I went to this dealership because it’s convenient for its location and I had been here previously a few times. I had never exactly had a bad experience until this time. I had gone in due to a disturbing nois location and I had been here previously a few times. I had never exactly had a bad experience until this time. I had gone in due to a disturbing noise I noticed and I was concerned for my safety. I knew that I had bought an extended warranty and I knew that I must’ve been covered. It wasn’t until after the technician took a peak that the noise was what I expected. I told the dealership 3 times I had an extended warranty and this should be covered. I was told over and over again that this was not covered, and even the manager could not find what I was referring to. I left the dealership to do some investigation myself. I called customer care and learned that they most likely only saw what the dealership saw for warranty. Except, the customer care rep seemed to have done some more probing to find out what my warranty was not a VW specific warranty, but was sold to me as a 3rd party warranty. The rep told me to circle back to the original dealership I purchased the car from and go from there. In conclusion to that, the dealership I bought the car from originally was not there anymore. There was a different VW dealership in its place, so I decided to give them a call. It wasn’t until the new dealership had actually done some research to find out that the issue actually WAS covered by the warranty and they would be more than happy to actually do my service. I am very disappointed in Coastal VW. I had to spend more time on that was unnecessary for me as a customer to figure out why something I spent thousands of dollars on would not cover an event like this. It seemed that Coastal VW did not want to go through the “hassle” to give the 3rd party company a phone call, in which all they had to do was make a claim through them to have the issue covered. As well as being charged a diagnostic fee which SHOULD HAVE been waived, since the problem was covered under the top of the line bumper to bumper warranty. I had heard many horror stories from people I ACTUALLY know about Coastal VW. But I had never actually experienced a disservice until this happened. Now, when I have to get service done to my car I will need to travel a bit further, but at least I know I will be treated with respect and not lied to. More
