I contacted John Lyons from Coastal Hyundai, (my wife and I bought a Hyundai Accent from him a few years ago and we were very impressed by his expertise, honesty and customer service). John called me soon after and advised me that Coastal Hyundai had a 2014 Genesis, perfect shape, and low mileage on the lot. I made an app't to see it, and loved the car. I bought it and went home with it that day. Last week I pulled out of my garage and scraped a shelving unit that broke one of the tabs for the bumper. I texted my service adviser Peter Seemadray and explained what had happened. I received a text back from him with an app't for 9:00 am the next day and that Ron from "Color Concepts" will be looking at it. Came in at 9:00, Ron looked at the damage and told me he would repair it immediately. I went into the waiting room for approx 30 minutes, Ron came in and told me he was done and that there was no charge because it was not that bad and he couldn't justify charging me. I was shocked. I have never had this happen before. The least thing I can do is to post this review on how outstanding the personnel is at Coastal Hyundai and sincerely thank them for their commitment to excellence. Thank You! John Greene More

High pressure sales. BAD service dept. Bought our car August of 2015 and every time there is a oil change or minor repair issues we are there 3 hours at the least. I can't believe if you Bought our car August of 2015 and every time there is a oil change or minor repair issues we are there 3 hours at the least. I can't believe if you have a scheduled appointment and are on track most of the time early WHY does it take 3 hours! If you don't have the service persons to handle the time slots Do Not schedule over the amount of service persons you have. More
Incomplete service and pressured to making unneccessary buys I am writing this so people can see how negligent and untrustworthy this dealership was, there should be checks and balances , or some kind of quality I am writing this so people can see how negligent and untrustworthy this dealership was, there should be checks and balances , or some kind of quality control. Also, Coastal Hyundai should not be able to pressure people into purchasing things that are not indeed needed. I took my car into Coastal Hyundai because it was riding rough. I was told I needed struts, alignment done, brakes front and back (which the back brakes did not need done at all and the front was not of urgency, it was hardly at the wear line) and tires front and back (the front tires did not need done) . I was told the brakes were to the point the rotors could be damaged if I did not get them done ASAP. I was pressured into making unnecessary purchases by Willy right before the holidays. However, I was lucky I went ahead and got the brakes replaced by another mechanic, because this was how it was discovered that when Hyundai serviced my vehicle, they had not secured the nuts on our struts. Their carelessness could have cost us our car, or even worse our lives if the tire had flown off. By the time we made it to the mechanic to do the brakes we only had one nut left on the strut, and the other was so loose it could be flicked with a finger. We had to return to Hyundai so they could complete the job they failed to complete the first time. When we presented this to the Service manager Gary and the Dealership Manager, we were told they don’t have to do anything to rectify their mistake because no damage was actually done. We were basically being pressured to make purchases that were unnecessary and it was apparently acceptable that they half worked my car as long. This was not the level of service I would expect from my dealership. More
Engine issue I have a 2913 Sonata and was told by Coastal Hyundai that I need a new engine(46,300 miles) due to the fact that I didn't do the oil changes on time.W I have a 2913 Sonata and was told by Coastal Hyundai that I need a new engine(46,300 miles) due to the fact that I didn't do the oil changes on time. When I bought the car from a private dealer I was told every 10,000 miles to cheange the oil. I was told warranty would not cover this, then I looked online and there are over 470,000 engine issues with the same problem. Would never go there again nor would I recommend this dealership to anyone. More
Complete and total incompetency I could not possibly be more outraged at this company, more specifically their service department. I purchased a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport from I could not possibly be more outraged at this company, more specifically their service department. I purchased a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport from their Mitsubishi dealership, in August of 2015. The car had less than 500 miles on it when I had it towed to them. My complaint was that there was intermittent, massive vibrating happening. When I say massive, think of driving over rumble strips on steroids. They looked at the car and told me there was no problem. I insisted they keep looking. I again was told to come get the car, there was no problem. It wasn't until I got upset and insisted they keep the car, did they finally find a bad valve in my CVT. That valve had to be ordered and I was without my brand new car for 4 days. Fast forward a few months and I brought the car back to them. I told them the car was coming to an almost complete stop, instead of coasting, when I took my foot off the gas. Once again I was told there was no problem and once again I asked them to keep looking. They refused, and essentially told me I was crazy. They sent me home with the car. Now the car is 13 months old and has 11k miles on it and wouldn't you know I got a recall notice in the mail?! Seems that the issue, when corrected, will fix the very thing they told me wasn't happening! This issue, left unfixed, posses a fire hazard! A FIRE HAZARD!!! I drive my kids around in this car! One would think that if they had truly looked over the car, they would have found the problem BEFORE it became a recall! The fact that they didn't, just proves to me that they are either a bunch of totally incompetent mechanics, or just a bunch of disgusting liars who don't care if they put people in cars that can cause serious injury or death. Who knows what the long term damage will be for he length of time I drove it with this safety issue. I no longer live in the area and will have to take the car to the nearest Mitsubishi dealership, which is 45 minutes away. I can only pray that those mechanics are worth the pay checks they earn. Beware of these people. If I could have given them zero stars I would have. More
Terrible service I went there to get tires, I asked to put the tires from the from to the back and put the new tires in the front. They only put one of the tires from I went there to get tires, I asked to put the tires from the from to the back and put the new tires in the front. They only put one of the tires from the front in the back and left one of the bald ones on and told me they changed them. Took them 20 minutes to find my car, they didn't know where it was. The cashier was a very rude nasty woman. They also charge a 10% shop fee and don't even tell you they do. I will never go back there. More

I was told that I had to have an ID card to prove that I was I came in for an oil change today and asked about the Friday free car wash for veterans. I was told that I had to have an ID card to prove that I was a military member. I explained that I did not retire from the military or am not active duty but I am a veteran who served for seven years. I explained about the DD 214 to the Attendant. After my services were done the young man said they went ahead and did the car wash, but the manager would not do it again without an ID card. So I asked to speak to the manager. I explained to him that I served for seven years and have a DD 214 at home that I could email him to show that I am a veteran. He said I couldn't be a veteran if I didn't have an ID card and asked how I entered the base without one. I told him the definition of a veteran, but he didn't seem interested at all. I really think since you offer this great service to veterans that someone should educate your staff and managers, especially since we are a military community. I am on my fourth vehicle from you and have never had a problem, but this hurts my heart. I feel very unappreciated. What is a Veteran? Title 38 of the Code of Federal Regulations defines a veteran as “a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.” This definition explains that any individual that completed a service for any branch of armed forces classifies as a veteran as long as they were not dishonorably discharged. Hyundai knowledge unacceptable, customer service sub par My husband called to get a quote for installing fog lights into our 2011 Santa Fe, along with obtaining a quote for brake replacement. He was told by My husband called to get a quote for installing fog lights into our 2011 Santa Fe, along with obtaining a quote for brake replacement. He was told by customer service agent, Edwin, that their "certified" mechanic had NEVER installed fog lights before but that he would "figure it out". He was then given a quote for the brake job that conveniently did not include the shop fees. Although we were not very confident leaving our vehicle with a mechanic that was not as knowledgeable as we'd expect from a dealer certified mechanic, we brought our SUV in for the brake job only. We were instantly given a MUCH higher quote, and told the job would take 2 hours. We opted to wait for it to be completed. The brake replacement took 3.5 hours!!! No one at the dealership had the courtesy to check in on us or even tell us the job would take longer, knowing we were sitting in their showroom waiting. When we asked what took so long, we were given zero explanation. Terrible customer service! buyers beware! - their showroom also serves as their service center waiting rooms, which gives the appearance that there are tons of shoppers there, and the people waiting can overhear your personal transaction when purchasing one of their vehicles. In the 3.5 hours I was waiting, I was able to hear a buyers complete social, address, name, etc. More
