3rd lease with Colonial Honda - the best in New England I recently got my 3rd lease from Colonial Honda, where I drive from Rhode Island when it's time for a new car, and as usual, I left a very happy woman I recently got my 3rd lease from Colonial Honda, where I drive from Rhode Island when it's time for a new car, and as usual, I left a very happy woman with a great car. I worked with Joe Zekus. I don't think you're going to deal with a more up-front, no-games, let's-make-a-deal kind of guy than Joe. And that's only after he finds out what YOU want to do. He's honest, efficient, and is going to work with you to make a deal, not against you. He is down-to-Earth and a superstar when it comes to customer service, always responsive to phone calls and your needs, thoroughly demonstrates the car features, and works to understand exactly what you're looking for - he offers advice based on that. Some time after the sale, when I told him they'd given me the car w/ just above a quarter of a tank of gas, he offered to fill it up next time I was out there. When I asked him to send me my registration, he got it immediately in the mail. No one has to have great customer AFTER the sale, do they? But he does, and so does the dealership. The day of my appointment, he knew exactly why I was there and he was already prepared with the car I was interested in and the options I might be interested in. Joe is not a sales bully. He listens to you; he asks you questions; he offers ideas and he doesn't waste time trying to sell you on things you don't want. He treats you with respect and intelligence. He takes the offer and runs with it. Joe Zekus = outstanding customer service. I had done a lot of research, even learned how to calculate lease payments, what fees I'd pay, the terminology and values, etc., which I still encourage you to do so you know what you're doing - but I wanted to keep myself in check to avoid caving under pressure - but I didn't have that problem. They're a business and need to make money, and you're on a budget... so you understand there's a sale/negotiation going on, but you will not get an outrageous hype shoved down your throat and walk away with a $200 monthly payment above what you've actually budgeted, hate yourself, and never go back! They understand that that little bit of extra money is miniscule to the business they create by building relationships with their customers. They WANT to negotiate; they seem to actually enjoy the experience w/ the customer. As a single woman, I have to handle everything myself, and I work in a male-dominated profession, and I have been in situations where I felt the presence of a man on my side would've changed a financial outcome or treatment. I didn't get that here. Ever. I felt I was heard, respected, my offers were treated in a responsive professional manner, and I was treated like a valued customer. And let me tell you about this dealership... they want to DEAL. They were the 2nd dealership I went to for my 1st lease. I went to Herb Chambers first with my parents to talk with the guy my parents BOUGHT from... He was dismissive, didn't deal AT ALL. I mean ZERO. He acted like I was a waste of his time, had a grin on his face shaking his head, ridiculed the idea that I would offer to go less than the maximum price or receive anything for my trade-in. When I showed him Colonial's flyer for a lease special, he laughed at it, and guaranteed I would never pay that little, and in fact, I'd pay much more than the price advertised, and finally told me to go ahead and go there if I thought I could do better. I did. And my parents followed. And I've never looked back. I've felt satisfied every time I've driven off their lot. Research the deal you're looking to get so you have information to make the deal, b/c half of the negotiation comes from you; but be prepared to be relieved that it's not a battle. And what most impresses me, is that they always honor their quoted price, whether it's spoken or written. There are no tricks with added on fees (you should be responsible to know taxes and what fees will come w/ a lease that will cost extra - you can research that ahead of time). When you see the financial rep to sign paperwork, he gives a pressure-free review of more options and there are no new magically appearing additional costs that you have not researched or discussed during the deal on your paperwork. They understand and appreciate loyal customers the way you will appreciate that they are not out to get one over on you, but really want to serve you well and build relationships and business through repeat customers and referrals. And I assure you, when you drive away in your new car with a big smile on your face, cruising on new smooth wheels with a great view out your refreshingly unchipped windshield as the scent of new car lingers in the air, you will already be telling yourself where you're going to go for your next car in 3 years. So, be prepared, and do not hesitate! And set up an appointment with Joe Zekus! He will find out what you want, listen to what you need, and help you get both by working with you and providing outstanding customer service. More
