Use car purchase I needed to purchase a car for myself last week. I have also dreaded buying a car either used or new. Most of the experiences were unpleasant and confirmed to me all the negative stereotypes about the the car business. Found a car I had in mind at Coggins and contacted Astaire Strachan in the used car department. Basically made the whole experience relatively painless. Fair price, treated well and my time was not wasted. Would definitely buy another car from Astaire. More

Bad Customer Service I bought a used GMC Sierra on November 2nd from this dealership. The customer service has been terrible since we signed the paperwork. The truck I purchased had a large dent on the front Quarter panel, hood, and a scratch on the side- all of which was negotiated to be fixed prior to accepting the truck- I was promised the vehicle within a week- that didn't happen, then I was given a 2nd date, which they also missed. Never once did anyone contact me without me reaching out first to let me know the delivery was delayed. I was promised a call from a service manager by the salesman- I never got it. So upon delivery on the 13th, the quarter panel and side scratch were repaired and they did a great job (I will give credit when due) however, the hood scratch/dent was only partially repaired- When I reached out to salesman, I was told "They evened out the dent, but because of the angle they were saying the hood would need to be replaced, which we couldn't add to the original dent and scratch we discussed" - If I am told something will be fixed professionally, I expect that to happen, especially when there was a written agreement that it will be fixed. It is not my fault they did not properly assess an item they agreed to fix. Again, I was never told this and had to discover it upon delivery of the vehicle. To me, this is misleading and quite frankly a breach of agreement. I requested the salesman have the sales manager reach out to me on the 13th- guess what? I haven't heard from anyone as of 11/26/19. I then had a question regarding financing and have left 2 messages for Gus with no return call. I have also submitted a contact request via their website with no return either. Bottom line- if you tell somebody you are going to do something, do it- and when you don't do it- own it and return a phone call. I am glad I kept all of the correspondence between myself and the salesman. It will come in handy. More
