I was in the market for an SUV that had pretty much all the bells and whistles. After spending quite a bit of time on sites like Edmunds looking at different brands I narrowed my choice down to three the H the bells and whistles. After spending quite a bit of time on sites like Edmunds looking at different brands I narrowed my choice down to three the Honda CRV EX-L with NAV, Mazda CX-5 Limited, And Toyota Rav4 Limited. I consider all of these vehicles top notch and pretty much have the same amenities with a few exceptions so it really all comes down to price and the sales people. First stop was the Mazda, this was my favorite as far as style went. Too bad they really just did not want to deal on it, their loss the way I see it. Next up was Toyota They offered me a pretty good deal and I liked some of the features on the Rav that are not on the CRV but we just couldn't get to the bottom number. Last up was Honda after driving the car I liked it even though as for looks it was my third pick and featue wise it was missing keyless entry, memory driver seat, and remote tail gate. In the end it comes down to value, sales personnel, how the dealership makes you feel about your buying experience and what it will be like when the vehicle needs to be serviced. Coggin Honda gets a high five from me on all accounts so far. I can't speak of service yet as I only just bought the car. But they are great in the sales area. One other thing I was raly impressed with was on the test drive I did not feel as though I was being pressured to bring the car back as quickly as possible. My only negative comment is I got four follow up calls from the dealership asking me how I liked the car. I guess this is actually a good thing and some folks might actually appreciate it but for me two would have been about enough. More

Went to get our oil changed on our 2007 CRV, but this dealership was running such a great deal we left with a new 2014 CRV. The staff was very helpful, honest and easy to work with. Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF): I got an amazing deal using USAA buying program. Mark Kennedy was very courteous, extremely professional, and gave me an outstanding customer service experience. I am a satisfied customer with Coggin. “At Coggin Honda Jacksonville, we take pride in our superior customer service and nothing is more important to us than providing our customers with the best service in Jacksonville, serving Jacksonville Beach, Brunswick, St. Augustine, Orange Park and Ponte Vedra, FL.” 1. Dealers leave no money on the table so you shouldn't as well. Do your due diligence and come prepared. It is not the dealer's job or desire to educate you on getting the most car for your money. Coggin lived up to this mantra! 2. Damon Darden honored the USAA certificate and paid off the remaining two payments of my current lease to sell me a car today. Unfortunately, the dealer added $995 worth of options called Pro Package (Nitro tires, Wheel locks, trunk tray, splash guard, and door edge film), at 100% mark up. All five items sold separately for about $500. Still an overall ok deal! 3. When asked for a quote to add accessories such as a deck lid spoiler, or illum etc. during purchase, it was quoted at 150% mark up. Needless to say, I declined but was disappointed they couldn't give me the store price. Yes, I understand about the 3/36 warranty that covers options but not worth 150% mark up. I felt I was being taken and lost some confidence in the folks who were talking me up for a purchase. Finance: “Coggin Honda Jacksonville understands that financing a new or used car can be an intimidating process which is why we strive to provide our customers with as much information as possible regarding the purchase process.” I wouldn’t use intimidating. Use complicated. It’s a process designed to protect the dealership and most frustrating for the consumer. 4. Finance manager, Sergiy Bilyayev, though began our finance portion with patience and courteousness, quickly got impatient and frustrated with me (a Honda customer who is about to sign for a purchase of a 2013 Accord Touring) because I was catching financial errors that were to my disadvantage. Things happen, humans are emotional beings, but Coggin's employee (Sergiy) forgot that I was THE customer. When I asked for the company’s policy if I got home and noticed another error on my financial form, he told me “the form is computer generated and I will find no errors.” “Customers are not forced to buy if they don’t want to.” So basically he has no concerns if I leave the final process. Suspect that this wasn’t his intentions but stated it none-the-less. Stephen Brandt, the finance director, apologized and professionally finished the process. 5. All in all, consumers are no longer unarmed when it comes to information on new car purchases. That is not to say, dealers don’t still have an advantage. Dealers, in this case Coggin, should take note that today’s customers are aware and adjust their customer service to account for that. Any answer given on price, options, finance, discounts, warranties, delivery, fees, etc. can easily be researched to confirm how “honest” and customer friendly a dealership really purports to be. Purchased 2013 Honda Ridgeline early June 2013. First corresponded with Michael Aguilar via social media to see if desired vehicle was in fact on the lot as well as advertised internet price. Michael called back and informed me that the desired vehicle was still available and at the advertised price on the internet. Set up appointment to met with Michael Aguilar the next day and purchased vehicle. Sales Manager did in fact give me the money I had asked for when I started to negotiate for my trade in. I had check in hand from my local banking institution with a great interest rate, finance department offered to beat the rate I had received from my bank, which they did. Glad I did not pass up the opportunity. More
Jim Warren emailed me early in the day that I would be working with salesman Alberto Diaz. I called Alberto to verify they had a 2013 silver FIT available at the .9 60 month apr. Less than five minutes, Jim Warren called me back with info that this FIT was there and available at the .9 60 month financing, and we made an appointment for 2:30 pm. I pulled in @ 2:35 pm and Alberto was waiting for me just outside the front door of Coggin Honda (I recognized him from the photo which had been included in Jim Warren's or Alberto's email. My wife was with me, and we sat down in Alberto's office as I gave Alberto the key to my 1998 Honda Ex Civic, which I was planning to trade in if I purchased the new FIT. Before we arrived at Coggin, I had researched what the online going rate for the FIT was, and what and where I was able to find the lowest out-the-door charge. Alberto and Jim were able to beat this best price, and we agreed to buy the car. Alberto had my wife and me go to another young man's office - Kelly, who is in charge of finances. He asked me and my wife to sign many papers (we are vegan vegetarians, and he disappeared at some point and came back with several vegan "candy" bars of nuts and other e and nutritious items. This came at a good time because my wife and I were both getting a little hungry (we had been at the site for over 3 1/2 hours). Kelly came back not only with these nutty treats, but the info that we had received the .9 APR sales rate for 60 months, and exactly what our monthly payments would be. We were thrilled with everyone's honesty, directness, and integrity. It was an extremely pleasurable experience, and we sincerely thank all of these people. More
