The experience a co-worker had purchasing a used vehicle from Clear Lake Nissan could be described by all the words listed above and more. If you are not an experienced car buyer, you will absolutely be taken advantage of and ripped off very quickly upon entering this dealership. Having a language barrier, he brought his teenage son along to assist with translating during this purchase. He spent the day at the dealership and drove home thinking he got a good deal on a preowned truck; little did we know that this was not the case. The used car manager and finance manager took complete advantage of him and his son by adding multiple thousands of dollars to the purchase price. Here are the facts: A $3,000 dollar “service contract” was added into the other charges section of the contract that he thought was required. The internet sales price was listed $4,000 dollars less than the inflated price it was sold for. An additional $2,000 dollar down payment “was needed to close deal”. (On top of the $7,000 dollar down payment from paid off trade in) The total amount of unknown mark ups totaled over $9,000 dollars compared to the original online sales price. He was charged over a 24% interest rate…the maximum finance rate allowed by law in Texas. He will be paying over $70,700 for a truck that was originally listed online for $29,798 dollars! In conclusion: Clear Lake Nissan has stolen more than our trust and money, they’ve taken what was supposed to be a great experience and turned it into an opportunity to gorge themselves on greed. More
