"A bad GM is like a disease. It infects the whole team and makes everyone’s life miserable.” On August 9, 2023, I visited the service department to address an ongoing issue with It infects the whole team and makes everyone’s life miserable.” On August 9, 2023, I visited the service department to address an ongoing issue with the CarPlay feature in my vehicle, which consistently malfunctioned. Chris Doyle kindly assisted me during this visit and scheduled a follow-up service appointment for August 12, 2023, at 9:00 AM to address a separate issue with my check engine light. On August 12, I spent over six hours in the waiting room, only to be told by Stephen Das(Service Manager), without any paperwork or diagnosis, that my vehicle would require further service and that a rental car would not be available for five weeks—a time frame that coincided with the end of my lease, rendering the offer pointless. I left the dealership with no clear answers or paperwork regarding the condition of my car. Issues with Lease Transition and Service Records: During my wait, I spoke with Zeid Dababneh, a salesman who kindly assisted me in transitioning to a new 2024 Hyundai Sonata SEL. Brandonm E Herrera Rodriguez from the finance team assured me that my old vehicle would be on "ground hold" until my lease ended. However, I later discovered that it wasn't out on "ground hold" and no service ticket was even created for my August 12 visit. The first and only ticket created for my vehicle was on August 30 at 4:44 PM, at which point my vehicle had not even been in service. Stephen Das attempted to correct the records on file, but numerous issues and discrepancies remained. Additionally, the email address on file for my previous vehicle was listed as "katie.111@gmail.com," an email I do not own and have no recollection of using. Despite this, I had continued receiving Hyundai-related communications, including appointment reminders. To further complicate matters, I received a text message on August 31 thanking me for servicing my vehicle, despite the fact that I no longer owned the vehicle after August 12. On September 23, 2023, I was informed that my new license plates had arrived. On September 25 at 5:40 PM, I visited the dealership to pick them up. While waiting, I was assisted by the service team, who offered to wash my car. However, when I raised a concern regarding a compromised business card from Zeid Dababneh, I was abruptly approached by a man who entered the office without introducing himself. He raised his voice and instructed me to wait in the waiting room. When I introduced myself, he finally disclosed that his name was Mr. Williams. When I requested his business card, Mr. Armando G. Tello intervened, denied my request, and shockingly called the police to issue me a criminal trespassing warning. As a customer of over three years, I was appalled by this treatment. I had merely voiced my concerns, only to be met with hostility and inappropriate actions by Mr. Tello and Mr. Williams(sure looks like John Diggs). I refused to sign the criminal trespassing ticket as I believe I was wrongfully targeted and mistreated during this encounter. Inconvenience Due to Trespassing Warning and Additional Service Issues: Since I was issued a trespassing warning, I have had to find another location for my vehicle service. There is a Clay Cooley Hyundai in Park Cities, just three minutes away from my apartment complex. I visited this location to see if they could assist me with an oil change, but the service advisor, Michael McClain, informed me that they did not have access to Mesquite systems. This has created a huge inconvenience for me as I continue to deal with discrepancies, lack of customer care, and unresolved issues. To add to this frustration, even my brand-new 2024 Sonata SEL does not make me feel entirely safe, as the CarPlay system continues to malfunction. Despite the vehicle being new, I still face issues with technology that should have been resolved long ago. "True what they say: "Fish Rots from the Head" Armando 0, Das 0,Mr. Tarik 10, C. Very deceptive advertising. Was told you had to qualify for and I didn't. It was only good for a select few groups They also claim "no dealer adds Ever". The offer sheet showed a charge for 1995.00 for what they called a warranty and not an add on. There was another charge for 995.00 that included window tint and something else. I kept asking why there are adds and they offered to take them off possibly. I think they put them on there just to take off and make it seem like you got a good deal. The salesperson kept pushing for me to buy today and the sales manager I guess did as well. Told them I wasn't ready and they didn't even the vehicle on the lot. Said it could be there and ready to go within about 3 hours. Like I'm gonna wait for that long. The numbers guy wrote down my OTD price needs and my trade pay off and wanted me to sign it and I wouldn't. At that time I decided enough was enough and walked out. I had to stop the salesperson from taking my car for an appraisal and then was followed out by someone who I think said was a manager and that he would take over the deal. I was so frustrated I didn't even want to talk to him. The deceptive advertising and the pressure was just too much. Get as much information from the dealer prior to going there. I tried and got nowhere. More
I will put this is very simple terms. BUYER BEWARE. My wife LOVES her GV70. But we will NEVER return to Clay Cooley Genesis of Mesquite for ANYTHING. We will certainly recommend Genesi BUYER BEWARE. My wife LOVES her GV70. But we will NEVER return to Clay Cooley Genesis of Mesquite for ANYTHING. We will certainly recommend Genesis as a vehicle, but encourage others to deal with any other Genesis dealerships other than this one. We went to this dealership and met with Alex, a very friendly, well-informed salesman. He answered all of our questions in detail and was very pleasant to deal with. We truly thought that we had made the right decision when my wife gave him a $1k deposit for a GV70. Here’s the “buyer beware” part. All of the pricing was “TBD,” which Alex said was due to the new 2025 model pricing. He assured us that it wouldn’t vary much from the 2024 model prices. There were accessories, for example a “First Aid Kit,” listed as TBD as well. My wife was very clear that she didn’t want the cross bars on top of the car. Very clear. So naturally, we assumed that since she was ordering from the factory, that these accessories would not be added. When the car arrived, we drove to the dealership to pick up the car and discovered two problems. 1. My wife asked about her deposit and Alex assured her that it would be on the paperwork when we met with the finance manager. 2. The cross bars she didn’t want were on the car. Alex told me I could remove them myself. “They’re very simple to remove.” I told him “no,” that he needed to remove them or have them removed by someone, not me. He tried to remove them, but couldn’t. So he had the service department do it and had them place them in the back of the car. “We don’t want them, Alex. Please remove them.” What we failed to realize was that over $1000 in unwanted accessories were added to the price of the car, which included that $45 first aid kit. Why on earth would we pay $45 for a first aid kit? The cross bars, an accessory which we were adamant about NOT putting on the vehicle, cost her almost $500! We drove the car home after Alex promised to call my wife the following day to ensure all her questions were answered. No phone call. In fact, he never called at all to follow up, as promised. And after reviewing the paperwork, we discovered that her deposit was never applied to the price of the car! My wife sent an email to Alex, demanding an immediate refund of her deposit and questioned the $1000 in accessory charges. Alex called the next day, blaming the lack of communication on the data breach of dealerships. OK, we get that. And the deposit? Alex said it was an “accounting error” and that a check was being sent to my wife. I questioned the $1000 in accessories we didn’t order and he said they were automatically added at the factory- he had no control over that. I told him that wasn’t right and I heard him laughing. Laughing! I said “Are you really laughing Alex?” There was a hesitation and then he responded that he “was moving his coffee.” Professionalism? Simply said, BUYER BEWARE. And their promise to mail a $1000 check for my wife’s deposit money that was the subject of an “accounting error?” It took them three weeks to finally get the check into our hands. Strangely, there was a delay in getting the check to the post office and then it was diverted to Atlanta. I alerted Alex via a text message that the check should be voided and another reissued. He never responded. The check finally arrived yesterday, 07/20, 3 weeks after Alex admitted the “error.” What kind of business operates this way? I can tell you. It’s a business that lacks integrity. BUYER BEWARE. More

But they got through it with as little fuss and hassle as possible. And understand that I kinda feel bad tbh, I am by no means an easy customer. And yet everyone was trying their best to help. I feel like I need to buy them a beer or something. More
