When our new car arrived it was slightly different than we had discussed (e.g. It had pinstripes). Charlie offered to have those removed if we would prefer. We love the pinstripes and the car. This is the second Honda we have purchased from this dealership. We continue to be pleased with their manner of doing business ---straight forward and direct. I called to buy a used vehicle from the internet sales department on 8/26/13, which I had found through USAA's car buying service. I spoke to Bill Ripka initially, and then was forwarded to Sean McManus department on 8/26/13, which I had found through USAA's car buying service. Sean told me if I was serious about buying I would need to put a deposit down, which would give me the right of first refusal to buy. I was set on buying the car but they didn't have any photos of the vehicle as they said they just got this car and it was still dirty - they were in the process of cleaning it before putting photos on the internet, is what they said. Sean said he could, at the minimum send me photos from his phone ASAP. After several follow up calls and emails, I recieved photos NINE (9) days later on 9/4/13. Bill Ripka was even surpised that Sean had never got back to me yet with the pictures. Nevertheless, I really liked the car and put a deposit down, in which they charged my card. I wanted to continue with the deal, so I called Sean today only to find out that his manager approved the sale to another buyer, and the car was not available anymore. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a dealership, and all Honda dealerships I've ever dealt with have been top notch except for Clinton Honda in Annandale, NJ. You can't trust their word and putting a deposit doesn't mean anything at this dealer. Slow follow up communication and a horrible experience here prompted me to let others know the terrible service at Clinton Honda. Beware if buying here! More
Was shopping for a used 2013 Acura RDX and found Clinton Honda had one for sale. I live west of Phila and i've been looking for one for about 4 weeks in my area. The Acura dealers in my area have their used vehicles listed well above the blue book values and when I went to see them, it almost seem that the sales rep was annoyed to show and explain the model to me. I expanded my search and found Clinton Honda in north Jersey and they had the model I wanted, though it was 2hrs away, I felt it was worth a drive for the price. I called Clinton Honda and they said I could come in at any time to test drive the RDX. Ken Steel was the salesman who accompanied me on the test drive and he had a perfectly balanced route planned out for me to drive the vehicle. I took it out on the freeway, backroads, and even a windy, narrow, poorly paved road to see how it handled on any terrain. Upon returning to the dealership I decided to start the paperwork to purchase the RDX. Ken was extremely patient during the whole paperwork phase even that there were some hiccups on my part with the insurance. Financing was completed, I signed the necessary paperwork, I just needed to come back another day when a friend could drive me up there to get the car. (I didn't have a trade in) I returned 4 days later to find the car had been detailed and that they completely filled the gas tank. I'm about to leave and Ken takes about 15 minutes and shows me some "buried" features of the center console I didn't know about even with all the research I did. These features didn't affect my decision to buy the car but definitely added value to my purchase. Ken could have just let me take off without showing me these but thought I would enjoy them, and I do! I probably will drive up there for any future purchases because of this sales experience. More
I looked at a 2012 Mustang there over the weekend (August 24, 2013). I've been looking for a Mustang so this would turn out to be 1 of their easiest sales. I was able to get my financing through another company and had returned Tuesday August 27th to what should have been 10 minutes worth of signing papers. The dealer looked at my trade the previous saturday, even called for a payoff amount but NEVER looked at the fact the car was in my wife's name. Early Tuesday they called me to confirm I would be in to sign and leave with the car. I arrived at the dealership shortly after 4pm. 5 minutes into everything they "all of a sudden" realize trade is in my wife's name and they need her there to sign a paper. I tell them I'll be back a little after 5pm with my wife, which supposedly was good for them as they had another appointment at 6pm. We arrived back close to 5:30, I was told I had a 10-15 minute wait as they finished up with another customer. I then sat there for WELL OVER AN HOUR waiting. When I finally sat down with the finance guy, it took a whole 10 minutes for me to sign and get out of there. I WILL NEVER even consider this dealership again for ANY vehicle. And personally, Ditschman Flemington Automotive dealerships should be EMBARRASSED to even have this dealership a part of them! More
