car and was willing to give me the previous owner's phone number!!!)and to call to let him know if I wanted my deposit back and if I was interested in looking at some other cars. I immediately called back and let the man who answered the phone know I was not interested in doing business there and I wanted the money refunded and the receipt sent to me immediately. He apologized and said he would make sure the receipt got in the mail that day. Two and a half weeks went by and I NEVER received a receipt so I checked with my credit card company and they confirmed what I believed was true I WAS NEVER REFUNDED my money. I called Colonial Nissan immediately and asked to speak with the manager. The woman told me he would not be in till later in the morning and I asked for his voicemail. At 3 pm when I left work that day I still had not received a phone call so I decided to call back. This time when I asked for the same general manager I was told, "he doesn't work on Fridays". A bit frustrated I asked the woman to connect me to whomever was in charge (I am not quite sure anyone knows there???) I spoke to a manager and let him know my poor experience with his "dealership" (if you can call it that) and told him I wanted to know where my money was??? He told me he would look into it and call me right back. An hour and a half later he returned my phone call to let me know it had NEVER been refunded. I then asked him if the car was still being held for me because according to my verbal contract taking my $100 was holding the car on the lot for me. He got flustered and said he didn't know but if it was he'd sell me the car right away. I let him know that I didn't want to give my business to a dishonest and hatred supporting company, and if my money wasn't refunded immediately and a receipt was not sent that I would be contacting my lawyer and filing with the Better Business Bureau. He told me he would take care of it and I'm awaiting the receipt. Do not do business here it is a waste of your time, money, and patience!!! It is places like this that make me understand all the issues the auto industry currently has. More
