Purchase versus lease I had a 2014 Sonata on a three year lease that was to expire in October this year. I went to the dealer to purchase that car - it had only 10200 mile I had a 2014 Sonata on a three year lease that was to expire in October this year. I went to the dealer to purchase that car - it had only 10200 miles on it. Sales/ finance personnel pointed out that monthly payments for the purchase would be about $45 higher the the existing lease payment. They then offered me a lease on a 2016 Sonata with lease payments just $2 higher than the existing lease payment on the 2014 and with no outlay of down payment cash.. It did not lake a mental giant to jump on that deal. Gene Kunc More
