BEWARE OF WOLF IN SHEEP CLOTHING - I (a woman)was met at the door by Chip and handed off to Barry Otto. Barry and I spoke for a few minutes, I explained that I was ready to buy, had visited several other de the door by Chip and handed off to Barry Otto. Barry and I spoke for a few minutes, I explained that I was ready to buy, had visited several other dealers and was looking for bottom line figures. We sat down to talk and Chip joined us. Chip leaned back in his chair and began insulting Barry's hair, it's to long (?Barry has a buzz cut), when I asked why he was insulting him, Chip said 'it's okay, we go way back.' Chip then began rambling about some barbeque ribs he had sitting in the fridge waiting for him. In short, he was trying to draw me in and make me his friend. I told them I would like some numbers to bring home to my husband so we could get on with buying a car. They then pulled out the 4 square paper and in writing quoted a price on a CR-V LX & EX. The paper (which I have a photo copy of) even has the stock numbers of both vehicles. I was told the price was Only Good for THIS MONTH, which i was okay with... we want(ed) to buy the car. A few days later, I got a call from the office offering me a free remote start, which I was thrilled with as I had wanted that anyway. So today, my husband calls to make the arrangements to go down and do the paperwork. He reiterates the quotes and they laughed at him, literally laughed. When I got home from work, he was angry and told me what happened. I called and spoke to Barry and asked him what happened. He started to say that it was for the 'day' only. I was stunned and said, 'what a minute, were you not sitting right there? He said, yes, he was. He said he agreed with me and would sell me the car for 20k if it was up to him, but I could talk to Chip if I wanted... I thanked Barry for being a gentleman and said I had no wishes to speak to Chip. The conversation and my relationship with Colonial Honda of Dartmouth ended. The optional question below asks if I would have preferred to write this review while still at the dealership... If we had gone there tonight and had this conversation in person, my review would not have been as 'nice' as it is. More

Steve was extremely knowledgable and was up to speed on all of the cars we looked at. By far one of the best if not best salesman I have ever dealt with. Chip was phenominal, he went out of his way yo work with me and my family at all cost with our best interest in mind. I was blown away by how military friendlt this dealership was. A lot of places claim to be military friendly, but this place actually showed it. I will defintely recommend this dealership to my friends and colleagues. i wish I could rate it higher than 5!! More
I recently purchased a New 2012 Honda Accord EX-L from Colonial Honda of Dartmouth and the staff there was absolutely PHENOMINAL! My sales person was Robby. He was the easiest Saleman I have ever had Colonial Honda of Dartmouth and the staff there was absolutely PHENOMINAL! My sales person was Robby. He was the easiest Saleman I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with, and this my 6th brand new car. He made a great effort in answering all questions that I had asked and his great attention to detail was exactly what every person in sales/retail should strive for. He was very personable in his approach and never seemed pushy in the slightest bit. This made my desicion to proceed forward with the sales process, all that much easier. I got the EXACT vehicle, color, model and payment that I wanted, when it seemed that none of the other Honda Dealers listen to my requests. Manager Chip Gray had a great personality and a deep fiscal knowledge of the Automotive Industry. He was the man who got us to the payment that we were aiming for. Actually the payment was lower than expected. He and Rob made quite the tandum and the personality chemistry was the perfect personality match to make a prospective customer feel comfortable doing business. Buying a car has always seemed stressful until my visit with the folks at Colonial Honda. More
I sent an email at 11pm on a Sunday night and received both an email (from Greg) and a call the next morning (from Ash-Lee). Apparently the price online was in error, but I was told it would be honored. both an email (from Greg) and a call the next morning (from Ash-Lee). Apparently the price online was in error, but I was told it would be honored. We went in that day and met with Rich, who set us up with the car for a test drive. We had already done our research and almost bought the car from another dealership, but they were horrid to work with. I was so glad we didn't go with them and ended up at Colonial. Rich was fantastic to work with. I will recommend Colonial to anyone looking for an honest dealership. More

First let me say that I have leased 3 cars from Colonial Honda and I had bought 3 other cars from Barrys from whom Colonial had bought the dealership from, so I was a regular customer to the dealership in D Honda and I had bought 3 other cars from Barrys from whom Colonial had bought the dealership from, so I was a regular customer to the dealership in Dartmouth. I went in to negotiate a deal for a car for my son who was not able to get to the dealership himself. Joe Zekus helped me and I have no problem with him or the service he provided. Actually a month earlier I had leased from him and things went very well. This experience was going to be completely different. The original car my son wanted was a 4wheel drive truck. I had informed Joe at the very beginning that my son had problems with his credit rating and we decided to move ahead to see if leasing the truck was an option. We found that the cost to lease the truck was more than my son was willing to pay so we changed our focus to an accord lease. After going back and forth we agreed on a car with the lease payment he could afford. I was asked for a $500.00 deposit to secure the deal which I gave them. Now let me say that earlier this year I had found debit card fraud connected to my checking account so I closed the account and got new checks including starter checks to the new account. I used one of these starter checks to secure the deal with Colonial. This was on Sunday. The plan was for my son to fly into town on Tue to sign the required papers then I would arrange the delivery of the car when the registration and sticker was completed later in the week. The following morning my son received a call from the sales manager explaining that his credit score would not allow him to qualify for the lease and they would not be able to move forward with the deal. Up to his point I had no problems. I went in on Mon morning to pick up my check only to find that my check had been deposited and was told a request had been put into the office to get me a refund check and that I could pick it up the following day. When I returned on Tue I was informed that Colonial has a 10 day waiting policy on checks written especially if it is a starter check. Upon hearing this I was upset. I was told by the sales manager to go down to my bank and put a stop on the check. I went straight to the bank only to find the check had already gone through and the only way I could get the money back was from the dealership. I returned to the dealership, upset, and told them that I was not willing to let them hold my money for 10 days when it was their mistake to have deposited the check when they had no intention on honoring the deal. They were holding to their policy. When I called back the following day I was told that if I could get the check as proof that it had gone through the would return my deposit so I returned to my bank and had them print out the cashed check with showing their bank as receiving the funds. When I returned to Colonial they would only accept the original check not the copy provided by the bank. A call back to the bank let me know that the original check was destroyed once a digital copy is made and it was gone. I called back and to speak to the general manager at this point and was put to one of his other managers Scott. Scott informed me that the situation had been discussed and they were not willing to bend their policy even though they had created the situation. I can understand where the dealership has to protect itself from people who may not be honest, but by this time I had gone far beyond what I should have had to do to get my refund. I told Scott that I was still not willing to wait and that I would contact the local police. He told me “Do what you have to do”. So I did call my town police who told me that first I would have to go through the Dartmouth police but he suggested first to contact the Attorney General and file a complaint. While this was happening I had found the email for the General Manager online explaining the situation to him and asking for a resolution. Just as I had received the complaint form from the Attorney Generals office, I received an email from the GM explaining why they have the policy but he would check with his bank and get back to me ASAP. So I decided to give the GM the time he needed to check with his bank. It took my bank no more than 5 min (no exaggeration) to get me the information I needed to supply the dealership so I expected a call back that afternoon. The next day I still had no heard back so I called again to find that the GM was off and was unavailable to the other manager to address the situation. The following day I received the email saying that they would have a check for waiting for me on Mon at 9 AM. I emailed back letting they know I would be there at 11. When I got there I waited for over 30 min so the check was not “waiting for me” as I expected and the last straw was that they made the check-out to my son and not to me. Even though I was the one who wrote out the check and at no time did my son even enter the dealership they insisted that they HAD to make it out to him. I took the check written out to my son. Even though they did the right thing finally by refunding me my money “ I had to fight every day” and it took a full week to get it back. As far as I am concerned Colonial Honda in North Dartmouth has lost me as a customer and they would have to work very hard to earn back my business. I have in the past have referred customers to them, but that will never happen again. More
Fair price, little haggling. Robbie was personable and not pushy. He was great with the little things that popped up post-deal through delivery. I would (and have) recommended this dealership and salesm not pushy. He was great with the little things that popped up post-deal through delivery. I would (and have) recommended this dealership and salesman to others. Here were my only issues with an otherwise positive experience. I negotiated before arriving to the dealership. They honored the price, but there was a "destination" fee that I didn't expect (I expected documentation, title, tax but figured MSRP included the desitnation fee). I wish they included that in the price or made it clearer. The explanation they gave didn't make sense after I saw the window sticker because the MSRP included desitnation (they argued that it did not). I could see this being a deal breaker for some people. The second issue was the extended warranty. The finance person explained the warranty to me one way and I bought it relying on his representations. But after reading the warranty at home, it didn't quite add up. So I called the warranty company and they explained it to me. I ended up canceling the warranty. I thought I could go to any Honda dealership (only if outside of 40 miles) and I was under the impression that this was Honda Care, not a 3rd Party warranty. The warranty company said that it would not give me a "waiver" even though I lived 38.6 miles from the dealership (the finance person said that waivers are not problem). I should have read the contract beforehand. Even with this experience, I still think it's a top notch dealership. I should have read the warranty beforehand, and if I lived closer to the dealership, I probably would've kept the warranty. More
I bought my new car at Colonial Honda even though it is I bought my new car at Colonial Honda even though it is more than an hour to get to and I actually have a Honda dealer less than 5 miles from where I bought my new car at Colonial Honda even though it is more than an hour to get to and I actually have a Honda dealer less than 5 miles from where I live, because they were by far the best dealer that I contacted when I was researching where to purchase the new car. I had a really wonderful salesperson in George Surdis and I needed roof rails put on, which they did not have at the time I picked the car up, but they said they would have them in the next day. True to their word, I was called the next day after I had picked the car up to say they had the parts, and Rick, in service, was terrific ! I brought my car in and got the rails put on and got my sticker and everything went very smoothly. I know of so many horror stories when someone I know is buying a car, whether new or used, that I wanted to let people know what a great experience I had w/George and Rick. I would recommend them to anyone. More
